To reiterate, renewing a trademark does NOT guarantee the return of Skylanders; obviously it's a good sign, but considering only one trademark has been renewed, I don't think we're getting anything anytime soon. They would at least renew the Portal of Power trademark first (unless they called it something new).
I mean, we had other Portal of Power before. Like Traptanium Portal and the Rift Engine portal. So a new portal being made is very posable since they did it 2 times before under a different name.

It's common practice for large companies to renew trademarks even if they don't currently have plans of using them. Patents are really cheap to renew and are almost always worth it in case the company ever wants to start making money of it again.

@@theSkylandeer Not necessarily. they would be able to get it back. it would just take longer and therefore cost more money. + it would be giving up an asset that would give the company more value in case they were to get bought up by another company. I personally don't think renewing or not renewing it has much to say on, if we get another game / remaster or not. Most companies just let their patents run renewals forever, even in cases where a franchise has internally or publicly been discontinued.

Just a shot in the dark here, but I could totally imagine a world were nintendo found it to be cheaper to pay Activision than to make their own chips for their Amiibo figures. Hi, i was involved in some of the messing around on this ploy (ex: I’m the clown who didn’t know the Portal of Power and other trademarks were not renewed and told the headplanner to put those on there lol so whoopsies). If i remember right, he told me that the summoning screen around 5:30 is edited footage of something from the 3DS versions of the games (don’t remember if it’s SSA 3DS or Giants 3DS though) so it’s not entirely new

The final nail in the coffin is the fact they would supposedly use figures again. Why would Activision do that? It didn’t work last time and programming a character selection screen is much less risky than rereleasing old figures that people might not even buy.
I don't think it's impossible that they let us use real figures, but I'd say theres an 80% chance that we have to buy each character digitally to play them

I would be great to see a remaster of SSA and SG, and the addition of Ultra Nightmare in Giants would make the game so much more difficult and fun to play because if your Skylanders are fully maxed out, fully levelled up and you have some skill Nightmare mode just isn't hard enough.

Guys, we are not getting a Skylanders remaster yet. We are getting a new 7th game made by fans, call Skylanders dungeon Heroes. Supposedly this one is trying to implement the races of Skylanders better. Which is why we're getting a cyclops Skylander for example. It's also bringing back old Skylander concepts like tar claps and that sniper guy from Giants. Other new characters include slobber trap, grinnade, and sheep creep as fully playable Skylanders, a big lizard named repvile, and a chompy with a bazooka named rocket chomper, who is supposedly the chompy from mirror of mystery, since in mirror mystery everyone who's evil becomes good.
I mean id just want the game released without the portal. i get that was the gimic with the games and i have basically all of them up to trap team but id honestly just want to do a play of the games without having to get out 100+ figures and get annoyed cus i don't have the light and dark things for trap team.

Putting every skylander in giants and SA is difficult considering there was no jumps and certain characters have jumps as mechanics like rattle shake
