Wow!!! Huge congratulations George and the team! After following the whole build series, I can't imagine how happy you are with that launch!! It looked perfect
Thanks for following along Tom, much appreciated! I was so relieved to finally get it in the air, but definitely very happy with how it went. We also had nearly perfect weather which helped a lot.
I've been watching you guys since I was 11. Now I'm a week shy of being 29, and I'm still amazed at what you guys do. Love to see you guys going strong after all these years. Congrats George and crew!
What an engineering marvel. Perfect flight. The countless hours you all have put into this project paid off amazingly well. Congratulations on the record.
I was a child when you guys started making these rockets. You inspired me to make my own water rockets, and a great memory of mine was building one, with a launch computer, that released a parachute and safely sailed back down! Now, almost 20 years later, and you're still making amazing rockets :)
Thanks for the nice words! hee hee... I think we did become a little hooked on water rockets me thinks. It's been a great way to do a hobby together with my dad and the kids.
I remember starting to follow you many years ago. My housemate's kid needed off the couch, so i did giant soap bubbles with her and then 2 liter water rockets. I progressed a bit farther using the wind up toy timers for example. That kid is now well into their college years. I think it's incredible and amazing how far you have pushed something like simple water rockets to the point of setting a world record. A mile+ high flight?!? I thought getting several hundred feet was impressive. You rock. Congrats again!
Congratulations, it has been a pleasure to follow the build, which took longer than anyone would expect. 6 years to make it to this moment is crazy. We only been building rockets for a third of that time. The achievement is mind-blowing. We are exited to see the way predictions and real flight data might differ and all that nice nerdy stuff. Thanks for sharing this with the world and for being the team which makes more people come into this hobby. Who knows? Last time when you broke a world record many new folks joined in. That would be something to look forward to in this hobby so few truly take far enough. Greetings from Hamburg Germany
Thank you for the nice words! In terms of predictions that was quite difficult with this rocket. There were so many unknowns, and water rocket simulators don't have foam performance estimations. It was also hard to model an accurate drag coefficient for the booster. The estimate we came up with was somewhere between 4000-4500 feet so we were happy the rocket decided to perform a little better. But now at least we have a few new data points.
This is an amazing reward for your persistence and dedication to this project. I'm so glad you're documenting this with your videos. A million congratulations and a million thanks !
Wow, that went MUCH better than I expected even though the care was obvious in the build, there are normally kinks to work out with any new rocket. What a flight - amazing it's water - very very cool. The staging on the way up, stability on way up and recovery etc all looked good! Huge congrats - been fun to follow along and finally see it fly.
OH YES!! Congrats George and everyone who made this project happen! Unfortunately couldn't make it to this Mullaley event but I had a colleague witness it!
That is absolutely insane!! Congrats!! In around 2012, when I was just 7 or 8 years old, my brother showed me the video of the two-stage water rocket you built, and we decided to build our own water rockets, which worked, but weren't that good. Since then, I've been watching your videos, and fast forward 8 years, and I was building my own rockets with flight computers and everything. Now, 12 years later, I no longer build water rockets, and focus on other projects, but your channel was probably one of the main reasons I got interested in this stuff, and went to study aerospace engineering. Keep up the good work!!
Wow!! We are all waiting this moment for a long time! You inspired me for my little rocketry project, next level we would like to see a thrust nozzle managed to coming back the rocket vertically! :D
After years and years of work, it finally flew! Amazing to see. Also that music... Flashbacks to when I was many years younger, some of the first videos I ever saw on RUclips were of your channel, I remember the original two stage rocket as if it was yesterday.
Congratulations! You are great and deserve the record! Your videos are inspiring and it's great to see three generations building rockets together. And it's infectious: my four-year-old son and I only have water rockets on the brain. Not only do we watch your videos every day, but for months we have been launching rockets at least one day a week. It's even gone so far that we no longer buy drinks at the drinks store, but only the empty returnable bottles. :D To reduce wear and tear, we are currently printing your Nova nose. But my son really wants the Horizon version. So we're looking forward to the release of your models. Keep up the good work and best wishes from the other side of the planet.
Thanks very much! :) More than 15 years ago you guys were a great inspiration to us when we were starting in the hobby. We've been using foam in our high performance rockets since then based on your pioneering work in that field. Good to see antigravityresearch still going after all these years!
Congratulations guys... what a beautiful launch... so much work you have put into building this amazing rocket. Must have been an absolutely exiciting day for you!
Congratulations! As part of the international community of water rockets I'm very proud of you guys. It's incredible the effort that you made and the accomplishment. Enjoy!
I’ve been waiting for this day for a long time! What an incredible flight - well done George and the team. My kids will be delighted to see this flight. (having just been launching their single 2 litre bottle in the local park)
This is so wild. I have been watching for years and built a couple 2L bottle rockets but have always wanted to hit the 1000ft mark. What you're doing is wild. Keep the content coming. Also you should start offering parts
Ooooooo my god after thousand of hours working on it you did it‼️ I'm witness the huge job that this guys showed for years in this project.... I'm so proud of you, and I'm sure that you keep this record for YEARS‼️
I do remember rockets made of PET bottles with garden hose nozzles. I've even copied one of your designs many years ago. Super happy about you still being passionate about water rockets.
Astonishing. We could get 2-liter soda bottles to launch about 150 feet with up to 175 PSI (they burst just under 200 PSI), and got a 5-gallon water bottle about 75 feet up. Never thought it was possible to get 1000 feet, not to mention over 5000 feet, with air+water. Our launches were very erratic despite attempts to use the same amount of water and air-pressure. Congratulations on the second-stage; that is not easy to do.
Wow. I guessed what it was from the title and was not expecting to be this impressed. That is a great accomplishment. Being able to launch a vehicle to those heights with out the need of hazardous materials might be beneficial from a defense perspective.
Incredible! Congratulations to you, all that hard work really paid off. Started my water rocket journey this year thanks to creators like you. This really motivates me to continue building and have fun :)
Wow so many years waiting this performance. I’m very happy for your (family) team 🤩 So many hours of huge works. Incredible result. Congratulations 👏👏👏

Thank you for following the progress. :)
