      If he had filed a countersuit, then he probably would have succeeded on that claim and not only avoided paying the other person's court costs, he would likely have recouped his own court costs and possibly his lost time.

    I hate that happened to you. Scammers are out in full force. It’s a shame because that truck is worth much more than you were asking. He wasn’t wanting the truck, just an excuse to extract money. A true truck restorer would have been thrilled at your price.

    • @skeeet5758
      @skeeet5758 4 месяца назад

      I would have to disagree with you that truck. Is what it is it's a junk scrap truck. Not saying it couldn't be restored but the amount of money that you would put into something like that it makes no sense. It could be done something with an old hot rod or rat rod the eye of the person that would rebuild that is different than what I would think it would be done with it. $700 is a stretch in my opinion and what it's worth 500 bucks sure but I think they're in Pennsylvania or something so things are more money honestly he would probably end up losing money on that deal if it did go through just because of the taxes out that way. He got done dirty and I honestly think the guy would have almost paid you $2,000 just because of the kind of guy he is and I'm sure his folks were on board was just like give him $2,000 in hush him up

Save yourself a lot of anguish if there is a next time, and continue doing the right thing and you will always prevail. Even if you give him cash he could turn around and said you never paid him, or the cash was fake and want even more money. Charge him storage fees for storing his truck lol.

    I've been accused of things I didn't do as well. I had to defend myself against an educated attorney who didn't care if I was innocent or not . They just wanted to win and to see me punished.
    The people accusing me were actually the ones guilty of the crime in question. Actually, they did worse. I tried 2 years prior to go after them in court, but because of court and attorney fees, they got away with taking more than $40,000 from my elderly father inlaw. It was supposedly in a bank account for him, but the money never made it to him. Even after he passed, they never turned over the money, helped cover his funeral expenses, or even showed up to his funeral.

Maybe that was his way of trying to squeeze more money out of you which wouldn’t surprise me. He says he wants the truck and then he backs out, and then he purposely does not get back in touch with you, and then claims that he has made a court date For you, whether that is true or not and tries to get you to pay for his court fees, so on top of it, he’s making double on an item he didn’t even really want. You should have counter sued that dude for your time involved (time away from the greenhouse), travel expense to your bank to cash the money order and travel and time to court. I'm no attorney but the few times I had to defend myself the judge ruled in my favor. You have to watch how you explain things and choose the correct words. The same thing can be said with a positive influence or with a negative influence it's all in how you word it. Counter sue and with everything positive in your favor and show the bad faith and negative dealings the other dude put forth and that dude would be paying you.

    You did everything honestly with telling people what order in line they are , do everything through text or email a have specific time frames of getting things done and fees if they send money and change their mind and you have to send money back what you will charge them for that right down to the stamp and envelope... you don't even have to speak in court just present the printed out conversation evidence to the judge that's the contract and case is over

    That guy was a scammer! I hate for you that you had to go through all that, so wrong!! Many years ago I got sued by a neighbor when I remodeled my kitchen of my Condo. One of her cabinets fell because apparently her cabinet and mine were hung with the same 9" carriage bolt. She knew something was wrong but wouldn't tell the guys doing the work in my kitchen. Anyway, we went to court, she made an A$$ of herself, it got dismissed because as the judge said "she did not prove negligence", and for me to be negligent, I would have had to know the cabinets were hung that way, it would have had to be documented in the Condominium documents/bylaws. It was small claims court, she tried to sue me for the max of $2500. I had an attorney retained by my insurance company. It was sad for my neighbor because she wasn't even nice to the guys from my insurance company that would have paid her something!
