      I have many years of snowskate experience and I would say pop / ollie is easier if the sub ski is small and if the tail as aggressive kick. If the subski is long , the ollie will be difficult.

      I would compare these snow skates to something like buying CDJ's instead of real vinyls n needles.
      It's made to get the hang of quickly, you get satisfaction almost right away. That's great. But be forwarned... You are very limited on what you can do.
      I don't want to take anything away from LY by making this comment but there are better snow skates out there for people who can skateboard and snowboard good.
      Not just someone who's familiar with snowboarding and wants to give snow skating a go. You want to bust nice pop shoves and kickflips LY going to have to make a different snowskate

    • @eliotdangerflash
      @eliotdangerflash 3 года назад

      @@addleyscanada appreciate the comment. I'm pretty new to snowskates. Been snowboarding for years and big into cruiser skateboards and surf skateboards too. Not real into skate tricks though. What kind of snowskate would you recommend and what general size? An all around one that would be fun to cruise with but not awful for when I'd like to try some easier tricks? Does a unicorn like that exist?

    • @addleyscanada
      @addleyscanada 3 года назад +1

      @@eliotdangerflash by the sounds of it the LY would work for ya. Lib Tech also made some. You may find luck Craigslisting for a 'Burton Junkyard' they were the mellow one from Burton.

      @@williamshields3973 I'm a visual person, I dont think I can explain as good as in person but my snowkates blade stops an inch before the skate Deck. So when I pop I got more leverage .. when the ski sticks out 2 inches past your tail your ability to pop is reduced.
      By having a shorter blade your centrifugal force is smaller and it's easier to throw a pop shov or even a 180, with a big snowskate with a long blade you're limited on how easily you can toss the board around.
      I know Burton did tones of research to develop them, you can thank them for the technology that's in snowkates today... But in regards to marketing, it was just bad timing. They didn't sell.. I know this because when I show up with my 18 year old Burton (which btw the deck is still in one piece notdelaminated or water logged - how?) Everyone's wondering where I got it. They all think it's some new thing.. I tell them you can't find ones these good anymore oh and the sports been around forever..
      Premiere and Ambition were the first real snowkate company, but the snowkate with the ski on the bottom is way more fun dispite the fact that you can do more technical tricks on a flat deck like Ambition.

    These boards have a pretty long blade sticking out the front and back of the deck. Makes for easy riding.
    I still use my Burton source - no one makes snowskates as big as actual skateboards anymore.

    I’m sorry but I don’t get the point of this if you can do this and more with an ambition snow skate like tricks so it’s just a little hard to understand for me what differentiates this product or makes it maybe more useful than a regular snowskate where you have more options with than just riding, who are the targets for this product? It’s like longboarding vs. skateboarding, cruise or cruise and tricks. I’m not trying to be rude I’m just curious, much love wish you guys a lot of success!

    • @LYSnow
      @LYSnow  3 года назад +5

      Unlike single deck snowskates, like ambition, bi-level snowskates have metal edges so you can take them to your ski hill and ride down the runs with control. You'll be able to carve and reach speeds similar to a snowboard but have a completely different feeling and won't have to mess around with bindings. Tricks are harder than single decks but still possible and you'll be able to ride some fun spots when your town gets snow in the Winter!

    • @wtvdonot1135
      @wtvdonot1135 2 года назад +1

      Take much more energy than snowboard due to constantly need to adjust the entire body for good balance, plus a lot of knee bending. Good snowboarder will learn fast, much harder for beginners imo.
