Wow, seriously impressive work there! There is a charm to a synthesizer trying to imitate an acoustic instrument and I think that is often how they were used in the earlier days of synthesizers. I appreciate the skill it took to get these sounding so authentic.
That's really still how they are used now. The synth can create it's own range of sound but we often compare those sounds to familiar acoustic ones even if they their own thing. Love patches like these, synth E-piano and Organ is almost better than the real thing imo.
These are incredible patches - thank you for sharing them and showing the potential of the synth in capable hands. (You also illustrate how 5 voices is not a limitation at ALL in many cases.) I don't own a P5, but this has inspired me to go back to my synths and program more sounds. Respect!

Absolutely fantastic patches! These are better than any of the original presets from 78 that tried to emulate natural instruments. The seemingly primitive P5 is a very powerful instrument that at times can even give a DX a run for the money with its polymod and simple fm. Thanks also for the elegant, skillful presentation. I had totally forgotten about Grace Jones’ Strange btw…. 👍

To program sounds like those, you just need a synth with the oscillator sync feature... much better if it lets you modulate things at audio rates (FM, crossmod....) But I ever guess the skills for playing each patch like the real instrument that replicates is the main thing if you wanna sound convincing... Great playing sir....!!!
Great programming job, man! I The collection is amazing but I felt a lack of woodwind type sounds. The ARP Pro Soloist/DGX would be a good source of inspiration, specially for oboe, bassoon, clarinet, tuba, etc... Cheers from Rio.

I downloaded the patches and for some reason the ones that involve the filter/amp velocity button the volume level is extremely low. any idea why that would be?
Yeah I have also noticed that beast below and was thinking man, the guy is pretty much set :D But anyway, apples to oranges, I think. Both are truly great synths.

@@soulSaysHi That's not what's important, what matters is the sound of a beautiful synthesizer in the hands of a mediocre keyboardist. Prophet 10, OB6, Prophet 6 etc . In good hands you have great sounds, in bad hands only garbage.

No, these are presets for the Prophet 5, I don't think there's cross-compatibility between the two units, but you should ask Sequential.
