I once was on time for my bus, at 11 years old, and the bus wasn't there. So naturally, I waited for a bout 30 minutes before I decided to walk to my school (which was 3 miles away). At the end of the day, I get on my bus and see a sub driver. So I was like "Y-you missed my stop this morning.." and she goes "NO I DIDN'T! I was just late" so I asked her when she got there in the nicest way possible. 9AM. I was there at 6:30 AM. The scheduled time. That's 2 and a half hours late lady!

The long-commute bus rides can really put you to sleep , that why I get up early enough to have a cup of coffee before I leave . I really related to this guy missing his stop .
In the college I attend, theres a lot of foreign exchange students from Japan and Korea. Most of them take the same city bus as I do, and in the morning ride we have a system where we would wake anyone up who's sleeping, and the bus is around a thirty minute ride.

@Walt Smart: There are a few problems with that.
(1): Headphones do not interfere with the speaker audio specifically for the alarm, so basically even with headphones, your alarm will be blaring out loud with others staring at you ._.
(2): Like domics mentioned, depending on the weather/traffic, the alarm may be either early of the bus' arrival, which is great, on time of the bus' arrival, which is barely lucky, and late of the bus' arrival, which is bad. And even though the alarm will most likely help you, it wont always be perfect.

you know how long the ride is (30minutes so set a vibrating alarm on 25 minutes?)
This isn't really a good idea. All city bus's don't allow sound, and headphones/earbuds would fall out through the bumpy ride. This only works if ya have the earbuds with no chords.
Some times the bus drivers are idiots and drive super slowly and the alarm might not even help. :P

I had these little kids laugh at me and I ran like a block but the damn driver didn't care or must've not seen me, didn't wait it out at a stop. It just made me feel like crap cuz these kids have no idea how lame it is having to catch these buses. There's a lot of Karen type dudes and ladies using the bus and creeps too, it's just kinda frightening in a way that you have to beware of these people every time you need to use it(for school) cuz it's routine and you have to get used to it.

In one of the middle schools I went to, we had one bus driver who was periodically late. It didn’t matter the day or the weather, he was late. It wasn’t like we had icy roads either, we lived in Texas. Freezing in the mornings but not enough to make ice. We also lived in areas that had no traffic issues. He would show up 10-30 minutes late on a weekly basis. There was one time where he hadn’t showed up at all and I we were left out for a couple hours. One issue he did cause was taking a day off without notice. He left and didn’t get a substitute driver ready, he had left without notice and without a substitute. It took about 3 hours before the substitute finally showed up. What made it worse was the substitute wasn’t told where to go meaning they had to go off of poor directions from teachers.
I hate waiting for the bus in the winter, keep in mind that I live in wisconsin, where its pretty cold in the winter, that it snows late as spring and early as Halloween.
Like one time in winter: I was in 5th or 6th grade with other kids at the bus stop, waiting for the bus. After minutes of waiting (which it was so cold that it felt like hours), everyone and i mean EVERYONE at the bus stop agreed to wait for the bus inside because it was so cold and started heading to our houses. And (I swear) as soon I got on my driveway, gess who desided to show up...... THE FUCKING BUS! It just appered to just poped into existance like it was there the whole time!

Huge tip: if you don't have a driver's license because you are too young or are too scared to drive (like me) get a folding bike. It will make it a lot easier to get from bus stop to bus stop or train stop.

I crashed one of those 2x2 group bikes you see in large parks/beaches before (cause the other guys were dicks and pedaled 2Fast2Furious). We all got cut and one guy mouth was bleeding.
Didn't get my license until I was 20 out of necessity cause of that.

To get to college I have to take two trains but most of the time the first train is late. One time the first train arrived at the station just as the second train I was supposed to get was supposed to leave. If I missed that train I would be late as fuck for my Physics lesson and I needed to learn dat shit. I sprinted from one platform to another and just made it to the train just as the doors closed. The conductor saw this whole thing happen as he was not yet on the train and was making sure the doors closed. He then looked me right in the eye and said "Please stand back from the train as it leaves the platform." he then got on the train and it left. Fuck that guy.
Wait you have a conductor leave the train. I dont know why this shocked me... I mean I've seen the guy on the first cart of the train but I've never seen him leave
