The heat's back on! And Eddie Murphy is cool as ever in this sizzling, smash-hit sequel to Beverly Hills Cop. Axel Foley (Murphy) is back-back where he doesn't belong! He's going "deep, deep, deep undercover" into the chic wilds of Southern California, unleashing his arsenal of blazing gunfire and rapid-fire gags against a gang of international munitions smugglers. Back, too, are Judge Reinhold and John Ashton as Murphy's crime-busting sidekicks. And Top Gun's director Tony Scott keeps the pace fast, furious and funny.
This time, Axel Foley returns after Captain Bogomil was almost assassinated during a shooting and must now investigate a series of robberies they like to call the “Alphabet Crimes”.

One of the most half-hearted and incompetent assassination attempts in the history of cinema.
You could argue that they deliberately missed and crashed the car so the matchbook with Cain's fingerprint would be found, thereby incriminating Cain and keeping the police off Dent's tail.
@@AchtungBaby77 The Alphabet Letters were doing that already though it was an added bonus to Dent and Karla. Also, the hitman said for a match but Chuck got him the whole matchbook. Guessing Charles wasn't expecting dumb and dumber to fail though a heck of an escape, I'll give them that. I wonder what happened to those two after they failed to kill Axel.

@@spinzig Maybe, we don't know for sure though I thought he was gunned down because he didn't get the memo that Chuck was going to get killed and was about to shoot Karla.

Axel is a great mountain and the boys have great experience with their own son and his family and friends
This guy, Lutz...Ooooooo!!!!! He makes me so mad!!! He's always pushing his weight around, he never really listens to his Officers, and, in doing these things, he's guilty of being the absolute worst power abuser, I've ever seen in my life! He's almost constantly running off at the yap, and he never even THINKS about taking time to listen to his Officers. I'm glad that the Mayor heard what Lutz was spouting off about, telling Taggart and Rosewood off. After Rosewood suddenly snaps, and tells Police Chief Lutz off, with the Mayor present, and the Mayor finally finding out for himself, just what sort ofan abusive toad that Lutz really is, he fires Lutz on the spot!!!
Police Chief Lutz-Long on temper tantrums.....but short on patience...and brains!
