  • My NEXT series is HERE! These will be videos to pinpoint steps on cleaning your dolls. This will work on more dolls than just Barbie! In other videos I will be going over boilwashing and styling Barbie hair, repainting, rerooting hair and lashes, and many more! As a Dolly doctor, I do take my job as a fun hobby. As it’s what it is. This can be super fun, a bonding moment between you and something in your collection. Remember to have fun with it!
Like I said, each video in this series will be different steps into restoring your dolls. This is the first step. Washing! I hope you find this video helpful! And stay tuned for my other videos!

Fabric softener also works very nice to get Barbie hair soft and glossy, but you have to take care how much you use or the hair can end up looking greasy

I bought a used doll and planned to reroot her. When I got her home and removed all of her hair I realized that her head smelled like marijuana. Inside and out. I used rubbing alcohol but the stink persists. How do I get rid of this funk?

@@perfumedelight66 you may try a few things, but vinegar is the best for getting out any kind of smells usually. Unless it’s the plastic breaking down. But also let her sit out in a fresh environment, she may have a tinge smell left, but won’t be as strong. Soaking in oxyclean too can help. Just be careful when using chemicals and such as it could break down the barrier between her face paint and vinyl. One time I used just Clorox bleach, no water, to soak a moldy doll and she came out with no face after.

@@perfumedelight66 but I eventually found a Barbie who needed that body so it worked out in the end.
