Sadly yes, but I spoke to the captains about this after landing, seems like the delivery of the new planes are too slow so hopefully they will not all gone in 2023.

Why do a340-300 sound different to the 340-600

Because the 343 use 4x CFM56 which are the same type of engine which the A320 and 737 equipped. However the 345/346 use RR trent 500.
