    46 year old intermediate snowboarder here. Picked up a LY Sunrise a few years back and took to it immediately. I have a skateboarding background so that definitely helped. If you’re on the fence, go for it. It’s a ton of fun!

    Thanks LY. I got a Topo 37 last winter and it blew my mind. Strapless is so much fun on snow and you are 100% right it makes those green and blue runs exciting again. I can't wait to get out again this winter. Our local mountain opens 8 Dec 2023.

    I'm confused about the naming of this product. There seems to be two types of snowskates; one with a ski underneath (more like a snowboard) and one without (more like a skateboard).
    Anyway, it looks awesome it might be what I will ride on my next trip.

    • @LYSnow
      @LYSnow  6 месяцев назад +1

      There are Bi-level Snowskates with the sub-deck (ski) underneath and flat deck snow skates. Bi-levels give you the most control when riding down hills and mountains. The metal edge allows you to carve and corner. Flat decks are for doing tricks and mostly going in straight lines.

    Do they allow these at sunshine? We are going out there this march break and i want to try this so bad. Not sure if any resorts in Ontario allow it.

    • @LYSnow
      @LYSnow  6 месяцев назад

      Every resort is different. Some make you wear a strap around your foot when on the chairlift. If you're unsure check their website or ask ski patrol. Sunshine Mountain does allow them according to their website and here's an old list of hills in Ontario that allow, there could be missing resorts
      ON - Batawa (surface lifts)
      ON - Boler (w/strap)
      ON - Dagmar Ski Resort (w/strap)
      ON - Mansfield Ski Club
      ON - Mt.Evergreen Ski Area
      ON - Kamiskotia (w/strap)
      ON - Lake Ridge (w/strap)
      ON - Pembroke
      ON - Searchmont
      ON - Sir Sam’s Ski & Bike
      ON - Ski Lakeridge (w/ strap)

    Snowskates are for the snowboarders that dont know much and only ride with skiers. No hate towards snowskaters that didnt start with snowboarding. but majority of core snowboarders that have one, its nothing more than a novelty item, not a new alternative. Not speaking for everyone here, but every snowboarder ive seen that has one, they use for a couple runs, then switch over as can only do so much. Its a awesome alternative for longboarders though that dont do anything in the winter.

    • @voltaire372

      I was gonna say, this looks fun, but am I going to sell my whole snowboard quiver to buy snowskates? Yeah, good luck trying to ride moguls or a anything above a mild blue run, good luck with carving at 40+ mph, and good luck trying to ride even with skiers. The skiers that I know are fast and if you aren’t pushing it on a all-mountain snowboard you will not keep up.
