In a moment of having some clarity without weeping, I wanted to mention that whenever I see videos that have been slowed down during times they are looking at each other, you can see how much they are attracted to each other since the first time they are ever together. Their gaze is intense even if fleeting.
Thank you so much. I know some people are a little worn out by the sad content, and I understand that sentiment. Yet, this poem spoke to me, and I had to share the healing grief. Some of us aren't done crying yet. :(
@@Sendarya I wonder if Mr. Gaiman had any idea this would wreck as many people as it has? He knew it was going to upset people, I'm sure, but I wonder if he underestimated the degree to which that ending would trigger actual grief in all its shades.
This is fantastic. I didn't read the notes ahead of time and I thought "This sounds like Auden." Then I verified it was and I started swearing on him. "F-ing Auden's making me cry again."
I wonder that as well. He obviously meant it to hurt, but does he know the sheer ongoing pain this would cause so many? IDK, but it's going to be legendary in a decade. This might be THE love story of the century.
I just tried watching/listening again as I returned to it to read the other comments which I couldn’t handle after watching it this morning. I couldn’t do it. The feelings are just too raw. Nevertheless, I’m glad you made it.
I'm sorry. I know that this hits hard for the people it resonates with. I'd be lying if I said I didn't cry quite a lot while making it. It's in honor of everyone we love and lose.
This is hands down the most powerful fan vid I’ve seen in the past 6 weeks. And I’ve watched all of them. The poem, the minimal music and your exquisite choices of clips are… effective. I’m grieving, I’m praying for them, I feel compassion for each of them and sorrow for what stands in between them. Brava, this is a masterpiece
Echoing other comments, this is criminally underviewed. Beautiful and thoughtful, only possible from someone who has put in the time to understand the characters and themes. So so good and gosh what a heartbreaker, I hope they get the (creators’ truest vision of a) happy ending this fandom is desperate for 💛
Thank you. I made it knowing it wouldn't get many views. I made it because I needed to make it, and I wanted to share it with those who would also understand. ❤️

That is amazing! My compliments and congratiulations to a video well done. I love the poem and in combination with that haunting melody it is really touching. Thank you for that.
I love your choice of poem and poet… Is this read by Auden? His life story is so painfully perfect for this video, adding a beautiful ribbon of unspoken analysis that you’ve done. Just exquisite. My literary analysis brain is just buzzing!
It is not read by Auden himself. The info for the music and the reader are below. And thank you :) This piece really spoke to me, and Auden's life does add an extra layer to those feelings.
Gorgeous, beautifully done. You know, I would be interested in your take on the line "no nightingales" in that heart-crushing scene. It's so loaded, but I feel like I am missing something (maybe everything). What's are your thoughts on that bit?
Thank you so much for your lovely comment. :) As to nightingales, there is quite a weight of literary meaning behind that particular bird, especially concerning lovers and loss. A nightingale singing in the city is supposed to represent the impossible. In Good Omens, God confirms it does happen, which is the opposite of the famous poem concerning a Nightingale singing in Berkley Square, in which it is implied that it didn't happen. So I think for this relationship, it represents how unlikely, perhaps even seemingly impossible, is their love. In s1, the nightingale sang, they were together on the same track. for s2, it's absence represents more of the mourning aspect of older uses of the nightingale in poetry and literature. For s3, let's all hope it comes back to representing the strength of their seemingly impossible love. I have this on my list of topics that I would like to cover in a video, hopefully more thoroughly than this! I hope that helped you understand the point of the nightingales?
@@SendaryaThank you so much! I knew of the song, but not of the symbolism. Crying even more now, Neil picked this song to represent the love that wasn't supposed to be. Amazing! 😢
This just popped up when I checked RUclips this morning. I can’t believe how deep this reaches into ones soul. I don’t know how you managed to put this together, how you could focus on the technicalities of constructing this video without finding yourself in a puddle of tears. How you thought of this poem to express what has happened. I wish everyone who loves Good Omens, is completely smitten with these characters, would find this video. I tried tell myself, once again, that these are just two superb actors acting out a story written by a superb writer to try to get control of my emotions. But it doesn’t help. I still weep. I’ve watched this 4 times in a row and still all the grief, sorrow and regret is just as intense. Now I have to get through the day without thinking about this and bursting into tears. 😬 I suppose it brings up, at least for me, past regret that cannot be left behind. Now I need a break but I know I’ll watch it again. I’m a glutton for punishment and catharsis. You are a master at constructing these videos and publishing your analyses. I’m so glad I have discovered you.
watched for first time today - a bit down re the timing for S3 and hoping D Jacobi et al. will maintain their health and interest in the project. Not conjuring to wallow in the dismay and distress of the last 15 but to appreciate the Auden buttress of that difficult scene. Thanks.
I made this right after my mom passed away, so it has a lot of that feeling in it. Making it really helped me cope with that. I admit, it's a serious downer.
💙 just wow!
I’m not crying, you’re crying.

Their onscreen chemistry is *chefs kiss
@@Sendarya chefs kiss.. never heard of that. What exactly does it mean?
@@Sendarya May I ask again, what a “chefs kiss” is?
You made me cry but I couldn’t look away.
Awesome thanks 😢❤❤
I love this !
So moved...I have tears but no words. Thank you for this.
It’s a crime that this doesn’t have more views. Beautifully put together and has me sobbing 😭

So very beautiful, so very heart wrenching. 😢😭💔

😭😭😭😭😭😭
This is so fucking beautiful I'm in shambles... I just watched it 3 times in a row and I'm just lying here in a pool of my own tears.
I am so sorry. But also, I hope you find the crying healing, in the long run.
This is gorgeous ❤ the poem, the recital, the music, the edit. It will haunt me as a sad, lonely ghost I wish I could hug.
Thank you for the lovely compliment. I'm very glad you found it so touching.
This is absolutely amazing! Beautiful and poignant, and so unique by using a poem. I don't think I've ever seen that done before.
Thank you so much. :) Poetry is, perhaps, underappreciated in modern culture.
This is absolutely gorgeous!!
Thank you. ❤️
back again, need to get the poem where I can re-read it. This guts me all over again... and somehow it is vital that i feel these things. 😔
The poem is in the description, if that helps. I am glad this speaks to others, as well.
This made my deep blue eyes misty. So cinematic, thank you!

Oh my! That was beautiful! And it's WH Auden who wrote "Stop all the clocks" (Four Weddings and a Funeral). Damn, that hits even harder now 😢
