Welcome to Part 2 of the comprehensive Planner 5D tutorial series for beginners. In this video, you'll know the essential steps of adding a room and adjusting wall dimensions in your project using the Planner 5D app on the web.
Keep in mind that the same project can be created with other Planner 5D supported platforms and devices (Web/Browser, Microsoft Windows 10, Android, iOS, macOS). There are only slight differences in some icons and navigation tools.

there's a couple things I passionately hate in this app. 1st is changing length of a wall, if I move another wall then the prior one will get a bit smaller, I'd like to be able to lock certain walls. If I want a wall to be 2.55m, I need to make it 2.60, because another wall will take up 5cm so the 2.60m wall will get shorter by 5cm anyway. 2nd thing is the worst - clipping. I couldn't find how I can make walls not clip at certain points. If there's a 250cm length wall on one side and I want to make another wall on the other side at about 245cm length - nope, I can make it around 230cm or around 270cm, anything in between is forbidden except for 250cm, so I have to write in the length manually.
Other than that I love it
EDIT: I used it a bit more and the more I'm using it the angrier it makes me. I have a i7700k intel CPU, 2070 super graphics card, 16gb ram, and it was enough to build 4 rooms 3 2 doors and a kitchen set, and it's almost impossible to use it because of lag
Hi there, Thank you for such a detailed review! We will make sure that the product team reads it!
When it comes to moving walls of one room - that's true. The rest will move along with the first one. We can see how locking particular walls can be a life-saver.
However, we might need your help with the wall length changing because of the thickness of the other wall. The length that you set up in the wall settings does include the thickness of the wall next to it; that's true. But on the plan, you will see the length from one wall to another without thickness being taken into account. Would you rather have it the other way around?
Regarding the clipping issue and the lag - we will also need your help. We couldn't have reproduced the clipping behaviour on our Web platform. Or maybe you're experiencing that issue on a different platform? And the lag - if you could shoot a short video and send it over along with the technical characteristics of your device to our support at support@planner5d.com - we will have our tech team look at that one!
@@Planner5D what a nice surprise that you really care, I appreciate it.
So about the wall length problem, the problem appears because I'm recreating a plan of an already existing apartment, and those plans usually have the measurements made from the inside, so it would be nice if inside wall length could be somehow secured.
I just sent a video to the support email showing my clipping problem.
Unfortunately I can't record the lag at the moment, it stopped lagging when I restarted the program, I use the downloaded 5d planner from microsoft with a subscription. To make it more clear, it felt as if there was a memory leak somewhere, since it got worse and worse until I needed 10-20~ seconds to move furniture from one place to another, or similar amount of time to zoom in or out. I'll try to record it if it happens again.
@@Planner5D Has this issue ever been addressed? Today I just started the demo (as I'm in the design stage of planning my new home) and I've run into the same annoyance. The lack of ability to lock down or pin a wall point and have the rest adjust is very annoying. The same with trying to adjust a wall length manually to make it exact, all the other wall points get adjusted all over the place, or adjusting a cross-connecting hallway that connects to multiple points - they end up creating weird polygons.
Does this app not allow you to change the sensitivity of the measurement scale from a whole number to more specific measurement? For example, I have a wall that is 5.5" but app will only allow me to choose 5" or 6", nothing in between.
Love the music guys
These would be far more helpful if they were more than just screen recordings of someone who already knows how to use every aspect of the app and instead actually taught the approach and tools.
Hi! To teach all the nuances of interior design and use of the application, we have a Design School and soon there will be a mini course on the application. planner5d.com/interior-design-school/

Hello I have query. Hope to get a very quick reply. In you recent update the measurements are in 'meters'; which is being a great problem for me. How can I change the measurements into 'feet' like before?
Hi Farhan,
You can still switch to feet on the Web version. To do that open the project, click the Settings (a little gear icon), choose General section and navigate to "Metrics unit". There you can switch between meters and feet.
@@Planner5D Thanks a lot 😀
How to change the measurement in feet-inch like 5'4"
Hi! Open the settings (right top corner), open dimensions and choose ft, inch in the metrics unit.
How to add two color to a wall. One color above another?
How we can increase or decrease height of wall
Hi there, You need to pick the room where you want to change the height of the walls. You'll need to enter the desired size on the web platform at the bottom of the screen. If you want to increase the height of only one particular wall - you will need to use the Magic cube by placing it above the wall you wish to raise.
