Excellent review as alway Marc, love the Formex Essence in all of its iterations but these are particularly cool. They absolutely nailed the Leggera super-light theme, also you can actually set the micro-adjust with the clasp closed too, if you depress the pusher on that one side, so innovative and thoughtful. The standard models are already extremely underrated, then you step up to COSC and exotic materials and you have something that holds its own in any collection. The Essence has been a true game changer for Formex, which has elevated them above their niche market beginnings, they're definitely a brand to watch IMHO.
Bought a black dial chrono on leather, what an absolute value timepiece. Watch grows on you (at least for me) over time. So so comfortable as well. Highly recommend one, IMO.
I want to know about cleaning dirt ingress in the formex flex case. How can I make sure sand or whatever isn't getting in there and destroying the case long term? Can I disassemble and wipe it down easily?
Your channel has been a great source of Knowledge, Mark. These Formex is awesome. Cosc certificated and carbon fiber ! Cool! If it had a 38 mm version...
I have a Zodiac Sea Dragon using the STP 1-11! And I gotta say, I'm super impressed. Mine does a steady 2s/day! And that was out of the box, I didn't had the watch regulated or anything. We'll see more and more brands use these STPs movements.
This is my type of watch! Hard to decide on color. I think the black speaks to me. I do prefer a screw down crown even though I know they aren’t absolutely necessary for decent protection.
These are pretty sweet Marc. They seem very well engineered and thought out. The stainless steel on bracelet is also very nice. Cheers for highlighting them.
The grey dial Leggera kills it. And this one came with the old « Formex » logo, which I like better than the new one. If the company made a 39 mm Essence Leggera with this grey hue dial , and maybe dark grey rather than full black ceramic case, competition would be left dead in the water.
These are great looking watches, and I appreciate the materials they are using. It would be hard for me to choose the color, but I am looking for a nice blue. Great review as always!!!
the red light from your camera reflecting on some of the markers on the black dial, makes me think that some red accents on that black dial would have looked amazing. just my opinion :) . anyway, i prefer the blue dial myself. and the microadjustment of the strap is something that i wish to see a lot more, both bracelets and straps
Hoho... Love the gray one, reminds me of the Gray Side of the Moon for some reason, I don't really like the logo and the hands are a 7/10 at best but damn, if I can find it at a good price I may pick it up, not bad at all :)
I agree about the hands & logo ( it joins a few brands in that dept.: Christopher Ward, Orient, ..) . Another thing , the background on the blue dial date is white ; not as on the other 2 the colour of the dial. It's a little thing but aahhh!!...
Nice review, and compliments to your wife, for doing your hair. Nice work, too. For the moment I was worried that you went out, against the quarantine to do your hair. Cheers! Keep safe.
I liked the video Marc, thanks! Looks like it could “Take a lickin...” etc. I prefer the blue dial. I’m tempted but still wearing my Zinn U1 SE. Can’t take it off my wrist. All my other watches are singing the blues. Having been in quarantine for several weeks I’m in a weakened state & might prematurely pull the trigger. Somebody stop me 😳
I like Formex almost bought one. What throws me off is the huge Formex logo on the dial. Why not make a cool F and keep it simple. I hope Formex is reading this.
Pardon me if I missed this.... but what about water resistance? I would suspect that having a somewhat flexible case impacts that rating quite a bit. I'd love to hear more about the water resistance, and the innovative case, more if you have a chance. Thanks!!
Great looking watch, I think the watch itself is great and very cool looking and COSC movement is always good to have in a microbrand. The only thing is the name is a bit unattractive, in my opinion. Thanks Mark for the review.
Damn it. I've got 3 mid range watches and one high end watch on my to buy list. Now you add another high end watch to add to that list Oh well it's way I follow this channel Your wife did a good job on the haircut btw 😀
Can we get over the brand name already. Rolex, Timex, Formex...who cares? I’ve had the Essence in steel (on a rubber strap) for over a year. Great watch.
So I've never understood that. Why wouldn't you want a strap for hot climates? Wouldn't the heat make the bracelet warm and uncomfortable? I'm not trying to rag on you just curious.
i am afraid that this time you got too enthusiast,i just don't see it,too much money for little value, too big also, sorry Marc but this is mine opinion,i hope for you i am wrong, great video as always.

Thank you. Pinned!
Wow. The floating case and the micro adjust from the strap along with the weight. this is something special
Super cool
Thanks for another great review and production. I wish it was 38-40mm though, looks pretty large with that lug to lug too.
Thanks.
STP movements are very decent in my opinion... Zodiac also use STPs these days..
Yup! My Sea Dragon has one, and its steady at 2s/day. I was impressed!
Cool

Awesome!
that clasp design is GENIUS!!!
Yup

That black one is a pro assassin's watch. The blue one is for when he has a day off.
This is my type of watch!
Hard to decide on color. I think the black speaks to me.

You take the black and I will take the grey :)
Blue!!!
Hard for me to decide between the blue and grey! Formex watches look great, thanks for the review!
Knocked those out of the park! That blue is just so nice! Definitely one on my “when I win the lottery” list 😁
Super!
That is a looker for sure Marc! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching
I really like the technology behind these watches.
Thank you
These are pretty sweet Marc. They seem very well engineered and thought out. The stainless steel on bracelet is also very nice. Cheers for highlighting them.
Thanks for watching
Good looking watches, but I didn’t get enough of a stimulus check to buy one 😆
Lol
The standard Essence COSC on bracelet is more or less the amount of stimulus check, less on a strap, and even less for the non COSC certified.
Michael Paris It was a joke, but I appreciate the info. Thanks.
As Marc says: they just scream Quality. Absolutely stunning work.
Thanks so much!
Make it 40/41mm and I think we can call it a day. That carbon dial plus the ingenuity of the case and clasp makes for mighty fine package

She did a good job there.
I attempted my own, I now look like an extra from Beyond Thunder Dome.
2 men enter 1 man leaves!!!
Lol. Thx!

how does Formex compare with Sinn or Dimasko reguarding scratch resistence Thank you Marc
Great looking watches. The blue is my favorite. Thanks for sharing them Marc! 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸
Thank you
Nice review, and compliments to your wife, for doing your hair. Nice work, too. For the moment I was worried that you went out, against the quarantine to do your hair. Cheers! Keep safe.
Haha, thanks!
screams quality , if you ever do a 90% sale on these Mark to fit into my budget i'm your man :) blue dial looks amazing
Lol, thanks.
That grey dial one is killer. Just a tad concerned about the legibility of it.
Seems like it's easy on the eyes (like me!)
Blaçk hands. Gray dial. If you like the look, you like it but legibility is not a positive on that variation.
I really like it! Reminds me a little of the casio ga2100 thats on my short list, but the color I like is hard to get.
True!
Where can one buy a similar strap? Looks like nylon or cordure weave, it's also quite thick. I just havent seen anything like this before
From Formex themselves.
Love the Datejust 👍
Thx

The ONE watch to RULE them ALL. #LOTW

100M of WR
The sealed case elements are all screwed together as a unit, which is then suspended in the outer case. No more problems than with a standard watch.
Great looking watch, I think the watch itself is great and very cool looking and COSC movement is always good to have in a microbrand.
The only thing is the name is a bit unattractive, in my opinion.
Thanks Mark for the review.
Thank you
I am piling up the watches I want to buy from you. My wife is going to kill me.
It happens
Off topic for this watch but getting ready to update my SKX009 and wondered if you know of anybody who makes a SKX titanium mod case?
No, sorry.
Gorgeous
Thank you
Got Mine!
Damn it. I've got 3 mid range watches and one high end watch on my to buy list. Now you add another high end watch to add to that list
Oh well it's way I follow this channel
Your wife did a good job on the haircut btw 😀
Haha, thank you.
Great design, clasp slide and materials. Just make a smaller one please.
Ok!
Clever clasp design
Super cool
Great clasp, l will buy one them.
Great, thank you.
45mm too big for me. Do they do smaller marc
No, sorry
Can a scratch on the case be polished out?
What is your wrist size?
It would barely show up. There is no polishing as it's not metallic or amorphous.
6-3/4"
@@islandwatch @Long Island Watch I understand. I couldnt find another word that would mean "to use friction to make a surface smooth."
My blue Casio duro is on my wrist all day (Apple Watch at night) $65. Who knew?
Lol
Nice haircut!
Thank you
Can we get over the brand name already. Rolex, Timex, Formex...who cares? I’ve had the Essence in steel (on a rubber strap) for over a year. Great watch.
Right on.
Marc, why no mention of the price? I'm guessing it's very high then.
It's literally in the first few minutes. And I even make a conversation about it.
The blue is the winner for me.
Thank you.
Great brand
Thank you for checking it out
If the crown is not screw down, swimming wouldn't be an option here? I mean it's clearly a sports watch.
Screw down crowns dont keep out water, the gaskets do. It has 100m water resistance even with the crown open.
40mm pls
Ok!
how are you getting your haircut?!?!?!
I believe at the beginning he said 'Mrs. LIW' trimmed it for him
Pay attention?
Looked like your Rolex crown was unscrewed. I could be wrong. Please screw it down if I'm not! Aaah! Accident waiting to happen!
Fixed! :)
Times ticking channel is using one of your screen shoots on hacking
;)
Omega aqua tera ultralight xD
Wish this line had a bracelet option. It is too hot where I live to have a textile strap watch.
So I've never understood that. Why wouldn't you want a strap for hot climates? Wouldn't the heat make the bracelet warm and uncomfortable? I'm not trying to rag on you just curious.
A black DLC coated shark mesh band would look awesome. Start clicking and search links.
the watch look sick but the hands are abit boring
I can see that.
prettt cool for a plastic watch :p
LOL
Nice but still think the name sounds like an ointment for genital warts
1st 😁
Congrats
i am afraid that this time you got too enthusiast,i just don't see it,too much money for little value, too big also, sorry Marc but this is mine opinion,i hope for you i am wrong, great video as always.
We shall see!
eat too much pizza, LOL
