I wish they would get rid of HDR as it is. It's just not suitable for consumers. With SDR, you just connect, set brightness to a comfortable level (or auto brightness), and you're basically done. With HDR, you're supposed to be delivered a predetermined level of absolute brightness, and this is where the entire mess of settings come into play, cause you can't just leave people without a choice. The choices though will often completely ruin the targeted result. And it also differs greatly per medium. Games often target a high brightness, while movies often target a very dark brightness that is only really usable in a completely dark room. Users have to constantly switch around settings depending on content, even on a movie per movie, or game per game basis. It just sucks, and I can guarantee 90% of users are getting a wrong picture delivered to them. What really are the benefits of HDR anyway? The only advantage opposed to SDR is an expanded range of colours, which will rarely get used anyway as SDR already covers nearly anything you would see in the real world, save for things like neon lights or fireworks and such. There's the higher bit depth, to get rid of banding and offer more fine details, but that can also be used by SDR. Brightness isn't higher either, unlike what many people assume. SDR content can be set to the same brightness as HDR, and instead you get to choose that brightness for yourself. I wish we could just get SDR with expanded colours, or similarly, HDR without the predecided brightness levels. I wish they'd just get rid of it for now, get their act together on how to correctly implement it in a plug and play way, and then bring it back later on. In the meantime, the HDR capable displays will still be fully capable of applying their picture quality to SDR content.

Hi, I don't have a Samsung like yours, my Samsung with the contrast at 50 in the contrast test the white remains pink until I lower it to 43/44, why? Is it right to lower it?
How is the game motion plus feature for 30 fps games? I’m looking into this tv for that reason alone. Seems incredible as long as it doesn’t introduce too many artifacts or other visual glitches.
It's not working anymore for 30 fps games, only for 60fps games to smooth out the picture giving an 120 fps sensation but it's very important too keep the Judder and motion to 0 and not touch them (Only activate the option for game motion plus) since it will add significant lag. Keeping them at 0 the Game motion plus will still kick in making everything you play way more enjoyable and good looking but without the penalty of a significant gap in the lag, it's only going down from Fastest to Faster in the game bar and that's basically almost no lag ( I don't notice any, actually my games run smoother) .
Awe man, that’s such a bummer. I was mainly looking into Samsung TVs for a smoother 30 fps experience with minimal input lag introduced. And of course they had to nuke that feature. I wonder why they’d do that. Just to clarify, game motion plus now literally won’t do anything with 30 fps games when switched on? Doesn’t add any smoothing or interpolation?
@@tylerstirling2843 I am not pretty sure to be honest since I didn't play a 30 fps title for more than 3 years now but I heard I from people talking in commentary sections around RUclips that's not a thing anymore for 30fps games though I am pretty sure it's gonna smoth your experience with some 30fps titles . To be honest 60fps it's basically a minimum these days and I think the Samsung did that to not encourage more 30 fps games being developed anymore ( it's just a theory, maybe they had another reason). For me 30 fps it's a no go these days Game motion plus on them or not.✌️
Hi. I got my s95c 2 days ago. First thing I did I copy pasted these settings. I do not know why but I do not nearly get the same picture you do, especially in terms of brightness. @GamingTech, I have a S95C and my connect box is still running after I turn my TV off. On standby: I can feel that it's still running (vibrates) & I can feel the heat on the connect box when I put my hand on it. This goes away after 10 mins maybe. There is also considerable heat . Is this normal? Can anyone else confirm if they have the same thing and do you know why?

Hello ! Recently I bought a Samsuns S95C, amazing TV. But sometimes when I'm playing on Xbox, the TV goes black for a few sec and then come back and sometimes it appears the blue light loading screen and then close my game. What I can do to avoid this? I switched from a LG to Samsung and this is bothering me.

I recently got a Samsung S95C TV and I would like to ask you for advice whether the allow YCC 4:2:2 function should be selected (active) or disabled (not active) in the video settings on Xbox Series X? I will be very grateful to you for your help and answer. Regards

Well I’ve calibrated my S90C (modded to 95C) according to avforums which is somewhat different. Color-> 16 And BT.2020 with various values for red, green and blue. I’ll also try your recommendations.
You say that if you put your HDR+10 on Advanced or basic instead off it's not doing tone mapping? Yes I notice myself that in my Q70B 55 QLED from last year the -OFF-BASIC-ADVANCED are actually in HDR 10 + section not in Game HDR one like Tech has in this video in S95C. When I activate Game HDR everything brights up insanely in games like the TV does some kind of double tone mapping 😳
@@ADISTOD3MUS yes sir don’t know about q70b but on S95b with latest firmwares hdr10+ off doing dtm and basic/advanced no dtm as it should be. Its been confirm on avs fourms as well
@@ozgamer9155 This is crazy and how they don't clarify things for the costumers. Just imagine the amount of people playing games and watching TV wrong 😳. I have this TV for couple of months (looks amazing in everything, games,Apps like RUclips, Netflix) but I had to calibrate it pretty hard to match my seriesX settings since it came out of the box with the HDMI black level on Auto and I had to change it on normal to have it matching my console standard colore space since I had crushed blacks on SDR and HDR content with it on Auto. Also in my TV the OFF-BASIC-ADVANCED it's in HDR10+ category not Game HDR like this guy shows in this video and actually Game HDR in my TV it's basically HGiG but it seems it's not working properly in Samsung TV,s (when activated it over bright the image too extreme doing some kind of double tone mapping in my TV) and they had to add the Dynamic Tone mapping in the Picture expert settings in game mode and not in Game mode settings like it is in my TV. It seems that not even in this new models (mine it's pretty new too,mud 2022) they can stop the TV to do some kind of dynamic tone mapping, even with it on static, what a joke.
Do these settings apply to windows 11? Also what nits should I set the s90c to in widows 11 hdr calibration app? Also how can I chance latency mode from fastest to fast so I can access game motion settings?
Hi! Have you tried the TV's EOTF in game mode with firmware 1220? Because I read that it fixes it in Game Mode. Just wanted to make sure if I still need to lower the Gamma and Shadow Detail if it is already fixed. Thanks!
How in the world your GAME HDR has the option for OFF-BASIC -ADVANCED when in my Q70B 55 QLED from last year (Mid 2022) the OFF-BASIC-ADVANCED options are in HDR10+GAMING. By the way Game HDR in my TV it's basically HGiG but it's completely broken and it's double tone mapping when I activate it resulting in a oversaturated and over brighting image. Having HDR10 and game HDR turned off it's the way to go for me and my games looks amazing with them off, just the basic HDR the seriesX provide. By the way you should do a video about HDMI black levels in Samsung TVs and actually how they are denominated differently from LG. ( I am tired hearing Limited,Low, High 🤣) They come in AUTO,LOW,NORMAL,. the normal being the correct one for consoles and any content you watch from Apps like RUclips, Netflix etc.AND HOW actually now the Contrast Enhancer has an important rol for black levels since for normal SDR content like RUclips videos has to be on low, Netflix which has HDR (different form of HDR than gaming in HDR) has to be on high and Gaming in HDR actually has to had the Contrast Enhancer turned Off exactly like you showed in this video. It will be an interesting topic for Samsung owners and a great talk here.✌️. My english typing skills are not the greatest, cheers from Spain 🤣 I do hope this time you will reply even if it's to say hi🙏,.
In my seriesX and my Q70B 55 QLED I have my HDR+10 off but actually it's the HDR10+ that have the option for Basic and Advanced and not the Game HDR like it's shown in this video. When I activate Game HDR in my TV everything become over bright and blows up all the details like if it will occure some kind of double tone mapping from the TV and the console, not pretty sure. I guess in this model they fix the broken HDR setup that my TV has but still my TV it's a pretty new model ( mid 2022) so this is crazy how nobody talks about it. I have everything off from HDR 10 and game HDR and my games look amazing without them ON so yeah, this is pretty insane how everything it's exactly the opposite in this TV compared to mine from last year.
I have the S95C, and for some reason, I cannot switch to Active HDR tone mapping (It says feature unavailable). Does anyone have the same issue? Many other features are not available either.
How you have setup your TV? If it's connected to a console you must be in game mode with the HDR ON on your console and actually playing a game and after that you should be able to interact with it. Also if you have your seriesX for example set to 120hz in refresh rate and 1440p in resolution you lose HDR so it might be why it's not working. If you are just watching normal TV and Apps like RUclips (Netflix does have HDR so there you should be able to switch from static to active but be aware to watch your HDMI black levels when watching Netflix since like I said has HDR and the black levels should be corect if you watch everything trough a console like I do) then you basically don't have HDR on when watching RUclips for example and maybe that's why you can't interact with it. Be aware that all this it's meant to be explained when all the content you see it's watched trough a console which it's my case and I don't even know if you have HDR content outside Netflix and some other movie apps. So if your TV runs normal channels from an antenna I don't even think you can watch HDR content and that's why you can't interact with the HDR in your TV. ✌️

My understanding is very few games on ps5 are HDR 10+, I wish I knew if there was a downside to using it if the game isn't optimized for it, but like I said I can't tell a difference in anything with it on or off.
Mate how about the ps5 hdr settings?
Could you do SDR and HDR settings BUT using a PC instead of a console? Is a nightmare to keep switching between profiles/settings
Should I use this setting on a Samsung sc90??
Would this work for a s90?? 77 inch with 2nd generation panel
How do you know when to use bt2020 vs p3?
Yes many things are p3, but how do you actually know when something is bt2020?
It should auto switch, RUclips tell you in the stats what the colour is, some TV's might tell you in their information lioke resolution/HDR etc.
Love this video! I just bought the 95C in 55inch. I have one question though hope you answer it.
With this settings are you in increasing the danger of burn in?
Thank you.

Hello, my LG CX broke yesterday and I'm thinking about buying LG C3 or Samsung S90C, which would be your recomendation?

For me 30 fps it's a no go these days Game motion plus on them or not.✌️
I use all your settings but on warm2 it is yellow , do you know why ?
You get used to it! Can't go back after !
Would you say that this settings also apply to the S90C?
Why nobody talks about screen blackouts after 10-30 min play ps5?
I have that too
What do you set the xbox hdr settings to for the samsung s95c?
Hello what about game motion plus…would that increase input lag?
Hi. I got my s95c 2 days ago. First thing I did I copy pasted these settings. I do not know why but I do not nearly get the same picture you do, especially in terms of brightness. Turning off contrast enhancer makes the image so dim I cannot believe. Energy saving settings are off so it cannot be the problem.
It’s camera effect, these setting only for love accurate image, if you love vivid just use standart with color tone warm 1/2 , but with contrast enhancer on it will broke the colors

I'm using LG C1 should I go for 50warm or 40warm ?

@GamingTech, I have a S95C and my connect box is still running after I turn my TV off. On standby: I can feel that it's still running (vibrates) & I can feel the heat on the connect box when I put my hand on it. This goes away after 10 mins maybe. There is also considerable heat . Is this normal? Can anyone else confirm if they have the same thing and do you know why?

Hi. Thank you for this video and for this channel in general, because it is very helpful. I would like to ask about one more thing, because even though I have been looking for answers on this topic on the Internet, the information is usually very contradictory. I recently got a Samsung S95C TV and I would like to ask you for advice whether the allow YCC 4:2:2 function should be selected (active) or disabled (not active) in the video settings on Xbox Series X? I will be very grateful to you for your help and answer. Regards
Anyone got the answer to this bc I am also curious?

The input lag you should to show , because monitor have like 1ms and the tv have more, so it thst the problem about tv and game multiplayer and the monitor
Bro why always game mode it never looks good as game mode off what is the point playing 3500 € or $ and than playing in game mode with a weaker picture quality
Well I’ve calibrated my S90C (modded to 95C) according to avforums which is somewhat different.

Mate I don’t know about S95C hdr10+ but in S95B hdr10+ off doing dtm and basic/advanced no dtm . Check this as well on S95C
What if I turn off both options in game picture expert?
Game motion plus off or on ???
Cant agree with the settings in my own opinion because i like a very bright picture so i use advanced. Definitely looks good for a natrual look.
The picture always looks dim when using "reference level" mafia settings. "For a naturally ______ picture"
Why in my Samsung Q70D sharpness at 0 looks like crap, but with 10 all things fine?
Cyberpunk 2077 is a HDR10+ game, at least on PC.
Will these work with the S 90d qd oled?
GamingTech, can you please write me best sdr and hdr settings for gaming on s95b. Thank you.
That would be nice. Or maybe we can use this settings for s95b
Hi! Have you tried the TV's EOTF in game mode with firmware 1220? Because I read that it fixes it in Game Mode. Just wanted to make sure if I still need to lower the Gamma and Shadow Detail if it is already fixed. Thanks!
I assume this pertains to the S90C as well as it's the same firmware. Where did you hear this though about the EOTF?
@@Ford-wt8rnrtings updated their review with the new firmware.

On my TV leaving the game mode setting on Auto always works.
My english typing skills are not the greatest, cheers from Spain 🤣 I do hope this time you will reply even if it's to say hi🙏,.
oh no another Samsung.... Lol just kidding not for me mate but great for your channel views! Enjoy!
I just go to ps5 setings buy hdmi 2.1 golden cable put on ps5 setings video output 1440p or 2120p and ur are set
Jeez, just seing this video hdr on my phone I can definitely say I have the wrong settings on my tv
if you want to use ACTIVE HDR I think you have to change the black level and perhaps contrast to avoid black crush and overblown specular highlights?
This works for q80a ?
Even gamma st.2084 is greyed out
For S95D its the same?
Settings for s95d
@@ADISTOD3MUS Thank you!! I have a PS5 and I had my console turned off and it would not let me adjust the setting. Once I turned it on, "Active" was available.
