That’s awesome! I have looked EVERYWHERE on how to fix my vacuum cleaner myself & I finally found it! Thank you so much, you’ve saved me heaps. If I could leave a love instead of a like, I would! ❤
How did you convince them to sell it to you? I have not been having any luck with the online chat. They keep saying I need to take it to a repair shop. They also sent me the totally wrong filter which I have to return.
Just wanted to thank you for this - turns out the inner filter was clean, but thanks to you, I was able to check it. I cleaned out the canister and filter itself, but could only disassemble it so far… any chances of a video on how to open up the upper canister head and metal mesh to get all that funk out? Thanks!
I'm glad it helped. I no longer have that unit. But to clean that out i used a long nozzle air blower to go down in there and blow it out with my air compressor.
Dyson sells this as filterless, if we use this filter for years without changing it, will it release odor or dust into the air? Should I buy a vacuum cleaner with a replaceable HEPA filter?
That is what happened with move it began to release a puff of dust when I turned it on and would smell. That's when I got curious and opened it up, at the time I thought perhaps I just need to do a thorough cleaning of the inside. I was surprised to find a filter instead that was nasty 🤢
@@JeliSpace thanks. You wouldn’t believe it, I called Dyson to order and they said they were out of stock on the filter. Instead they said they’d send us a brand new vacuum. Amazing! Ours had hundreds of miles on it I’m sure lol my wife vacuums twice a day.
So I found a Cinetic animal the big one upright in the trash it was brand new it just had a clog of paper in the hose which I removed The vacuum was probably used about three or four times. I didn't think they pick up was all that great on it and then I started fiddling around with it and ended up removing that filter on the left hand side of the ball if you're looking at the vacuum from behind and ever since I removed that filter the suction has like doubled and I've never had an issue from the vacuum and have never had any dust issues in the motor doesn't run hot like it was running with that filter in it so as far as I'm concerned that filter is not necessary and will lead to an early breakdown of the motor or overheating or terrible suction power. I got it for free so I don't really care what that filter was for All I know is that I've been using the vacuum now for 3 or 4 years and it runs perfectly fine and doesn't get hot and has super suction so not sure what I did but it was for the better!
Sorry for the late reply but which wheel are you talking about. I no longer have it but if it rings a bell I will chime in... That is if you still even have it yourself!
I’m so so angry I have had this Dyson ball for three years paid $799 for it. It started smelling like rubber the other week. I never knew there was a filter in it to clean. I can’t get it open as I don’t have the screwdrivers, but I don’t know if I clean it would be repairable. I’m devastated and I’m a bit angry.
I keep the interior filter clean so I hope that’s preventing me from taking this huge step in having to dismantle this machine. So far it’s been running great 2 years with dogs and indoor rabbits.
Maybe.... Its some kind of paper so you would have to be really gentle and wait for it to fully dry. I wouldn't trust it to that but who knows! Maybe you will find a new trick!
Like a 7 out of 10, it did work well just not as well as I had hoped and had to fiddle with it more than I would have liked. But it did work well in between all that.
Glad I watched this before making the final decision of buying the cinetic vs the filtered version, I have the cy23 they were on sale with similar prices like a 30 dollar difference and I see that the cinetic don't work as well as the one with filters, I had the cy23 when they first released it, I cleaned the filter and it almost never had dust run through the post only thing is two of the roots got clogged with hair and the turbine brush stopped spinning so we just decided to buy the exact same one yesterday only thing is its refurbished, this might help others and the benefits of having a filter on a dyson is if you notice alot more dust caught in the filter its most likely cuz the roots got clogged im sure you wouldn't be able to tell that well with the cinetic ones
Hi Savage, absolutely saviour helping me find this one! So hidden. Thanks man. Did you ever try and wash it or did you go straight for a new one? My parents’ has built up a ton of hair on the hepa paper inside and started turning grey, and I don’t know if I even want to try give it a wash...
Hi Jasper Skallow , I used to have the upright version and it is recommended to wash it with warm water regularly, Note: it is easier to access in the upright. I would assume it is the same material, therefore washable.
The post motor filter looks terrible. I thought the cinetic science supposed to filter out most dust and dirt before they reach there. Have you put the machine under extreme use?
Only its intended use case for use with pets in the house. It lasted for a while maybe the thought was life of use, but is well made enough to last beyond that time lol!
I don't like them either because for the price they're awfully squeaky and creaky and don't seem to have the best build quality nor do I see them as anything special in the suction department. I do have a black Miele Bolero Automatic upright I believe the name of it is it's pretty old but I wax it to keep it shiny lol and it's been a very good vacuum with very good suction and very good build quality I bought it at a pawn shop used so I've been happy with that brand
Für einen simplen Filterwechsel den kompletten Staubsauger auseinanderbauen, nicht euer ernst, dass kann doch keineswegs Kundenfreundlich sein, so eine teure scheisse und dann noch rumschrauben müssen, Note 6 setzen.
Yeah sadly that was the case, it even said no filters to replace in that advertisement. I guess they were considering that internal filter a life of machine filter, which is just not right at all.

After 4yrs with my unit i am about to replace the filter using your instructions. Thank you!
No problem thank you!
Isnt it under 5 year warranty. Dyson replaced my whole motor

What kind of screw driver do I use? I can’t get any of mine to work.
It had been a while since I made this but it was a torx bit that I used which are available and pretty much all the box stores.
In case you didn't find the answer, I took this exact model apart to check the filter last week and it was specifically a T3 torx bit.
For the love of goodness, does anyone know where to buy one of these replacement filters??????
I had to purchase it from dyson, but I had to contact them directly for it.

I am too. Dyson don't manufacture the parts now either. Post filter is what they call it

Hey, may I ask where the interior filter is located? we just can't find it and google is somehow not very helpful either 😅
It has been a while by I think I had to contact dyson for it.
Awesome vid. Thank you
No problem 👍
hello friend is possible to clean under water ?

Suuper danke
Ist es möglich mir den Link zu senden ?

HI, where did you got replacement filter. the Dyson is out of stock.
Sadly Dyson was THE ONLY place I could find it at the time. Even when I had the part number.
@@JeliSpacecould you post the part number please

Yep, after owning it for a while I am really not a fan.
What about cleaning the base before installing the new filter? It's like changing your socks without washing your feet....
Agreed! A good idea even if I didn't execute. A little distracted with the video and running my mouth but thanks for the feedback!

I wouldn’t wash it as it’s only paper. And it will go to mush. Best replacing it
Tom O'brien understood, thanks Tom!
@@safrica1234 no problem, glad I could help!
Correct it is paper and not very robust. I did try to gently blow it out with compressed air but it just fell apart after a mistaken stronger blast.
how much?

If memory serves it was around $60.
