Hello Amy, thanks for sharing this insightful moment with us. I'm glad you have found your Shangri-la in Mérida! Keep bringing more interesting videos.
I love this type of videos. I’d love to rent your airbnb in December and maybe meet you for coffee or something! I’m in the Bay Area, nurse, same age as you and nearing retirement and looking to buy a place in Mexico or Argentina. I’m headed to Portugal next month first to look around. Thank you for these great videos! Makes me really like Merida. 😊
thanks for sharing. ive been watching a few of your videos. i was wondering if you filmed this walk with a GoPro? i noticed the quality is different from your usual sit down videos.
Buenos dias, I enjoyed your walking tour of the Santiago neighborhood. It brought back fun memories. I rented an airbnb there in Santiago and I truly enjoyed that neighborhood. The Catholic church, Aki supermarket and across from the entrance to the market there is Calvery Christian Church which I attended and made some friends I still communicate. Can you please share your airbnb access info. I plan to return soon. Much success on your purchase and business.
Hi. I was in Merida in late March. It was hot! 😅 I love your Channel, also follow Jose, MexitPlans and Hola Adventure. Love all of you. Merida has a unique attraction. I've been to Mercado Galvez, Mercado Santa Ana. But I missed this one 😕 Thanks a lot for your vlog!
That requires a long answer so rather than write you a book you can check out this video: ruclips.net/video/a9tQjSrrfY8/видео.html Also, it is easy to own.
I would like to meet you!! I have a house in santiago 59 between 76-74 u have been an inspiration.. I dont live there permanently but will like to meet you sometime... maybe december. lmk if you will be there.
I am looking forward to a short Merida vacation soon and I loved this glimpse into “real life”, thanks! Lots of tourism videos already so this filled a gap.
One thing i don't see in this market tours, no green bananas nor plantains in neither fruit stalls, maybe this is something they don't eat over there, only ripe yellow bananas, too bad!!
I don't see them around either. I also love those teeny bananas. Must be a different part of the country. Restaurants that serve traditional Yucatecan food have a few fried plantains on the plate so they must be somewhere.
@@DestinationRetirement Well, mexican love their corn tortillas, in the caribbean and central america, we eat a lot of these fruit that i mention, not much with the corn tortillas, like mexicans, regards from Boston MA!!
They eat them...mostly maduros but I've found plantains in other markets and local grocery stores. Some of their cuisine is influenced by Cuban/Caribbean cuisine. I ate Moro while there.
Great video! I see there's some graffiti there but not as bad ass Puebla. The locals there were telling us that the "Feminists" try to distoy the historic areas. Sounds kind of like artifa or BLM here I guess.
Yes plz. More walking tours. No one has them. They all show the same monuments and destinations. Plz more neighborhoods. Ty kindly
Wonderful. Thank you for the feedback. I did two more yesterday with better audio. Keep an eye out, Sundays at noon. ❤
@@DestinationRetirement indeed. Will do. Ty for you content and the information you provide

Could you do a tour of grand Sante fe and las americas please?
I can ask my taxi driver to take me to those spots, yes. :)
Hopefully they turn the fountain on again
Agreed.
That’s gonna be my Mercado soon my house almost done
Wonderful. Better get your dancing shoes for Tuesday nights.
How do you survive the hottest months in Mérida? Just curious. Probably you can make a video about that. 😀
I am actually not sure yet. I did a face plant nap after walking around a lot this morning.
Out of curiosity, do they ever have chaya at that market? I love chaya with eggs for breakfast and in juices or smoothies on a hot day.
I have not seen chaya at that market. the huge Lucas de Galva market does. The person that makes fresh juice does though, yum!

I watch those guys too. Well now you have a great reason to come back. So many great markets, so little time. :)
Questions - Why Merida? How hard is it to own a home in Merida? Love your videos, un abrazo?
That requires a long answer so rather than write you a book you can check out this video: ruclips.net/video/a9tQjSrrfY8/видео.html Also, it is easy to own.

@@DestinationRetirement yes! We moved here end of June. Loving it. Sent you an email.
How much can a ready, move in 2 bed 2 bath house be in that neighborhood?
I ask questions as i watch 😂
I would check the website for the real estate company called Mexico International. That's who I use. I'll be doing a house for sale tour next!
I am looking forward to a short Merida vacation soon and I loved this glimpse into “real life”, thanks! Lots of tourism videos already so this filled a gap.
That is a really great note! Thank you! More of these to come.

There is one day a year, I can't remember the holiday, that a lot of graffiti happens, after that it is not much of a problem.
