In the college I attend, theres a lot of foreign exchange students from Japan and Korea. Most of them take the same city bus as I do, and in the morning ride we have a system where we would wake anyone up who's sleeping, and the bus is around a thirty minute ride.
I once was on time for my bus, at 11 years old, and the bus wasn't there. So naturally, I waited for a bout 30 minutes before I decided to walk to my school (which was 3 miles away). At the end of the day, I get on my bus and see a sub driver. So I was like "Y-you missed my stop this morning.." and she goes "NO I DIDN'T! I was just late" so I asked her when she got there in the nicest way possible. 9AM. I was there at 6:30 AM. The scheduled time. That's 2 and a half hours late lady!
This isn't really a good idea. All city bus's don't allow sound, and headphones/earbuds would fall out through the bumpy ride. This only works if ya have the earbuds with no chords.

(1): Headphones do not interfere with the speaker audio specifically for the alarm, so basically even with headphones, your alarm will be blaring out loud with others staring at you ._. (2): Like domics mentioned, depending on the weather/traffic, the alarm may be either early of the bus' arrival, which is great, on time of the bus' arrival, which is barely lucky, and late of the bus' arrival, which is bad. And even though the alarm will most likely help you, it wont always be perfect.
Huge tip: if you don't have a driver's license because you are too young or are too scared to drive (like me) get a folding bike. It will make it a lot easier to get from bus stop to bus stop or train stop.
I crashed one of those 2x2 group bikes you see in large parks/beaches before (cause the other guys were dicks and pedaled 2Fast2Furious). We all got cut and one guy mouth was bleeding. Didn't get my license until I was 20 out of necessity cause of that. Also a hulking 2 ton mass traveling at 70 mph. F=ma ... the worst thing you teach someone when they drive.
this seriously makes me happy to live in vienna. longest scheduled waiting time at the least bussiest time is is 15 minutes. rush hour waiting time is 3 to 5 minutes.
OH but another time my bus was only 40 mins late (did i just type ONLY 40 mins late?) and by the time it got there there were only like 3 people left waiting cause everyone left to just take a different bus and it was a pretty chill bus ride it was a school special bus too so its only stops were when a student asked for a stop so the driver basically asked us where we had to get off and he just drove us straight there he dropped me off basically AT my house :p
Never forget the time i had to walk the 4 miles with my backpack full of things and a tenor saxophone because the after-school bus never came. 40lbs of stuff on a 95lb boy

In one of the middle schools I went to, we had one bus driver who was periodically late. It didn’t matter the day or the weather, he was late. It wasn’t like we had icy roads either, we lived in Texas. Freezing in the mornings but not enough to make ice. We also lived in areas that had no traffic issues. He would show up 10-30 minutes late on a weekly basis. There was one time where he hadn’t showed up at all and I we were left out for a couple hours. One issue he did cause was taking a day off without notice. He left and didn’t get a substitute driver ready, he had left without notice and without a substitute. It took about 3 hours before the substitute finally showed up. What made it worse was the substitute wasn’t told where to go meaning they had to go off of poor directions from teachers.

I met my girlfriend from falling asleep on the dart, I didn't know her, but she'd seen me at College and we walked from Pierce street station to college together.
I relate to this, I commute to university 3 or 4 days a week. Spending 4 hours of my day travelling. After uni, I go to work. Don't really have a social life, but I realised that all I need is coffee xd idk why i watch this multiple times just to remind myself that a lot of people go through and everything will be okay

Public transportation is notorious for sending out important alerts for extremely late by me and because of those assholes I was late to work since I and others had no knowledge of the delays beforehand.
I also have a long commute I used to walk 12 min (a gal knows her time quite too well) to the first bus stop preferably to ride at 6:45 with a window of 5 minutes or I'll be late by around 30min minimum :) butterfly effect goes brrr here I ride the bus until the end station which is relatively close, I walk (ehem run in lowercase) 17min until my wonderful 2nd station... I won't lie, most of my life choices get shitted on during those 17min walk because it's basically an uphill AND there is no shelter from the sun or the rain I ride the 7:30 bus to reach another place at around 8:05, from there I either catch another bus (either the 8:00 late one (lucky yess) or the 8:30 one) or take the train, I usually wait for the bus because where I live the train is unreliable and basically always late. It's the last ride for uni but they usually park a bit far so I end up walking 30min It never helped that I sometimes have an 8 AM class This year I ride uber or my father's car, then continue from there Also my way back is way more easier; one bus (usually the 4:30PM one) for approximately 1h40 ride and a 45min walk from a shortcut and I'd be home, it's also an uphill but at that point I'd be fuelled with fantasies about my bed so I just don't regret being born that much

jagdpanther or hetz? Oh OK then. Being an Oakville resident myself, I find their transit system to be fairly good. It sucks when I miss my intended bus, but I can always find an alternative way to get to my destination, so it's no big deal. Plus, we have a bus arrival time predictor app now, which makes waiting for a bus a lot easier. In Burlington Transit's case, while it's good for getting where I need to go, they should get their bus stop voice announcer on more of their vehicles, run more routes on Saturdays and Sundays, and organize their GO stations to separate the GO buses from the local buses. I've never taken Hamilton Transit before, so I don't have an opinion on that.
Now for the ones you mentioned, I most definitely agree with MiWay buses and GO trains. I haven't noticed anything particularly gross on TTC's subway trains (at least not the TRs, haven't taken a T1 in a while) but their schedule for arrivals is spot on.
I know im writing a comment to a 6 years ago video, but ok, i'm that crazy. Well, i live in Cuba, and taking a bus here is like... war. We literaly have to fight and kill or be killed to take the bus. Buses come each every hour, or even later because they don't belive in that schedule thing, the stops are all full of angry people, the drivers dont give a fuck about the people waiting there, sometimes they stop very far from the Station and you have to run the marathon while you push the people who's trying to go in, even when they were not making the line. And other times THE BUS DON'T EVEN STOP, AFTER TWO HOURS OF WAIT. Because in their minds they are the owners of the bus. Not counting the sun that melt us down and will keep melting us until the other bus come. Take a bus in Cuba is a real challenge. So, i feel you Domic. Wow... 6 years later... almost a decade.

I had these little kids laugh at me and I ran like a block but the damn driver didn't care or must've not seen me, didn't wait it out at a stop. It just made me feel like crap cuz these kids have no idea how lame it is having to catch these buses. There's a lot of Karen type dudes and ladies using the bus and creeps too, it's just kinda frightening in a way that you have to beware of these people every time you need to use it(for school) cuz it's routine and you have to get used to it.
I can relate to this so much... When the bus doesn't come, the weather is always bad I cry

In one of the middle schools I went to, we had one bus driver who was periodically late. It didn’t matter the day or the weather, he was late. It wasn’t like we had icy roads either, we lived in Texas. Freezing in the mornings but not enough to make ice. We also lived in areas that had no traffic issues. He would show up 10-30 minutes late on a weekly basis. There was one time where he hadn’t showed up at all and I we were left out for a couple hours. One issue he did cause was taking a day off without notice. He left and didn’t get a substitute driver ready, he had left without notice and without a substitute. It took about 3 hours before the substitute finally showed up. What made it worse was the substitute wasn’t told where to go meaning they had to go off of poor directions from teachers.

I relate to this, I commute to university 3 or 4 days a week. Spending 4 hours of my day travelling. After uni, I go to work. Don't really have a social life, but I realised that all I need is coffee xd idk why i watch this multiple times just to remind myself that a lot of people go through and everything will be okay
I hate buses one time I waited 2 hours for a bus and when I decided to leave the bus stop I saw the bus drive past me so I flipped him off and went home

That happened to me and my sis before. We were waiting for our school bus, and we waited for a long time. So we we decided to walk back home to get a ride from one of our parents, right when we were half way down the street the bus came.
That happened to us a lot that year...so I think we started getting driven to school.
Public transportation is notorious for sending out important alerts for extremely late by me and because of those assholes I was late to work since I and others had no knowledge of the delays beforehand.

I used to walk 12 min (a gal knows her time quite too well) to the first bus stop preferably to ride at 6:45 with a window of 5 minutes or I'll be late by around 30min minimum :) butterfly effect goes brrr here
I ride the bus until the end station which is relatively close, I walk (ehem run in lowercase) 17min until my wonderful 2nd station... I won't lie, most of my life choices get shitted on during those 17min walk because it's basically an uphill AND there is no shelter from the sun or the rain
I ride the 7:30 bus to reach another place at around 8:05, from there I either catch another bus (either the 8:00 late one (lucky yess) or the 8:30 one) or take the train, I usually wait for the bus because where I live the train is unreliable and basically always late.
It's the last ride for uni but they usually park a bit far so I end up walking 30min
It never helped that I sometimes have an 8 AM class
This year I ride uber or my father's car, then continue from there
Also my way back is way more easier; one bus (usually the 4:30PM one) for approximately 1h40 ride and a 45min walk from a shortcut and I'd be home, it's also an uphill but at that point I'd be fuelled with fantasies about my bed so I just don't regret being born that much

One time in 7th grade my bus never showed up, so me and my friend walked to school which was like a thirty minute walk and I missed my first two classes, and my teacher for my third class didn't even notice me walk into class 10 minutes late

GO transit- trains come on time, buses are hell
TTC trains- gross, but good besides that
TTC buses- average bus, nothing too bad
TTC streetcars- packed, smell, slow
Miway buses- absolute transit heaven compared to other systems in the area
Durham Tranist- run of the mill, nothing bad nothing good.
Brampton Transit- worst transit system ever (zum is an exception)

jagdpanther or hetz? Oh OK then. Being an Oakville resident myself, I find their transit system to be fairly good. It sucks when I miss my intended bus, but I can always find an alternative way to get to my destination, so it's no big deal. Plus, we have a bus arrival time predictor app now, which makes waiting for a bus a lot easier. In Burlington Transit's case, while it's good for getting where I need to go, they should get their bus stop voice announcer on more of their vehicles, run more routes on Saturdays and Sundays, and organize their GO stations to separate the GO buses from the local buses. I've never taken Hamilton Transit before, so I don't have an opinion on that.
Now for the ones you mentioned, I most definitely agree with MiWay buses and GO trains. I haven't noticed anything particularly gross on TTC's subway trains (at least not the TRs, haven't taken a T1 in a while) but their schedule for arrivals is spot on.

I know im writing a comment to a 6 years ago video, but ok, i'm that crazy. Well, i live in Cuba, and taking a bus here is like... war. We literaly have to fight and kill or be killed to take the bus. Buses come each every hour, or even later because they don't belive in that schedule thing, the stops are all full of angry people, the drivers dont give a fuck about the people waiting there, sometimes they stop very far from the Station and you have to run the marathon while you push the people who's trying to go in, even when they were not making the line. And other times THE BUS DON'T EVEN STOP, AFTER TWO HOURS OF WAIT. Because in their minds they are the owners of the bus. Not counting the sun that melt us down and will keep melting us until the other bus come. Take a bus in Cuba is a real challenge. So, i feel you Domic.
