I LOVE this Grand Cherokee. Looks amazing. I have one myself that's relatively clean, it's got some rust and rot in the common spots but the frame is good and solid and I wanna do some light modifying to it. Not quite as much as this but something similar with the roof rack and slightly bigger wheels on a 2 inch lift. Just something to hit some fun trails and mud without breaking anything Haha.

Mines a 2000 wj, switched from a 99 Cherokee lifted.. Quadratec is where I just ordered my zone lift with nitro shocks.. $1454.00 new 16 /265 mud tires!! Hopefully no rubbing..

2001 jeep grand Cherokee laredo 4x4 inline 6, 4.0 242 wj pretty clean for a michigan vehicle. Just a little bit of rust on one door. Passenger rear door. I got 400,000 miles on mine.
The car is cool.

I only payed $1000 for my 2000 Jeep WJ Laredo because the guy couldn't find a parasitic battery problem, which I painstakingly resolved. (Chrysler!). These jeeps are a lot of machine for a little scratch.

You should pull off the plastic rocker cover and check for rust. I have an 04 as well, currently doing rocker work. Im in Maryland so we are both in the salt belt.

You have a recall on your jeep for that hitch. jeep dealership will replace it w/ the factory mopar hitch integrated into your rear bumper so long as you havent' had it in for any recalls so far...just fyi.

4.7? I couldn't figure out where to put my CB so I just got one of the "everything on the mic" versions. Really wanted a standard one. Mines a daily driver so putting it there and trying to use the passenger seat just won't work. Perfect stance, great looking rig

What are the wheel specs offset? Width? I was always told 15’s didn’t fit on a wj. I have a limited v8 I might have bigger brakes I don’t know.
Lol i have 02 wj with alot of rust comtemplating getting another without the rust.
I had the v8 loved it, considering getting the 4.0 though it would probably easier to maintain?

Getting ready to trick out a 2002. Looks awesome. I think I need to redo the entire suspension. What did you start with?
Did you put resistors in for the led tail lights and how do you like the projector head lighs and did you use stock bulbs, HID or LED ? Jeep is beautiful. I am in NY and trying to keep mine from rusting.
Erik Knudsen Tail lights were completely “plug and play” and worked perfect, no hyper flash or anything. Headlights were amazing, I kept stock halogen style bulbs and the projectors made them way brighter and they have a perfect cutoff line at night, I guess the projector just scatters light way better than a reflector housing, I think LED/HID bulbs woulda made them incredible
Is there any minute details I should look at when shopping for these?
Make sure yiu get a v8 if you wanna go bigger tires that are closer to 33s , also if you find a v8 get one that has the double cardan front shafts most overland models have lifted suspension and stay under 2004 since these are the last years they have solid axle

You say it has 15 inch wheels. Mine has 16s and if you put 15s its lawful close to the brake calipers. Just wondering. Love the jeep though. Love it.
Definetly one of the slickest looking WJs Ive seen. I love that you didn't do a 6.5" lift because for a daily driver that is overkill.
Also, haven't seen too many of the WJs with that dark Green, it is sharp.
Im going 3" lift on my WJ here soon, didn't want to deal with drive shaft angles, even though I have the double cardon driveshaft.

Thanks! Yeah def not a common color for these wj’s. Yours Jeep is going to be bad ass too, 3inch lift looks so good and will make the already capable Jeep practically unstoppable! Yeah I sold it a long time ago, biggest mistake ever. I actually just saw it on the road last week in the town I work at; so if I ever catch the owner I’m going to offer to buy it back from him haha
@@coejbee Yeah they are fun vehicles, I had a TJ Wrangler a few vehicles ago before the WJ, i love the WJ. The only thing I liked more about the TJ was taking roof and doors off in Summer when I lived in NC.

Super nice 4x4 WJ!! I’m contemplating on buying one of these for a daily/hunting vehicle but I’m afraid of the reliability, I’ve had bad experience with Jeep in the past and I can’t make up my mind 😔

Cheapest thing about a jeep is the owner..
I had to rebuild my headers after my wife over heated it. While it was a pain.. the set up allows the weekend warrior to wrench with just a bit of senior guidance. Being able to get out of town is worth it.

Nice Ride! Are those 5x4.5 or 5x5 lug pattern? Do you have spacers on there?
The standard WJ lug pattern is 5x5 127mm.

I had the lift for more than 3 years before selling the Jeep, never had any sagging or sitting uneven in that time

How does it ride?
I bought those IRO C-gussets, but due to circumstances I didn't install them. Their tech dept said I may have to grind/clearance the gussets to install on any WJ. Did you have to do that?
X Mo yeah there was some grinding. I actually bought some teraflex C gussets for my JK a few years ago, and they were just simple weld on pieces, but no where near as beefy as the IRO gussets, so I think the extra work for the IRO ones is worth it in the end

X Mo Short arms. It rode better than a stock Jeep. Stable and smooth. But I replaced every single suspension and steering component when I put the lift on, so I couldn’t tell you how it’d ride if it was installed on a worn out Jeep

The 15x8s clear the stock calipers or did you change them?
I was thinking about running 15s but heard it may not clear the calipers.
Wow those arn't that bigger tyre but they stick out pass the guard to be illegal in our country....shame jeep has such so small wheel arch
do you know the exact brand or what website you bought the shackle mounts?
The brand is Fawkes Fabrication. I purchased them directly from Fawkes Fabrication's website. That was back in 2014 though, so I'm not sure if they're still around or not. (Edit: check out HK Off-road, they sell a shack mount kit.)

Did you have any issue fitting the 15inch wheels as far as clearing the brake calipers? Whats the offset and backspacing?
-Wheels are 15x8, 3.75 backspacing-Zero issues clearing the brakes. Idk why so many people say WJs can’t use 15 inch wheels. Maybe the V8 WJs have bigger brakes? But I’ve had 15s on multiple separate WJs & ZJs that I’ve had through the years and never had issues.
@@coejbee I have the same size wheel with 30/9.5/15 tires on my 4.7v8 and they fit. Little rub on the driver side front bumper but barely

When you lift a vehicle it extends everything up moving it farther away so you have to buy extenders or relocation brackets in order to have everything bolt up properly
