Hi! You’re videos are THE BEST. I started weaving about 1 1/2 years ago and have learned so many skills from you. It took me a long time to grasp this Hem Stitch but I finally got it thanks to your clear guidance. Thank you so much for your generosity in sharing your talent and knowledge freely. Weaving got me through the pandemic and a recent surgery.
Thats great to hear! Tag us on instagram so we can see your work!
This video was so helpful! Jenell's instructions were easy to follow. I just used this tutorial to finish off a weaving and will be using it time and time again.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you, Jenell. Another helpful tutorial. Your teaching is very clear and informative. Love it!
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed it :)
I literally just finished my first tapestry aside from figuring out how to get it off correctly, so this was super helpful and perfect timing!
That's awesome! Thanks for watching :)
Omggg same here, exactly! I messaged some family members and I'm like, so I've taken up weaving now lol
@@chestuk68 I impulsively bought a loom right before we went into social isolation and my roommates teased me but it's been the only thing I look forward to lately so it was a great purchase!
I really needed to see this video to figure out the final stitching; I was just scrolling along, and vóila 💙 thank you so much! While in isolation, I've discovered the world of crafts via RUclips videos. ✌
As always, a friendly and informative tutorial from Spruce & Linen! 😍
Thank you! :)
Hi jennell live the hem stitch finish x end is so amusing x I'm sure it will have brought smiles to many faces x keep weaving x keep smiling x keep safe and well xxx Jen xxxx
Nice job! But I want to see how you took it off- does it still have fringes??
Thank you . So clear to understand
Glad it was helpful!
I love your tutorial I have learn a lot thank you ☺
Thank you!
I've watched this about 10 times and I still can't see what your hands are doing 😞. Future videos would you please zoom in on your hands?
Thank you
You’re welcome!
Thanks so much for all those awesome tutorials! I was wondering where you got those cute precision scissors? :)
You're so welcome! They're from the dollar store lol, they're not very good but they are cute! I'll be doing another scissors unboxing fairly soon that will include some better suggestions :)
@@spruceandlinen Got it thanks! I have a decent large pair but smaller ones could be handy!
After doing the hemstitch, what do you do with all the warp strings? If the strings are still too long for a dowel, am I supposed to tuck in the strings through the back still?
Check out this video at about 7:30 for how to deal with those top strings: ruclips.net/video/KJwOeoDIp8s/видео.html
Thank you so much for your content! Can this stitch be used for secure the bottom?
It could, but I would still do knots as well depending on how big/heavy your weaving is. Knots insure your weft can't go anywhere.
@@spruceandlinen I followed your easiest video and did knots at the bottom. Unfortunately I ended up with an odd number of warp strings; I had to make a couple of adjustments. How do I send you a pic of my finished work?
Spruce & Linen thanks for the answer! :)
Could anyone tell me how this would work on a wider warp, so the two strands can't really get pulled together? Can you just wrap around one and then go through the stitches as well?
Would a hemstitch work on uneven warps? I’m working on a 33 string warp weave. Thanks :-)
Definitely! I would just go under 3 warp strings instead of only 2 at one end to make it work.
I don't know if anyone to see this comment or not but I just bought skinny and I'm afraid I made a mistake? I work on miniatures and the yarn I'm using may not work?
If I do the hemstitch, can I cut the warp strings short so that I don't have the fringe, or...?
You would still need to tuck the warp strings in before cutting short, while hemstitch holds things together nicely, it will not completely stop your warp strings from slipping out if you cut them short.
@@spruceandlinen Thank you
Closer next time please? 😁
Répète this one plz k
We already did 😉 ruclips.net/video/0vccOsDq0vk/видео.html
