Joe's neighbors are like "What in the fuck are these grown ass men doing dressed up playing wizards in the yard on a work day?"
Dude, by now they're probably like "Shit is it that time of the month already?!"
Joe's neighbors are 100% used to it by now

"SHUT UP! *Flicks wand*

Oh damn, they prob gonna upload video soon enough, their neighbors must be thinking like that.
“Your bigger than my dad!?” “That’s too bad for your mom” this skit was amazing.
Comedy indeed 😄👍

f*cking kids🤣
The architecture of Hogwarts was like 5x better than I could imagine. I think it's bigger than the books or the movies ever depicted.
I thought the same. Even though a lot of the corridors and rooms were inspired from the movies, they really did an amazing job of putting everything together.
@@HelenaHadesMy mom who doesn't play video games, nowadays when she visits me, she asks me to start hogwarts legacy so she can explore the castle, it's all she does too. She loves the books
Now you know you’re exaggerating bro lol the movies are timeless and the game is cool but hardly better than the movies depiction and imagination wise

At one point during this game I was just running around looking at textures because I was in awe at the level of detail and atmosphere 😅

@@homeuse-bw1ubbruh we all know that. Why do you even feel the need to mention RDR2?

That was an enjoyable video.

Seems like a paid boosted comment based on the channel
It was awesome
Careful.
The trannies are coming.
As you said it's a great foundation. I do wish they'd go for a more sim like game in the sequel. Go Bully with it. Have schedules and way more classes, better npcs for interaction, the house you picked should make a bigger difference, make the common rooms useful, morality system.
I find it a bit funny that there are unforgivable curses in the HP world, but then you can freeze enemies and then shatter them up in small pieces and for some reason that is all fine and dandy. The kill curse is small beans compared to that lol.
Aye, somehow lighting people on fire, freezing them solid, and then tossing them into the air, only to smash them face first into the ground, shattering them is considered fair-play self-defense. 😆😂🤣
But kill them instantly? NOOOOO, that’s unforgivable forbidden magic.
Because the spell used for freezing enemies and shattering them up serves other purposes rather than just murder. The Unforgivable curses were specifically designed for Murder, Torture and Control. They serve no other purposes.
@@scionofdorn9101because the spells used for those methods of killings serve a lot more purposes than just murder. It's a wizard's choice on how they choose to use those spells, Unforgivable Curses on the other hand serves no other purposes aside from killing, torture and control. They were specifically designed for that sake only.
@@laurakinney3767 Yep, it's like the difference between a knife and a gun. A gun is specifically designed to kill as quick as possible, like Avada Kedavra. A knife is used in the kitchen, as a tool to cut things, but you can also use it to cut a person until they bleed to death which is worse than straight up getting shot.
For me the most incredible thing in this game is the castle. It was made on a 1:1 scale of a real castle if there ever were a Hogwarts in real life.
I cannot even fathom the amount of work it took to make Hogwarts so humongous and so detailed.
Exactly and not only that but the world outside the castle is massive as well. Loving this game so much. Haven’t had this much fun since rdr2.
as someone who's not a Harry Potter fan in any shape or form the atmosphere and set design is so good, it just has that cozy and beautiful European architecture to how everything looks, how buildings and decor looks is amazing, the music is also pretty good.
It's a living breathing Hogwarts is what it is.
Looks like they're after getting paid handsomely for their work too. Massive seller.
1:1? So it's even bigger than the one in HP5?
I've never been a potter fan but this game makes me jealous. I want a Gandalf game like this. And the increased focus on character animations, clothing and graphics is phenomenal.
You mean you want a game with some passion? You don't want to just pay $70 to flick controller stick and mash buttons mindlessly? We should all buy and support games like these so shareholders start seeing the value in a good product
@@dixen9116 Yes, indeed. I barely know the 2nd thing about Harry Potter but I love a good Modern arcade action game and this is a _very_ Special entry. Lots of depth too, more than I have the time for at least!

@@Scantronacon Probably. Capcom are a buncha clowns, but they've been nailing the RE remakes at least.
@@judgedread9724 Well the Third one was eh but easily the weakest remake they did tbh
If they're going to do a sequel to this one (which i believe they are doing it 'cause this game was a hit in sales), i kinda want a more Bully approach to the classes and side activities, wich can integrate the points system so that by the end of the game we can see how gryffindor always win because plot.
Some exciting news for ya bud.
They are remaking the game "Bully" 😏
Gryffindor won because the supposedly heroic 5th Year Hufflepuff started using Crucio on people in the hallways for his own amusement.
JKR was involved they had to get her approval and wanted her to love it so it could be cannon in the harry potter world
This is the reason the game shouldn't be rated 10/10... It simply feels like it's iterating on the Ubisoft formula instead of taking advantage of the school environment it has...
Agreed, the first half of the game could be as a first year maybe this years characters sibling. Or just make it that in his 6th year he decides to follow the rules for the first half of the game
Got this game a few days ago. I didn’t have high hopes for it, if I’m honest. I wasn’t expecting anything better than a 7/10. Now I’m 20 hours in at level 22 and I’m hooked. So pleased with the game. It went far beyond my expectations.
It’s everything my childhood self wanted when I bought my first Harry Potter game and got horribly let down after realising I couldn’t explore all of Hogwarts and it was incredibly linear and boring. This game though, it is just… **chef’s kiss** 10/10
why u sound like a bot? is this 1 game u ever played or what?
I do find it funny that you can turn a dude into an explosive barrel but there's no spell for warping your inventory to storage.
a 10? HELL NO. The world they created in hogwarts legacy is downright beautiful, but god DAMN is this game boring as hell. It started off great for the first few hours, but that's basically all the game has to offer, as you will find yourself doing the same exact loop, over and over and over.
Glad someone else sees it. Didn't hate it but it felt very contrived and mcguffiny throughout. The story was extremely lack luster even if the combat is solid.
As far as Joe’s questions at the end, 37:48 , I think we have a few options that we will see. Possibly traveling to different schools, countries, Quidditch and quidditch World Cup, possibly an even greater enemy kind of like in the last few Harry Potter films where it felt like Harry really wasn’t in school anymore, Tri-Wizard tournament, so on and so forth.
Doesn't even have to be tied to Hogwarts at this point, and also next game could be set in the modern period post-HP saga
Yeah! Some of the dialogue options even get you to talk about the Wizard school in Uganda. That would be so sick! You are a genius!
@@SPREET5454 DLC with Quidditch and with Diagon Alley, sequel at a different school (preferably Uagadou or the american one )...and Imma preorder a deluxe again 😍
Tri wizard tourny hadn’t happened in like a thousand years in Goblet of Fire so the sequel would have to actually go back further in the timeline to do that without breaking the lore.
@@FlipFlab I’m pretty sure the first Tri Wizard tournament was held in 1294. So I’m pretty sure it wouldn’t break anything.
I'm sure Joe knows about this by now, but just in case: In terms of a morality system, there are multiple endings based on some choices to make in the game, ending the game with either a dark ending or not. Not a CRAZY addition, but nevertheless much appreciated. Gotta love the passion put into it.
Joe, have you ever played anything from ubisoft? This game has the same pattern, repeating itself milion times
Yess, Assassin's Creed and Far Cry lately. Noo deep story or smart dialogue
Damn I’m kinda salty this got a 10 but not Red Dead Redemption 2, I guess I’ll check it out.
10/10 Badass seal of approval! I freakin love this game and I'm starting my second playthrough as a Hufflepuff so I can do the Azkaban quest. From what I've heard the devs are hard at work to optimize the game for PS4 and Xbox One then hopefully they can concentrate on DLC.
Better than the Fantastic Beast trilogy. 😁
really enjoyed the game as well, the only downside is that for months on end they teased the idea that you choose your path, that you could become evil etc. The reality is that it was focused on one path alone and doesn't really give you an option (other than being rude to other students) to go down a dark path.
This year is turning out to be great for games so far. I've never seen back to back 10/10 games on Joe's channel.

Never occurred to me to use that combo. Now I gotta just to see, you know, for academic purposes of course.
Dude, the combo system is great with all the possibilities of providing a slow dead and still call yourself from Gryffindor 😂.
25:11 That's actually a picture of Wendelin the Weird. When they used to do Witch burnings, the Witches and Wizards would cast a charm on the fires, so all they felt was a light tickling. Wendelin the Weird liked it so much that she allowed herself to be caught and burned 47 different times in various disguises.
A pretty cool bit of lore that they added in!
What a kinky witch
That's the kind of ridiculous lore I need.

Thank you.
Backstory is AWESOME!!!
Light tickling as in the flames wouldn't kill them and just tickle them? Or they altered their senses so they'd have a painless death? 😅
I'm assuming the first though.
This is the most book accurate depiction of Hogwarts I've ever seen. Everything from the kitchens to the common rooms even to little things that only appear once or twice in the books like the One-Eyed Witch passageway or the sliding stairs to the girls dormitories. The developers really paid attention to every description of the castle in the books and did a great job blending it with what we see in the movies.
And we finally saw peeves in all his glory)
Isn't this what we have been waiting for so long? This game is such a nerd dream come true that I unironically love the fact that it finally was made.
Yea I even remember reading about that witch in the painting, she enjoyed being burned at the stake so much because the charm she used made the flames tickle that she was burned like 13 times.
Except according to some, they might have gone a bit too much with all the stairs in the castle, that and having the main character say something every single time they do an action like fast traveling or when they head to town as a couple of examples.

- More consequences for using Unforgivable Curses
I love how you said house point system twice. I don't know if it was by accident or not, but I feel like that's such a key part of Hogwarts that it deserves the attention and really should be part of a DLC/update/sequel.
TBH a sequel would not be as much as a success since we basically explored all of hogwarts and its outer regions, how they can still wow us with a sequel with basically the same exact map would be kind of redundant.. I'm still hoping they retract their statements and actually give us expansions of progressing through the last 2 years of schooling.

Alex is actually a really good actor
It's a line that a 5 year old would use.
Listening to Joe describe the combat makes me seriously question why the quick and painless death spell is somehow the one that’s forbidden.
Cause it has no purpose other than killing. Every other spell no matter how much more destructive or “painful” has other uses than just murdering someone
Because of its implications and complications.
A quick, painless and traceless death is a nightmare to deal with regarding law enforcement.
On the implication part, it is because it's got no other purposes than killing people, and one can never truly use an excuse of self-defense or similar, because there's plenty of options to incapacitare opponents and the Killing Curse REQUIRES killing intent, it does not work if that last part isn't there.
So basically, it is a perfect assassination tool that only works when somebody truly wants to kill whatever they use it on despite always having other tools at their disposal, ergo it is forbidden.
Well it’s really because you can’t defend against it. It’s basically cheating.
Because AK has no there purpose then to kill and more importantly it is was the ease that one can use it that makes it terrible and unforgivable.
I also don't believe they are 100% illegal to use. I think there's a Ministry of Magic job that is allowed, under strictly controlled circumstances, to use them. I might be wrong on that though.
The skit where they list all the horrible things your character can do in Hogwarts Legacy is the funniest part of this whole experience. Voldemort who?? This fifth-year made him look tame!
He used the unforgivable curses. Every. Single. Day.
Too bad that if you use any of the bad spells you get the worst ending.

Having a house point system can be very useful in lieu of a morality system. You can be free to do bad things but getting caught can lose your house points, while doing certain good things gives you points. It's quite simple but it can make things interesting, maybe your fellow house members may act more hostile if you keep losing them points for example.
Just imagine walking around the neighborhood and you see AJ OJ and Alex just screaming spells loudly while pretending to be in excruciating pain dressed like Harry Potter characters. 😂

Hah but its accurate. A student uses all the curses and kills probably a thousand people and other creatures and then goes back to studying like nothing. The casket of the Goblet of Fire in the Trophy Room, the Deathday Ballroom from the book of Chamber of Secrets, the One-Eyed Witch passage that leads to Honeydukes, & even little things like the statue of Boris the Bewildered right next to the Prefect’s Bathroom just like it’s described in the book of Goblet of Fire.
There’s even a main quest that involves the Deathly Hallows!
You guys like Harry Potter huh
That’s CRAZY attention to detail and the source material. Granted, I read the books like 20 years ago so I don’t even REMEMBER those specific details but it’s incredible that they thought to put them in, nonetheless.
@@thomasglover3834 Ssshhh 🤫 don't out us like that!
Most of these references were most likely made by Rowling herself and I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out she was behind much of the artwork as well, the same way she had been for the original games. Of course they have to keep up the charade that she wasn't involved to placate the Twitter mob (which, as it turns out, is completely powerless when it comes to influencing consumers' choices, which is a good takeaway for the future), but I can assure you that she was, and intimately so. Log into the lead writers' inbox, you're sure to find hundreds of e-mail threads exchanged with Rowling.
You gave in to the hype Angry Joe. While it's true that Hoghwarts Legacy excels in several aspects, it falls flat in many others. The result is mediocre and feels lifeless and uninspired in this day and age. It gets more obvious the longer you play it. It's a shame, because the potential is clearly there, but this game is just a beautiful hollow shell of what could have been :(
I get that you are a fanboy (me too), but you should dig deeper in your reviews, don't get old and lazy yet! ;)

Maybe if they make a sequel, it could have your character entering the Ministry of Magic, getting to explore the different facilities and history, and you could take jobs as an Auror or an investigator of enchanted objects and creatures. Maybe it could even let you Obliviate muggles during a mission.
That would be an amazing game. I pretty much thought of myself as a 21 jump street auror lol, with my dragonskin coat and duelist mask making me not look like a student at all.
They could put Quidditch in!
I think that would fall apart extremely quickly. The Harry Potter Universe only works well in the constrained setting of the school. Any time you explore the greater magical world and its like looking at swiss cheese. Nothing makes sense, and a ton of the magic and wonder is lost once you enter the "real world"
Sequel is alreadu confirmed
@@kylegardner6272 I would love a kindom hearts 3 type sequel. Where you play the background character of the harry potter books whos actions actually help the canon happen. Kibnda like Sora did in KH3.
This game was incredible. And imagine what they could add in a sequel. We could have quidditch, the tri Wizard tournament, possibly delving more into Azkaban, or it could be even set at one of the numerous other wizarding schools in the world, such as the one they mention in Uganda. I’m so excited for more of these games
I really hope JKR does SOMETHING about this in the future and stops these wackos from ruining the original storyline or nosediving the franchise like they did with rings of power.
@@russellwilliams4317 But JK is really bad at making sequels to Harry Potter lol
Man... you can tell someone is young from their enthusiasm for things that will eventually happen but suck. You'll figure it out, kid, hopefully. Don't just be another franchise slut like Star Wars or LOTR fans.
Please stop buying trash just because you recognize the name. It's pretty clear you don't know what quality actually looks & feels like.
But the Triwizard made no sense in the books. A kid couldn't just say: "Nope, I have no idea how to do this." But instead had to TRY fighting a dragon or swimming under water for 45 minutes while adults watched and cheered them being mauled or drowning? They couldn't take a pass at all, else the entire thing with Harry could have been easily avoided by him just being allowed to say: "I'll take last."
And the games also made no sense, as well as entire schools needing to move into the host school. "Well, screw your education for this year."
If they did the Triwizard, it would be like four basic mini-games that would take like 30 minutes at most.
I truly felt like a kid again reading the books for the first time as I played Hogwarts Legacy. I explored every inch of the castle.
Holy fuck Alex’s line delivery at 8:30 had me CRYING HAHAHAHAHA
The house distribution for Alex and OJ was just perfect! I can easily see Alex being the snooty know it all Ravenclaw and OJ being the happy go lucky Hufflepuff! Perfect skits as ever!

I must have cast revelio 2000 times but I explored every single inch of that game, it looked amazing and boy, talk about wish fulfilment. I wanted more lessons, I really did, I would happily sit through a whole real life year's magical school education.

Careful, Hermione was practicallythe schools bookworm and teacherspet, but even she felt a bit sleepy during binns class at times. But Agreed though I would need to brew some wideye potions for history of magic (the option to continue the conversation with Binns and qte of staying awake is a nice touch).
I'm not a HP fan but this game really looks great with its amazing details. Imagine if an open world Middle Earth RPG made like this much detail and love for the lore.
Well there is the The Lord of the Rings Online MMO but it is from 2007. For now that's as close as we can get until they decide to make another open world Middle Earth
And this game was the long lost sequel of bully 2 despite its the PG version
Going by Hogwarts Legacys timeline, it will take almost a decade of love, care & attention to detail. Generally, sheer effort.

Amazing game! One thing I got way too excited for was did anyone else for a moment think we’d be able to go underwater more so than we did with the “Diving” side mission? That would be something awesome to add in a future game. Bubble charm or take some gillyweed.
Absolutely, I reckon gillyweed, Diagon and Nocturn Alley, London and greater interaction with the NPCs is almost guaranteed for the sequel. I hope they do at least one more sequel before showing us other schools!
Or turn into aquatic life, like Viktor krum.
I actually avoided that quest for a long time as I hated the ideea of going underwater, but the merfolk quest where you do go into an underwater cavern was cool, albeit too short and I dont think you ever see merfolk in the game

For sure, but it wasnt just that, it was like oh shit, they really just killed that dude in the first 30 seconds 🤣🤣
The effort they put into authenticating the whole experience alone is exemplary.
I think for me it would be this year's apex example of silent storytelling. That particular moment is on par with Arcane's Ekko-Powder fight.

Angering Twitter freaks is the only good thing that came from HL, in fact this game is no better than average Ubisoft open world
quiet nazi troll, sorry but Joe really let his nostalgia cloud his judgement here, Yahtzee's review is far more accurate, he said it started out good but once it got to the open-world stuff the facade was revealed and it turned out to be another jiminiy-cockthroat game with the same bland copy-pasted open-worlds fighting the same 2 enemies the whole time with a lame nonsensical plot.
I don't even care about the controversy but the game truly looks like shit, Joe really lost credibility with this review IMO.
If you're a fan of the Wizarding World then I can see why you would give this game a 9 or 10. They did a pretty damn great job with just exploring the world.
Well the world design itself is good, but the game overall is definitely not even close to a 9 with those fetch side quest severe repetitiveness and robotic npcs
@MaSs1V31 I'd give the game a solid 8, it's a great game just a few issues and wish there was a bit more interaction with the environment👍
I'm a fan and I wouldn't even give it an 8. They definitely have a great foundation with the combat and how they've modeled the world, but the actual content is VERY lacking.
Like you either do fetch quests, or repetitive and shallow side activities. One of them is literally just landing on a platform. No precision, no challenge, just fly up to a random platform and dismount. Congrats, that's content right there.
Main story is serviceable, not great not terrible, but the cutscenes are amazing. Outside of them, even with the relationship stories with the trio in the game, you basically do the same thing as in the shallow open world, just with more cool cutscenes and actually decent writing, especially with Sebastian. But then you also have the game become basically a Revelio, aka another Witcher sense sim. But again, it's nothing groundbreaking or even top of the line.
As a game it's just serviceable. I'm not saying it's bad, because they clearly have potential to make the sequel great and so I'm glad it sells like hot cakes. It's just not that great, I've enjoyed it enough to put 52h into it, but I'm never going back to replay it, cause there's frankly nothing TO replay.
He gave it a 10 out of 10. There was no 9, but yea, I understand what you mean regarding other reviewers.
@@MaSs1V31 main story kicked ass. Many side quests are great. So some are small ones. Who cares? More content is a good thing.

Not sure if that’s a good thing bro… lol
Same I wasnt even into harry potter but this game has so much soul to it. Has me on the 4th movie already.
Im actually pretty disappointed that this is one of the few games Joe has given a 10/10 in over 15 years. Let me start off by saying that the beginning of this game was AMAZING. if you are a harry potter fan then experiencing the castle for the first time is probably everything that you would've hoped for. It felt alive, you had the moving staircase, secret rooms, ghosts, animated paintings, quirky students and classes etc. You get to experience nearly everything that makes Harry Potter feel intriguing, and it's probably the best harry potter game ever made. If you are a casual gamer or someone whose nostalgia will carry you through almost anything, then I recommend this game 100%. In fact, I would recommend this game to anyone who is feeling even a little nostalgic because you will satisfy that urge to experience harry potter without a doubt, although be warned that you may end up caring a little bit less by the end of it since it might not feel as magical once you've experienced it all yourself. As a game, I think this game fails at quite a lot and it doesnt do anything new. It doesnt perfect the formula nor does it revolutionize anything. I give it a 6/10 but definitely a must buy for some people.
After the first 10 hours or so, the stuff that impressed me on a first look, started to feel like routine. I wasnt impressed anymore by the moving staircases and paintings. You realize that everything is the same, over and over again. the castle stops feeling alive and begins to feel scripted. The mission structure began to overstay its welcome and it made me realize that every mission felt the same(both main and side quests). The npcs end up feeling very one-dimmensional, oftentimes only interacting with you if they're trying to give you a mission. They talk to the player as opposed to the character. towards the middle of the game, I ended up getting more and more frustrated at the level requirements to progress the story. I was being forced to do boring side quests just to complete the storyline(I usually dont mind side quests). at the end of it all, the story itself wasnt worth the effort. The combat is indeed fun but the enemy variety is extremely lacking. Every encounter feels the same. The spells are cool when used in conjunction, but even this is limited by the fact that you only have four spells available at a time and are required to switch pages for different loadouts. This would be fine, if you didnt have an abundance of useless or highly situational spells that take up these slots. You have to equip a spell to summon a crafting table, to conjure up food for animals, to conjure a brush to pet them, to repair broken things. The process of assigning these slots is not only tedious because its very easy to assign the wrong thing, but also quite cumbersome for the first 2/3s of the game. it slows the fights down and discourages you from using your spells the way you want to since youre more than likely going to need to reassign something mid battle. The biggest motivation to level up in the middle of the game was being able to upgrade the amount of pages that i could have simply to reduce the amount tedium that came with this system.
I could go on and on. I really wanted to like this game. Even my wife was really intrigued at first and was enjoying watching me play but she also got bored after the first section.
I understand that he is entitled to his opinion, but I would have hoped for a bit more objectivity from angry joe. This is definitely not a great 'game'. It might be a 10/10 'experience' for some. But for any veteran gamer, the flaws should stick out like a sore thumb. Giving this game a 10/10 over SO MANY amazing games that DO perfect the formula and DO revolutionize aspects of gaming is a great disservice to those games.
I hear you. Having play all kinds of games for almost 33 years now. This is not a 10/10 material, maybe at most 8/10

@phantomxero1x447 this game is known to basically have a fanbase that is ready to punish people for daring to have criticisms
Joe used to have much higher standards for a 10. If he gave out a 10 in the past it basically meant that the game was highly original and close to perfect. 10/10 means perfect so even really good games would only get a 9.
