@@Steamtheamaricanengine EXACTLY!!! Same goes for any UK engine that touches USA Soil. I mean, you know what happened to the Flying Scotsman. If it happened to Thomas, we'd never hear the end of it.
Does it bother anyone else that in the entire BWBA era nobody in any of the other countries recognised Thomas as a celebrity? The railway series and TV show exist in the show so I wonder why nobody in the other countries recognised Thomas.
I actually wonder how Thomas would react to all of the USA's little (and big) differences compared to Britain's (and by extension, Sodor's) railways...like for starters, how we call them railROADS instead of railWAYS, our crossing guard designs (hell, even the UK itself would probably surprise him if he ever saw them, which he might well have in JBS - going from those swinging fences with the red circles to automatic barriers and flashers), cabooses instead of brake vans, conductors instead of guards - just all sorts of differences.
🎶AMERICA! F**K YEAH!🎶 🇺🇸😎 I wish the BWBA era had international episodes that had Thomas going to different parts of America and Scotland considering that Sodor has alot of American built engines and the RWS had an obsession with Scottish representations whenever Donald and Douglas appeared...
Thomas the Tank Engine Series was one of my oldest childhood memories and since then I love both the models and the CGI. It's a shame that the CGI Thomas and Friends series has coming to the end because I would to see continuing visiting other countries a bit more as he hasn't have a chance to visit American, Germany, France, Mexico, Berlin, and Japan as well as meeting the other engines featuring in "Thomas and Friends The Great Race" like Vinnie, Frieda, Axel, Ivan, Etienne and Carlos. But sadly it's not going to happen now no thanks to Mattel.
He actually went to Japan in the climax of the movie, and he went to America from Brazil to deliver the coffee to San Francisco, and he went to Utah to get Ace to the Salt Flats. Then he went back to San Francisco to get on a boat to Japan to find Nia.

IMO, the Big World! Big Adventures! era should have had episodes where Thomas visits North America, especially considering Thomas' real-life popularity in that country (Thomas came to North America in 1989 as part of the Shining Time Station spin-off and was an instant success). The North America episodes could have had Thomas either meeting up with an old friend (Hank from Season 12's "Heave Ho Thomas!") or an old enemy (Vinnie from "The Great Race").

Speaking as an American, I would not hold it against Thomas if he decides to leave and never look back after this interaction

"Hello there welcome to our country" BOOM
If Thomas is to go to America, he will need to be fitted with front cowcatchers, a chime steam whistle, a knuckle coupler, and a bell.
🤓☝
The technical term for the “cow catcher” is “Pilot” which serves to sweep debris like rocks and branches off the track. 🤓☝️

I love it when fan-content is accurate to the source material. 😊
So I guess Thomas is so powerful that he doesn’t need to be regauged or have adapter couplers added
Couplers maybe, but why would he need to be regauged? Pretty sure we use the same gauge as the UK - 4ft., 8.5in.

BNSF and Norfolk Southern have a somewhat different opinion on the use of "railway" in the US.
As an American I can confirm that there are multiple reboot Percy’s scattered throughout and go off like bombs
