hey, wait! you're that guy who made the template template video! In all seriousness, I really appreciate it because I spent wayyyy too long on this one lmao
i feel like if the level themes weren't so repetitive people wouldn't have as big of an issue with the longer levels but as it is, it's always gonna be a sour spot on the overall game and really hurt trying to replay it, the first and last parts are good but that middle section is just a huge slog trying to play though it, also doesn't help that some gimmicks really outstay their welcome
Completely based take. Those 6 levels and two bosses in the middle make up a lot of the game and it's just a shame because in Giants every level was distinctly unique. I still love Swap Force's levels and they got creative with them but I will never understand why they made multiple with the same theme.
same, crazy that Skylanders Trap Team is less than a month away from being 10 years old.. I'm currently working on a video just like this one but for trap team lol
man Skylanders is prob my favorite childhood game, shoutout to my mom and grandpas wallets for buying me almost all the Skylanders, these games bring back many memories
my fav game is trap team...but even i know its not the best in the series lmao, giants even though its not my number 1 fav,its still the best skylander game to date@@Maccakit
Swap force is the best skylanders game by far the gamplay overhall is the most important thing to me in swap force all the old skylanders got rebalanced nicely where in trap team the old skylanders were made intentionally obsolete by removing elemental gates and giving the trap masters bonuses in boss fights but most importantly some old skylanders just got compleatly ruined in trap team like swarm doesnt lock on atall while flying
Yeah, I would agree Swap Force gameplay beats Trap Team in most respects, especially in balancing. Some characters in STT are just AWFUL that the game feels like nightmare mode on easier difficulties and some characters are so broken that nightmare mode feels like easy or normal.
this vid is PEAK,the level design seemed long by nature, but if u skip all the collectibles it narrows the completion time heavily, the game was overall a good time, most swap zones were fun and a good bit of the elemental gates were pretty good aswell,my only complaint with swap force is the melee hitstun that happens with 99% of all melee skylanders, overall a great time and a pretty great game
Both Vicarious Visions games are criminally underrated and I played through a level recently and ignored the gates and Swap Zones and it felt too short lmao I'm pretty sure Swap Force has the most gates per level in the series and the longest gates too. Add Swap Zones to that, and yeah...
each level has 2 normal gates and 1 duel gate,so yea there were 3 gates per level which was pretty cool, the ONLY level in the whole series to have more than 3 gates is the first level of trap team which has 4 and is also the only level in the game to feature 4 gates, also i do believe trap team has the most gates out of all the games, pls correct me if i am wrong tho lol.@@theSkylandeer

This video is the perfect 10th anniversary gift for Swap Force! Swap Force is love, Swap Force is life! Swap Force is my favorite Skylanders game, especially on HD consoles and 3DS. Though my only criticism towards this video is the lack of acknowledgement towards the 3DS version of Swap Force. You did mention the 3DS versions of SSA and Giants but when you said Swap Force was released on same systems as SSA and Giants, you didn't feature 3DS along with Wii, Wii U, Xbox 360 and PS3.
You're right! I regret not mentioning the 3DS version because many of my friends say it's the best version out there. I unfortunately have never played the 3DS versions so it wouldn't feel right for me to comment on it other than the release of it. Sorry for the oversight!
If you ask me Swap Force automatically claims the title in the series with the most amount of innovation and risks that the series has ever made. New engine with adjustments to all original 48 characters, new mechanics like jumping and checkpoints in every level, longer more rich levels, a massive amount of postgame content, entering a new area of Skylands expanding the world building, etc. Also I disagree with the similar level themes because while they do share a similar idea a lot of the time the execution is unique enough for me to give a pass. Iron Jaw Gulch is a bustling town with tons of people and lots of civilization elements making it feel alive. Motleyville is located outside of Iron Jaw Gulch in the boonies meaning there aren't that many characters there besides the important ones and a few occasional Dirt Sharks, it also has grind rails that weren't in Iron Jaw and a progression of time in the lightning which keep it unique enough for me to give it a pass. Twisty Tunnels is at a completely different time of day and has elements of giant coral, Terrasquid tentacles, and evilized crystals ridden all around it meaning I cannot see any similarities to Iron Jaw besides the inclusion of sand. Also every Skylanders game has this problem not just Swap Force, SSA reuses level themes because of the structure of the story itself and the same applies with Swap Force and by extention Trap Team (maybe to a lesser extent). Other than that I can agree with essentially everything else this video presents. Trap Team is an overrated mess of a game just thought I'd mention that.
Yes! Swap Force is incredibly innovative and deserves more credit for that. I can see that there are differences in the three "sandy" levels but I would've liked to see a little more diversity; I especially have that issue with the three frosty levels which feel even more similar
@@theSkylandeer I agree, though I think Frostfest is the most unique for sure because of the blizzards and the night time colors being more prominent. If Boney Islands wasn't the way it is I wouldn't mind the overlap as much (I really really hate that level even if I do love Swap Force as a whole) the frozen museum idea is neat in concept at least, but the level is not fun in many ways. I also played Swap Force 160 times to rank every upgrade path and I didn't receive nearly as much burn out as I did with Trap Team after just 40 and there's 264 playthroughs to do in total. I can't really describe my exact words why I prefer Swap Force over all the games I just really enjoy it even with some of its problems (but all the games have problems too)
@@theSkylandeer Yep. A ton of free time and 7 months of dedication. I wanted to rank every character on every upgrade path and its exactly what I accomplished. I did the same for SSA XPEC and Giants. Why does everyone hate rufus?
because you're forced to listen to him talk to you when you load up the game in a save where you've finished the story
everyone says you can't jump in giants you are all just fed lies because I played giants so many times and always seem to find that I can jump
Are you playing the 3ds version?
