Boda: Hombres Víbora de la Mar (Wedding: The sea snake)

(Spanish below)For this Mexican traditional game, we as the newlyweds stand on chairs, facing each other, and hold either the groom’s coat or bride’s veil (we did my veil) forming an arch in order for the men to dance under and around. Dancers try to knock us down because it represents the obstacles we may face, but also, our ability to stick together through it all. When the music stops, the groom usually tosses my garner but we decided to do another activity instead (that will be a separate video hehe)
Para este juego tradicional mexicano, nosotros, los recién casados, nos paramos en sillas, uno frente al otro, y sostenemos el abrigo del novio o el velo de la novia (hicimos mi velo) formando un arco para que los hombres bailen debajo y alrededor. Los bailarines pueden intentar derribarnos porque representa los obstáculos que podemos enfrentar, pero también nuestra capacidad de mantenernos unidos a través de todo. Cuando la música se detiene, el novio suele tirar mi liga, pero decidimos hacer otra actividad en su lugar (será un video aparte, jeje)
