That part that fits in the clutch that plunges in and out by way of the spring is called the oil guide according to the manual. Does it go behind the 2 splines in the cover? If so it won’t move when the cable is engaged. If it is situated between the flat on the spline block and the splines then it will move into the spring and depress when the cable is engaged but I’m like you…how the hell does it work? I’m used to rods also…..when it is between the flat and splines then I can’t attach the cable to the lever on the cover because the lever won’t move enough to be able to attach the cable….
