@@jay1jayf Angela's TV sitcom Murder, She Wrote was used to be screened on tv in many countries including Asia. I used to watch her during 80s. I would never miss her acting in 'National Velvet' alongwith Liz Taylor, which was released in early 40s. Very intelligent and gorgeous actress, we would miss.
She was one of my favourites. That show was really good. I like how they placed the Schlitz beer cases on the loading dock.

This was an excellent homage to Angela Lansbury and a great tribute. She was a Leading Lady in this role, because she brought Flory to life and made her a truly empathetic character I cared about as I watched this. Thank you SO much for posting this, it shows how amazing she was as an Actor. She will be immortal for however long recordings of her acting are viewed and that's quite a legacy.
Morris Ankrum born in 1897 in Illinois; died in Pasadena in 1964 at age 68 of trichinosis!.... He was only 56 here but he looks 75. He played the judge on many episodes of Perry Mason. He also had a law degree from USC and taught economics at Berkeley before teaching Drama and directing at the Pasadena playhouse.

At 19 years of age (10/16/1925 -10/11/2022, "Gaslight" (1944) was her first movie role and her first Oscar nomination. She held her own with Ingrid Bergman and Charles Boyer. For those of you that enjoy trivia, 1977 James Coburn did Schlitz Light Beer commercials. Years later as a guest on a talk show, he said it was the worst beer he had ever drank. I believe he was paid 1 million dollars for that gig. Mesa, AZ October 15, 2022
What is truly amazing is that many wonderful actors are sadly passing. However they are living much longer than they did 60 yrs ago and that makes me very happy because we are lucky enough to see them much longer. Shout out to the wizard of Menlo park for making it possible to continue watching them , even when they are gone. Thank you for making my life so much more enjoyable by featuring them on film. For 65 yrs I've been in 7th heaven and I really appreciate it! RIP Angela, you were among the giants and now your in grand company.

It's her birthday today (Oct.16) but then I discovered that she died 5 days ago, age 96. RIP. I've watched at least 11 movies and many TV episodes with her over the years. Strange seeing her this young, looking like someone I'd like to...

The total demise of a bygone area is Nearly Complete; as with the resent passing of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II; by 2030 the "OLD World" will be Completely Gone, with Only their bittersweet memories captured on faded photos and archived celluloid treasures (now remastered to "CD's") left us., to mark their graceful and indelible influence on our cultures and On OUR Lives! I mourn her passing with great remorse; Rest IN Peace; Mrs. Lansbury. ... Her portrayal of/as "Jessica Fletcher" will Always entertain me during Late Kansas Winter nights; as I enjoy the comfort of my fireplace & a kettle of fresh brewed Earl Grey!

It saddens me the real movie stars are passing. Angela was one of my favorites. Such talent and such decent movies to watch. They hid any thing back then that might tarnish a movies stars reputation so we kids could look up to them as role models and we did.

This excellent episode of Schlitz Playhouse shows why episode writer Robert Leslie Bellem was busy writing scripts for television series all through the 1950s and into the mid-1960s til just before his death in 1968. The title for the episode in IMDb is listed as "Storm Swept."

Lansbury was always a Bette Davis type; in this her cockney accent is very similar to Davis’s in ‘’Of Human Bondage”.

Some may not know that Angela Lansbury's grandfather was George Lansbury, leader of the British Labour Party in the 1930s. He was jailed on more than one occasion for opposing the injustices visited upon his working class constituents. Angela Lansbury retained great affection and pride in his memory and expressed similar political views throughout her life.
She has a most convincing east London accent!

Allthough Schlitz closed its Milwaukee brewery in 1981, the brand was purchased by the Pabst Brewing Company 1999, which produces the Schlitz beer today.
