Kelly, honestly this was genius. After 3 bombs, half a bottle of rum and 12 cigarettes I was still capable of following these perfectly simple instructions to complete the perfect adjustable necklace. I can’t recommend this channel enough. Amazing

I am autistic and struggle to understand instructions unless they are crystal clear, and sometimes find online step-by-step tutorials hard to wrap my head around, especially since I can't ask clarifying questions as readily in an online context. But you explained everything so clearly and concisely that I understood immediately :D
Thanks Kellie, I broke an old necklace (and never got the knot tying merit badge in boy scouts) and was able to tie everything back together with this video. Over 2 years later your video is still helping people!
Tabatha Battencourt Isn't that the best feeling? It is even FAR BETTER than new!! I'm happy for you! you know the necklace my girlfriend gave me before we started long distance. yea, one, of those knots 2 came off, and i was so sad but i found you and your energy and i was able to fix it. thank u so so much
Thank you for this tutorial, Kellie. You truly saved me from despair and heartbreak. You are who Bonnie Tyler was singing about in her song " Holding Out for a Hero". Thank you so much! I wish you the best!!
Oh my God! Thank you so so much for this. You helped me fix my favourite necklace! It was a gift to me, so it was very special. Thank you so much for the simple and easy to follow tutorial!
10/10!! Out of all the videos I watched on sliding Knott's, YOURS WINS HANDS DOWN! it was your video that I finally got my FIRST EVER, SUCCESSFUL sliding knott! 🎉🎉🎉💜👍
I'm so excited, I've been wanting to make necklaces with the shells that I have been collecting. Wow, you made it so easy! I will be watching this tutorial AGAIN, thank you Kellie!
I watched so many videos to try to do this and I can confidently say I was completely and utterly unsuccessful at tying this damn knot until your absolute masterpiece of a tutorial. Thank you Kellie i love you🥲
Thank you very much! I’m making a friendship necklace for my friend as a gift for her over COVID/summer, and now I can be a show off and tell her it’s an ✨adjustable necklace✨
im 19 and ive been trying to do these for years and only do day i just googled it... this was easy and straight forward to watch thank you so much!! ive subscribed and will be watching more of your vids :)
I made my cross something special with this, in case somebody might need it more than me. I also love necklaces in general because they're really fun to make. Thanks Kellie!
Thank you so much for taking the time to make this. I was trying to use a photo tutorial and it wasn't working. With your video, I got it on the first try!
About 30 years ago someone gave me a Hawaiian fish hook pendant that was tied on a thin leather cord and these knots were tied and used to adjust the necklace. I could either wear it up close to my throat like a choker when swimming/diving or hung down lower casual when not in the water; I thought these were the coolest knots for this application so I carefully untied them and taught myself how to re-tie them over and over again, then using fresh cord to make sure I could do it scratch. Back then there was no RUclips so I'm sure your vid has taught countless crafters how to tie such a cool and useful knot!! Good one!!
Thank you so much! I have a bunch of necklaces I need to finish, I'm running out of supplies with no time to get more and this idea is so simple but very effective.
I'm so happy to learn how to do this! Great instructions, easy to follow along. 5 minutes later I've fixed a necklace I always liked but didn't wear because the length was wrong!
Thank you for such a easy tutorial! I'm fighting the big C at the moment and I've been wanting to make bracelets for my loved ones just incase I lose this battle and didn't want to use lobster clips etc as everyones wrist is different so thank you again. Hopefully it will all work out 🙂
Thank you for watching. I’m sorry that you are fighting such a lousy disease. I hope that you are able to create the pieces that you want to. It sounds like a lovely idea. Best wishes for your health. 🥰
Oh goodness don't talk that way! My mother also is fighting cancer and she keeps getting little stuff and doing little stuff like what you're talkin about and it just makes me want to ball and cry and then cry and ball up in a ball :-( I can't picture the world without her and I am not accepting all of this very well but it's new for me she already has been through a whole round of chemo and now they have found cancer again and they have found a spot on her lung and she has a few lesions in her kidney she just got stents put in in the middle of the night so fresh to me would be an understatement. They are saying that she has free cells cancer which I guess is their way of saying we don't have a freaking clue where this starts which bothers me with them doing different procedures on different parts of her it seems like when one thing went wrong with her uterus and she had cancer that started there supposedly that everything else just fell apart and sometimes she's beginning to talk about giving up the fight being that it's been almost a year and I just want to punch her in the face although I know that sounds very mean but I have been diagnosed with a terminal disease also and she would not let me give up or talk about snuffing it so she can't either! I guess what you're doing isn't so bad after all now that I think about it at least you are embracing it enough that you are doing Preparatory things instead of still lying to your family about how bad your health really is she still is lying and telling us things aren't that bad and she just did not tell us about the lesions in her kidneys she instead told us that there was swelling from infection that's why they were putting the stents in? :-( I can't stand all of this it really makes me want to crawl into a hole and die considering that I have vasculitis and have had three strokes and an aneurysm and have life-threatening blood pressure called uncontrollable hypertension and she is keeping me in the dark making my blood pressure worse when I do find out things it's making me feel pretty nutty and not in a good way but keep your head up whatever you're going through at whatever stage you're at keep your head up because attitude is everything it's just like the water you can put water in a church and you can put water in a prison and leave it for a few days and look at it through a microscope afterwards and it looks completely different from the two places one being a beautifully positive place and the other being a horribly negative place they did one with I hate you I want you to die and it looked almost just like cancer under a microscope! Just a thought.... Lots of love to you on your journey!
Thank you for creating this video. I was doin sliding knots all wront till today. Was doing normal double knots on the other cord, but now i can make them neat and beautiful. A really easy way to make sliding knots. I can only recommend this people!
Thank you soooooo much- my favorite zodiac necklace “broke” after wearing it constantly for months-- and I’ve been looking for a “simple” how to video!!! Have a great day!! Thanks again
Thank you for making this video. You just helped me save my favorite necklace. The knots came undone and I didn’t know how to remake them so thank you. 😁
Thanks a million. Being a guy, jewelry making is not not necessarily in my skill set but I bought a peice of jade from some junk shop 15 20 years ago and have had it ever since. At times i have bought the premade necklaces with clasps and have been severely disappointed at every attempt made thus far. This is exactly what i needed for a low key necklace. Between this technique and the micro cord i found on amazon for camping proposes, i am very pleased. Thank you again ...bear bag cord doubles as necklace cord. Never expected that
@Kellie's Bead Boutique I am so grateful for you sharing this video with us all. I have a favorite necklace my father gave me back in high school that is adjustable with these knots. I've already had the pendant professionally repaired and I was worried what I would do if the thin rope it was attached to ever wore to much. Now I know that I can rest easy since you've just shown me how to replace it myself. Thank you so much. This necklace means so much to me and not being able to wear it would just break my heart. Now I can rest easy.
Love this tutorial! I recently got a lovely cord necklace with metal clasps which unfortunately broke very quickly, so I'm going to replace it with sliding knots instead, should be a lot more durable. Thank you for this Kellie!
Thank You so much for this tutorial. My chain was leaving marks and I wanted a different length. I opted for leather cord for something different. These knots have made my adjustments much easier.
I apologize...the comment was not intended for erroneous lace but one I saw blaming the posting person for their own lack of understanding. I sincerely apologize for my misplaced comment.
Here I am 3 years later replacing my leather cord after breaking it. Found your channel again and I redid my bear claw necklace using your great instructions again. Thanx for your help. Best wishes, Robert PNW 🇺🇸
i watched like a hundred tutorials on this knot and it didnt work out. came across your video and i finally managed to do it. THANK YOU so much :) very clear and easy instructions in this video :)
Literally the easiest tutorial! I had to restart only once because I was mesmerized by how happy you are in the beginning. Nothing but smiles. Thank you so much okay have a good day
Hi Kellie, does the sliding knot look the same on the back and the front? I am asking because sometimes I see a cord going across the back side of the knot whereas the front is just straight wraps.
Both knots should look the same. If you have a cord across the knot it’s been done incorrectly. Always make sure to wrap towards your right hand, that’s usually where people go wrong.
Just looked how to do this cause I loved a nice thread necklace but didn’t have a way to shorten the thread to keep it at a nice level but also gave enough to fit over my head and I am ever so grateful for your wonderful tutorial!! I love this type of knit and I’m absolutely thrilled to be able to use it know!! Thank you so much!! 😁😁❤️❤️❤️✨✨✨
Fff I tied it and put it around my neck and i was so happy about the length after sliding them to fit my neck but i don't know how to slide them the other way. I look like i have a choker on rn
Hmm. Well I just grab hold of the knots and pull either way. When they are pulled tight, which it sounds like they are, you really have to get your fingers in between them and then pull them down. Once you figure it out it will be much easier. Also, the leather takes a bit to break in. Once that happens they slide a little easier. I hope this helps.
@@KelliesBeadBoutique Could you maybe carefully push a needle between a space in each knot (without puncturing the cord) and wiggle the needle until it loosened each knot up a bit? (Maybe slide the needle through a piece of beeswax or candle wax first?) Just a thought? I haven't tried it for this particular wonderful example in your tutorial, I am so excited to try😊🤗💜, of course, but it has worked for myself on another piece of jewelry? I may be way off here, but I am asking in advance just in case I may run into the same situation? Thank you in advance if you have the time to answer my question. I just subscribed to your lovely "Kellie's Bead Boutique" Channel! I'm in!!!!!! You made my day 😊😊😊😊😊
Gibby's Wife I’m not really picturing what you are suggesting. 🥴 Sometimes “speaking” Bead is hard. It’s sort of a combo of thing the knots tight enough that they don’t fall apart and then when you pull them tight not pulling them too tightly so you can’t get a grip on the knots. Hope that helps and thanks for subscribing!
@@KelliesBeadBoutique Thank you for explaining this. Sorry I was confusing, but I understand what you mean now. I was thinking of a different way, that most likely would not have worked for this one. You are so kind. Thank you again. I LOVE your Channel! Your way of explaining things is very clear. Thank you, yet again😊👍
Thank you so much. Just what I was looking for and it was first when I searched. It usually takes me watching the beginning of a few tutorials until I find one that suits and is so clear on instructions and visuals. Much appreciation from me ❤🍀👍
Sorry you totally lost me on the second knot. I can’t see all of the twine and have no idea which parts you were working with. Please pan out a bit and explain which parts of the twine you’re holding. Thank you
In my workshop, when I put on ma leather, and rock to sum Metallica, Delta Parole, Foo Fighters or the Smashing Pumpkins I feel like I can do anything in the whole wide world.
Thank you! You explained it so well that I was able to follow along with you step-by-step instructions. I had recently bought a necklace in which one of these knots had come undone, but all thanks to you it is as good as new!
Thanks Kelly. I like wearing cord necklaces and usually have ones with clasps, but they break easily. Your video is the solution I was looking for, which was easy to follow. I have now got sliding knots on all my cord necklaces.
Love this tutorial! Definitely easier to watch it being done on video rather than static words and pictures. So much easier! I’m allergic to metal so I have to get creative with cording. Awesome! Thanks!
Thank you so much! I tried another video which was basically the same thing, but could not see what the girl was doing at all, and it just wound up being confusing. You describe exactly what you're doing and despite the finicky-ness (?) of the little end pieces, you still managed to get good enough camera angles so that it's clear what you're doing. So easy to follow!
Thankyou so much Bought a necklace yesterday for my niece that she loves and the knot came undone as She was fiddling with it. I was able to fix it in 2 minutes before the meltdown started thanks to your vid :D
Great technique...I remember it from another one of your videos but couldn't remember which one. Now I've saved it to my library of wrapped items and can pull it out whenever I need to refer to it! Thank you for making your design so pretty but ohhh so simple to replicate!
im starting my own anklet business and only have waxed cord. square knots were NOT working in my favour but this know worked so well. so glad i came across this video 😁
I keep coming back to this video every time I do a new project. This is legitimately the simplest and easiest to follow tutorial for this particular knot, and I am very grateful that it exists!
Thanks a bunch. Broke a brand new necklace that I LOVED, first time ever actually wearing one, and thought I'd have to send it back to Amazon and get a new one. Instead after only 2 minutes it's as good as new, thank you!
Thank you so much, Kellie! This was so much easier than i thought, and you really did a great job of breaking it down! I can't wait to learn more from you! ❤❤
Thank you 😊. I have loved those knots and have struggled to get them exactly to my liking. Your video helps to know where I was in error. Your instructions were very helpful and easy to follow.
Thank you SO MUCH. I was Baptized into the Orthodox Church on Sunday and was given my first Cross necklace by my Godmother. It had knots like these but somehow became unravelled and I was getting kinda stressed out because obviously I want to wear it, particularly to Church this coming Sunday. It took a few minutes, but followed your instructions I got it done. No need for embarrassing questions from my Godmother about where my necklace is and why I'm not wearing it. Very grateful!
Thank you so so so much, I had just broken my necklace that lasted me a little over 1 year and with it being my lucky charm, this was a real life saver. Best and most concise tutorial
Thank you Kellie!!! I refound this at the perfect time. I was trying to remember how you did this, and failing. Now I have the necklace finished. Thank you 🎉😊
Thanks Kelly,My step dad showed me this when I was 13/14 ( in the 70's) but I forgot how to do it. Now that I'm retired I want to try to make some jewelry from small stones like he and used to. Thanks for the video

Thank you. ❤️
I did it guys. Thank you. It took me the length of the video but I use wire.
THIS WAS GREAT THANK YOU SO MUCH
You are very welcome. Thanks for watching.

Could you maybe carefully push a needle between a space in each knot
(without puncturing the cord)
and wiggle the needle until it loosened each knot up a bit? (Maybe slide the needle through a piece of beeswax or candle wax first?)
Just a thought?
I haven't tried it for this particular wonderful example in your tutorial,
I am so excited to try😊🤗💜,
of course, but it has worked for myself on another piece of jewelry?
I may be way off here, but I am asking in advance just in case I may run into the same situation?
Thank you in advance if you have the time to answer my question.
I just subscribed to your lovely
"Kellie's Bead Boutique"
Channel!
I'm in!!!!!! You made my day
😊😊😊😊😊
Gibby's Wife I’m not really picturing what you are suggesting. 🥴
Sometimes “speaking” Bead is hard.
It’s sort of a combo of thing the knots tight enough that they don’t fall apart and then when you pull them tight not pulling them too tightly so you can’t get a grip on the knots. Hope that helps and thanks for subscribing!

Thank you for explaining this.
Sorry I was confusing, but I understand what you mean now.
I was thinking of a different way, that most likely would not have worked for this one.
You are so kind.
Thank you again. I LOVE your Channel!
Your way of explaining things is very clear. Thank you, yet again😊👍
Kelli you have given so much to us you tube viewers! Thank you!💝🙏💝
💖💖💖
Every time she says “Once, Twice” in my mind I wanna say Three times a lady 😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣
Meeeeeeeee tooooooo😂 I just did that. Bahahaha
Thank you so much. Just what I was looking for and it was first when I searched. It usually takes me watching the beginning of a few tutorials until I find one that suits and is so clear on instructions and visuals. Much appreciation from me ❤🍀👍
You're very welcome!
Sorry you totally lost me on the second knot. I can’t see all of the twine and have no idea which parts you were working with. Please pan out a bit and explain which parts of the twine you’re holding. Thank you
I felt the same a bit lost too
Rewatch it, ive watched it twice and BOOM! GOT IT
Same, watched it at least 10 times and I still didn’t get it
You have to turn the whole necklace around. I was lost too.
Me too what other end 🙄
This was by far the easiest way I’ve found.. kudos to the instructor ❤❤❤😊😊😊
So glad!
In my workshop, when I put on ma leather, and rock to sum Metallica, Delta Parole, Foo Fighters or the Smashing Pumpkins I feel like I can do anything in the whole wide world.
🤣🤣🤣
Thank you! You explained it so well that I was able to follow along with you step-by-step instructions. I had recently bought a necklace in which one of these knots had come undone, but all thanks to you it is as good as new!
Who else is using this for the ties on their masks??
What a great idea!!
Awesome idea!
Thanks Kelly. I like wearing cord necklaces and usually have ones with clasps, but they break easily. Your video is the solution I was looking for, which was easy to follow. I have now got sliding knots on all my cord necklaces.
You are so welcome!
I don't know why, but I feel like I have an IQ of 5 when I do this lmao. I just can't make it
It can take some practice. Don’t give up. Watch it a few times without making anything. Just watch. Then try it. Do it lots. You can do it!
Lumi SAMEEE 😂😂❤️
Love this tutorial! Definitely easier to watch it being done on video rather than static words and pictures. So much easier! I’m allergic to metal so I have to get creative with cording. Awesome! Thanks!
my necklace is not even using cords, its using string... eh
Aside from the super simple and easy instructions, can we talk about how great the intro was?! Idk why its makes me so happy but I loved it!
Thank you! ❤️
Thankyou so much
Bought a necklace yesterday for my niece that she loves and the knot came undone as She was fiddling with it. I was able to fix it in 2 minutes before the meltdown started
thanks to your vid :D
That is fabulous! I’m so glad it helped.
You are a life saver! I always come back to this video, when doing a sliding knot. Thank you!
🥰🥰🥰
Great technique...I remember it from another one of your videos but couldn't remember which one. Now I've saved it to my library of wrapped items and can pull it out whenever I need to refer to it! Thank you for making your design so pretty but ohhh so simple to replicate!
That’s fabulous! I’m glad you can add it to your arsenal of techniques ❤️❤️❤️
thinking about different closure approaches for my cords that I'm making and I like the simplicity of these knots. thanks for teaching me!
You are so welcome!
im starting my own anklet business and only have waxed cord. square knots were NOT working in my favour but this know worked so well. so glad i came across this video 😁
Fabulous! Good luck with your new business.
I keep coming back to this video every time I do a new project. This is legitimately the simplest and easiest to follow tutorial for this particular knot, and I am very grateful that it exists!
That is fabulous! I appreciate hearing this as I often get complaints about how hard it is. 🤷♀️
Thanks a bunch. Broke a brand new necklace that I LOVED, first time ever actually wearing one, and thought I'd have to send it back to Amazon and get a new one. Instead after only 2 minutes it's as good as new, thank you!
Awesome!
Thank you so much, Kellie! This was so much easier than i thought, and you really did a great job of breaking it down! I can't wait to learn more from you! ❤❤
Awesome! Thanks for the kind words. 💖
Thank you for taking the time to share your technique. I hope you have an incredible day you beautiful soul.
Thank you! You too!
Thank you 😊. I have loved those knots and have struggled to get them exactly to my liking. Your video helps to know where I was in error. Your instructions were very helpful and easy to follow.
Glad I could help!
Fabulous! I’m glad you are able to wear your necklace.
Thank you. I make necklaces with the adjusting cord, but your knots look much nicer. Thanks!
Thank you a lot! It saved me from giving to my fiance an "incomplete looking" necklace as a Valentines gift. Thank you very much.
Wonderful!
Thank you so so so much, I had just broken my necklace that lasted me a little over 1 year and with it being my lucky charm, this was a real life saver. Best and most concise tutorial
Awesome. I appreciate the kind comments.
Thank you Kellie!!! I refound this at the perfect time. I was trying to remember how you did this, and failing. Now I have the necklace finished. Thank you 🎉😊
This helped me a lot, bless your soul ❤
Glad it helped!
Thanks Kelly,My step dad showed me this when I was 13/14 ( in the 70's) but I forgot how to do it. Now that I'm retired I want to try to make some jewelry from small stones like he and used to. Thanks for the video
Awesome! I’m so glad I could help. 😀
I love everything you make. We have the same taste in jewelry. And we are both addicted to earrings !
Thank you! ❤️
