    I put a set of these on my '96 Ram /w/ the 5.9 360 & I'm well satisfied. I have a few additional tips for anymore followers. #1 Lube the head of the pedestal bolt to help prevent the rocker from trying to twist while tightening the bolt. Even still make sure the tip roller ends up centered over the valve stem & each rocker perfectly in-line to prevent bad geometry & wear. #2 If you have a 5.2 liter engine, they have a different cam which has .020 more lift so pay closer attention to coil-bind.

    I drive it like i stole it every day works perfect i love it leave the baffles under the pcv and breather(cut around them).

  • @Joshcheyka
    @Joshcheyka 11 лет назад +2

    Get your Intakes belly pan gasket changed and don't be fooled by the aluminum plate fix for it either, just use copper permatex with the felpro gasket, should fix your ping and bring back lost power. Do that along with a full tune up.

  • @jeepmanmudding
    @jeepmanmudding  11 лет назад +1

    You need to leave the baffle underneath the pcv valve and the freash air vent just hammer it down some and use the stock pushrods

    I highly recommend you toss that plastic intake hat and replace with a 4" aluminum Spectre 98499. I posted an Amazon review comparing the two. Made a yuge difference in my ZJ.

  • @jeepmanmudding
    @jeepmanmudding  11 лет назад

    Yes,stock guides and stock push rods.just make sure you have 0.060 before coil bind.

    I did up a 360 magnum about 5 years ago. it was running about 300 + hp. not bad for a motor with 350000 hard k on it. but enough about the 360. not that I don't like it. im just workin on somethin different. I gotta 318 magnum that im changing heads and doin roller rockers and a bit of a port. am also changin intake plenum and bigger throttle body, msd ignition, e3 plugs. e3 plugs do work good. under hood cold air ram air intake ( built that myself ) accept filter. its k&n. MBRP exhaust and AMSOIL EVERYTHING! not that I can take anything away from the 360. mine took a lot of shit from me. so the 360 is a great motor. its just that I have always favored the 318.

    Omg Greg! It's the same motor that in a ram. Just in a jeep w/e works in a jeeps motor will Wrk in a dodge motor 3.9-5.2-5.9

    how are these rocker working a year later? have you looked to see if the there is wear? the head on the 5.9 is identical to the 5.2 and the springs can handle .500 lift so these would work great in theory

    I know this is an old video but did you just buy the 1.72 kit. And it all bolted up perfect using stock springs pushrods and guide plates with no issues? I’m trying to find a cheaper source then Harland Sharp. I didn’t want to use the 3/8 conversion for Chevy rockers.

    did you see performance improvements after those rockers?

  • @johnrussell6080

    Do you have the part number for those rockers? Also, you may have mentioned it, but assuming direct drop in? Same push rod length?

  • @MDATVRIDER
    @MDATVRIDER 11 лет назад

    My 5.9 is has similar rockets. The baffles have also been removed.
    Do you have a breather cap on any of the oil filler holes?
    Mine has one, with an extension tube, but it still gets oil coming out of it after a while.
    I of course have one of the four oil filler holes going to the PCV.
    Thanks.

    Have a 5.9 transplanted in my TJ, had a stroker mustang that I never used comp cams 1.7 roller rockers, wonder if they’d work on my 5.9 Mopar? Harlan wants $430 for theirs.

    Thats awesome, many of the companies for the 5.9 Magnum are like twice the price for the rockers!. Did they come with the push rod guides?

    I've finally got some spare cash to blow, so I'm gonna pull the trigger on a set. Do I have to get studs or can I use the stock Dodge Rocker arm bolts? and also, do I mount the rockers on the stock dodge push rod guides? thanks much!.

  • @backroadwarrior

    In addition, the computer will have to re-learn the new air-flow & idle parameters. My diagnostic computer shows the CPU increased the idle by 104 RPM to compensate for the manifold vacuum change. My truck has a very noticeable power gain during normal driving and loves Interstates, 2000 RPM & up. I really haven't matted it yet. As far as I've seen on mine, it hasn't hurt my mileage & not so sure it hasn't improved (with normal driving that is). Keep in mind my engine only has 10,000 miles on it

    How were you able to mount it? I know you used stock guide plate and pushrods and leave 60 thousands of inch gap but how was this roller rocker mounted by any chance thanks

    • @gibbles717
      @gibbles717 6 лет назад

      They are pedestal mount just like the stocks. Looks like supplied guide plates from scorpion. All small block rocker arms are virtually identical however the difference is geometry, aka rocker arm angle.

    • @ryano8613
      @ryano8613 5 лет назад +1

      You are going all wrong here Bailey Ferg. Do NOT do .60 lash or "gap", and the kit comes with GP's. The distance left before valve spring/coil bind or the spring is smashed Max is what he is referring to. Dummy terms.

      @@jeepmanmudding Thats great to hear. Was wanting to go with a .480/.480 lift cam but I think this will be far easier and quicker for me. Didn't have to change pushrods or shim under the rockers? I have an email to Scorpion seeing if I can mock a few up because they have a few 5/16 pedestal 1.7, 1.72 and 1.73 rockers.

    • @jeepmanmudding
      @jeepmanmudding  4 года назад

      I had to modify the pushrod guide plates ever so slightly...no cutting just a light bend on them So the pushrod would not Rub hard against the push rod guide plate

    • @jeepmanmudding
      @jeepmanmudding  4 года назад

      You will have to modify the valve cover baffles and you need to leave a little bit of material Under the PCV valve that way it does not constantly throw oil at it and suck it into the engine but for the most part they need to be removed easy job
