Yes you are descendant of an ancester of Sierra Leone.
Soon every african-american will be able to guess more or less his or her tribe origine.
Long series of DNA results will soon help you to guess the general physical specificity (nigerian Igbo or yoruba, bamileke Cameroon, Sierra-Leone, Guinée-Bissau, Mali, Senegal etc...)
We knew it since the beginning. But could not tell you because fearing your imprevisible reaction

Aww, Congrats 🤗beautiful sis; yes, for those who do not know... matriclan dna testing for women only and not being able to do the patriclan dna testing for Father's line is because women do not carry the Y chromosome. If she has a paternal Grandfather on that line a brother or male cousin on that same line they are the only one who can take the patriclan test for that line.
So happy for you/with your results.🤗

I'm always a bit confused when people use haplogroups for assigning tribes. For example on my own I found out that my L1c1 is found amongst the Igbo. But I also see just now that it's found amongst Sierra Leonean ethnic groups as well. Are there any haplogroups which are unique to just one country or group in Africa?

@@mrhimselfalone7657 Yes, but not many. If she got a full mtDNA sequence through FamilyTreeDNA she would have matches all across Africa and probably the Middle East. The same goes for yDNA. Sadly, African Ancestry is a scam.

@@patrickwright6644 there is also a tribe in Sierra Leone called “the krio” tribes. They were formed from Gullah-African Americans and maroons-Jamaicans. They even said the Jamaicans tore up a slave ship and used the wood to build a church, and the church is still there in Freetown, Sierra Leone.
