They are called "career politicians". Term limits would help solve this problem if we can ever get them put into place.

When you vote, pay attention to which politician do something or attempt to build, and which politicians only know how to block others from getting anything done. That goes for both sides.

Even AOC has created a law. Just one, but it's a law nonetheless. My point being, it's hard to actually pass laws, but way easier to make a motion to prevent them from being passed. I saw that same video. It's a different guy. There were two gavel hits-- one from the guy in this video, and another from Senator Patrick McHenry. He was upset (understandably) and slammed it down.
That was the gavel slam at the end of the actual removal vote. McHenry is pro-tem Speaker now, and yeah, he was clearly upset about the whole business.
