For all intents and purposes this is a brand new band regardless of how long they've worked in the industry. Give 'em a break. I caught these guys in Tucson a few days ago and they were nothing short of breathtaking live. That's more than I can say for many bands that have come out in the last 5 years.

As much as I like Angels and Airwaves, I feel Tom should definitly use vocal coaching for Live performances, when I saw Blink-182 perform live twice in one year I didn't really notice that much because the atmosphere was incredible. When I saw Angels and Airwaves in 2006 I could see that Tom was struggling to hit the right notes, if he used coaching it would improve the overall performance a great deal. It's a shame.
I think the overall sound of AVA is extremely unique. Very Ambient , very mellow guitars. The fact that Tom made this whole unique atmosphere around them is great too. His vocals are....interesting. I'm not saying he can't sing. Maybe its the way he speaks? He has that weird accent thing goin on and no one else from the Bay area has it really.
@curto2k8 thats something Tom said himself. I personally think blink has a message. Several actually, but I think he was trying to say that AVA focuses more on the message than blink did, and to promote them at the same time.:)
