You had me at He Is Risen. I was recovering from strep throat on Sunday so had to skip church. I was knitting and looking for a knitting podcast to help me feel less sorry for myself. RUclips decided I needed to watch you. I love your podcast. I have watched several of your past ones, bought your advent ornament patterns and just ordered yarn to make your tee. Can't wait for the next one.

Hi there! Just watched your latest podcast episode and thoroughly enjoyed it as always! 😊 Quick note though, as a "hard core" Jew, I wanted to clarify that the prohibition against mixing fabrics specifically refers to linen and sheep wool. Linen and alpaca or linen and cotton blends are perfectly fine according to Jewish law. Thanks for sharing that interesting tidbit about the Devon scissors and the upcoming Fiji fingering weight yarn! Can't wait to see them in the shop soon! 🧶🎉

I was so excited to hear about your new merino/cotton base! I have been searching for a cotton/wool blend to make a white summer cardigan. Now I am searching for fingering weight patterns so I will be ready to order your new yarn in your new Jovis colorway. Thanks for another great podcast!

Happy Easter!! I received my Sanctum hand balm last week and it smells amazing! I had it in mind to order 2- one for a friend and one for me. I had a tiny moment of panic because even though I receive your newsletter, I totally spaced on ordering it when it first popped up in the shop. Thankfully, I was able to get the 2 tins I was hoping for. ❤ I'm glad it'll be back at Christmas. It's such a lovely fragrance!

Love the Devin scissors Karista gave me! It was my souvenir from the 2023 retreat. The little scissor pouch is perfect for keeping them safe.

Devin, we used mostly acrylic yarn. We are a well-stashed group and one of our members passed about a year and a half ago. I'm sure the entire group together would not equal her yarn stash, so quite a bit of the yarn in Frank was from the Linda stash. What was purchased was probably Lion Brand. I forgot to tell you that Frank will live on. He is promised to one of the local banks for their lobby at Christmastime. He is back where he started in Judy and Chris's garage until then. If you ever come to Nashville, let me know. (You have my email now.) Our group meets at least once a week and we would love to have you. The Guild officially meets the second Monday of the month, but that is not enough for some of us. Thank you for sharing our story.

Thank you for all the prayers. Your love and concern brought me to tears. My daughter’s name is Destiny. She is continuing the slow recovery from brain surgery. Thankfully she lives with us so we can provide constant support. She has muscle spasms daily (at the surgery site at the base of her skull) and they cause severe pain and often cause her to throw up. Add to that the emotional stress from Pieceacrap hubby who left her for stripper/boss and she is in a deep valley. She loves Jesus and she is leaning on Him heavily.
As always - love your podcast and love this community.
Frank is phenomenal and love the name (my brother and my dad have that name!)

I too am in Lanc PA. If interested in a local knit groups; I am part of Lititz Library evening Knit group, Blanketeers at Lititz Library making knit crochet blankets for Project Linus, and Lancaster Stitch Night with Sunset Fiber Co. All lovely people.

Quarryville Library has a knit crochet group but I haven’t been for years. Thanks for letting me know

Thanks for sharing about the combo in fabric as noted in the Bible. I've never heard that before.
And yes there are many facets of Judaism...basically Orthodox, Conservative, Reform and Reconstructionist with the Orthodox having many different sub categories.
Have a wonderful Easter Sunday and for sharing info.

Devin, the new balm is amazing!! I have a special needs 7 year old son. He tends to drool a lot and I've tried a lot of lotions and balms to protect the skin around his mouth and neck. I discovered awhile ago that your balm works the best ( I'm thinking maybe its the lanonlin in it that makes the difference.) Having a balm that also smells like chrism is truly a delight. Thank you and have a Blessed Easter ✝️❤️-Tricia

Your new yarn base sounds fantastic! I love a merino-cotton blend…it’s the best of both worlds. The merino gives the cotton softness, and the cotton gives the merino structure. I bet it would make a great Digory tee. Happy Easter!

I just want to encourage anyone who is on the fence about the retreat because you would have to go by yourself….I went by myself last year and met so many lovely people that I have kept up with and am looking forward to seeing again. Come and join us and you can sit with me! Wendy

Hi Devin, love your sweaters! Love hearing about the retreat. You have inspired my daughter and I to try a more local knitting retreat. It will be maybe 4-5 hour drive.
Wish we could join you but this will be the next best thing. 😀

Fivers gave frequencies wool and linen both have 5000 frequencies but they run opposite to each other and healing frequencies are cancelled out if worn together

Hi Devin, Happy Easter! He is risen! You mentioned you only got one knitting story this week- I sent you one also! I went back to check that I sent it to your correct email address. Is it in your spam folder? I had to send it in two parts because I sent a video and it had to send as a google drive file.

I learned to read well when I was about 15. The first book I read was the Bible starting at page 1 In the beginning… and am always surprised when Christians say they haven’t read it several times, if not yearly. Is it not the “only infallible rule of faith and practice“?

  • @OkTxSheepLady

Mixed fiber fabric of wool and linen has been shown to have canceling frequencies. That specific mix is what is sited in Scripture to not be used. Cotton is already low frequency so I don’t know what the results of mixing cotton with wool would be. There are many theories and studies on the subject. I believe our Creator knows what is best for us and makes no arbitrary rules.
I found it interesting that the tv show identified Damask as a mixed fiber cloth. I thought it was strictly a patterned cloth made by satin and non-satin areas of design, usually silk or linen fiber. Lindsay Woolsey is a mixed fiber cloth used in colonial times with warp of one fiber and weft of the other. In the 1960-70’s it was quit popular for high end tailored ladies’ suits.

If Karen's daughter's husband's boss is a stripper, just what does he do for a living?!? It may be a while before she feels it, but Karen's daughter is obviously better off without him.
