Bowie was offered this Bryan ferry Classic. He recorded it, but then Ferry urged him not to release it as he wanted to himself!
HERE IT IS! - THE FIRST TIME EVER HEARD!
David Bowie had so much respect for Bryan Ferry. They were never rivals, they simply appreciated each other’s talent
David Bowie and Bryan Ferry were my Mam's favourite musicians alongside Marc Bolan. She died ten years ago in April 2023 after a short battle with primary Lung and secondary Brain cancer aged just 55.
One of the things I always think about now is we sent her to see both Bowie (Glasgow 2004) and Ferry (Newcastle 2012) before she died. Her reaction over the phone to me as she was coming home from both concerts is something I'll never forget. Hadn't seen either since she'd been a teenager.
Amazing how much stuff like that means to you when somebody is gone. So worth the £100 we spent on tickets. £50 each was unbelievable like.

Bowie’s sound quite dry and unprocessed, very interesting, love to know more about this track, sounds like Bowie doing a quick one over the backing track. Fabulous!!!

Awesome but I prefer the Roxy Music hit. It’s okay cuz Bowie did Fame with Lennon…I was 13 in ‘75 and addicted to my little battery-operated radio. Took it everywhere with me that summer. Good times even if the economy was a dumpster fire 🔥 😂
