I picked up a set of vokey sm5's a couple years ago on the cheap. I honestly am really liking the fact that you're unsponsored this year and can compare all the different brands and do videos as you choose. You're reviews are always so honest, helpful, and straight forward.

Love the “Build Your Bag” series! Looking forward to seeing what makes it in the rest of the way.
Currently gaming the SM7’s and love them. Tried several different brands before settling. Just like you mentioned, not the softest feeling but, distance control was far better!

Ive played Vokey since the models before the original spin milled. Ive tried every other brand and always come back to the Vokeys. Im gaming the SM7 and SM6 wedges right now. The 8's will be in the bag in a few months. Just so damn consistent.

Absolutely fell in love with my Hi-Toe lob wedge after swapping my MD3 C-grind (which I also adored). also loved my rtx-3 sand wedge in high bounce and glide gap wedge. Each one did something better than one another!

I game 4 Vokey SM7’s, 46, 50, 56 and 60 but I have two 56’s with different bounce depending on conditions. I’ve started collecting Vokeys too I’ve got ten altogether so far!!

Great choice - I have the SM7s and upgraded from the TaylorMade Milled grind. What would be really interesting is if you went and did a full wedge fitting with Titleist so you can work through all the loft and bounce options and explain to your viewers what suits you and what would suit other people. That would be so interesting.

I'm a 13 Handicap, I tried several wedges but went for a pair of fitted Vokey SM7's, as my lob wedge is 58 I went for a 50 and 54 giving perfect gapping to my PW and within a yard or 2 they were bang on the number I wanted every time, I did consider the SM8 but I got the 7's fitted with the shafts and lie angle I wanted for £99 each.... very happy with them.

Also bagged the SM8s this season and spot on review. The control and versatility are amazing. I have a 48 and 52 in F grind and 56 in S grind. I do everything with the 56. Sand, chip, pitch, flop, approach, rough, fringe, fairway...it is my Swiss army knife club inside 90 yards 🤷‍♂️

Peter love what you and Rick are doing with the videos. I just Put together a new bag this last month. I didn't get to just pick and grab from everything lol. But from trying what my buddies had and swinging what i could afford at the local Golf Mart here. For wedges I went with the Vokey SM7 Jet-black finish. 56&60 picth and Gap or Approach just using what came with the SIM Irons i purchased.

I’m using Sm7 50,54 and 58. I do have a MD4 48 wedge but nothing compares to the feel and control I have from my vokeys. Maybe it’s the Canadian in me favoring the Canadian or just that I’ve tried others and these feel right. For at least right now. I just put them in the bag last season so can’t afford new sm8 just yet. But you never know. Keep up the great work. Your tips and tricks have help me lower that handicap and it’s pushing me to be even better. Cheers

Really love this concept! (still want a GOLF hat!). I recently tried to replace my 11 year old Vokey wedges, and ultimately got some SM7s instead of the ‘experimental’ temp clubs. It really helped me appreciate the consistency, control, and versatility that Vokey offers. I also gapped from my 47 degree Mizuno PW with a 54 & 60. Very happy! Keep this series going!

Good review. SM8 has the most advanced variable head designs through their offerings, yielding greater traj control. The glide has the highest and most consistent spin rates and launch conditions across variable conditions due to Ping's Hydrophobic coating. I've been debating which wedges to play for 4 months now....the struggle is REAL.

Peter, I've watched a lot of your videos. As I've gone back in your archive of testing/build your bag series. I truly found this one to be one of my favorites. I still think you need a better way of picking your putter. Maybe it's time to give Axis 1 another shot. Or go all in and give your viewers the full Edel custom putter build experience. That might be what you've been needing this whole time. Thank you again for another entertaining video. Keep up the great work. Cheers!

I game Wilson staff pmp wedges 52, 56 and 58 ( different sole grind for tight lies and hard sand). I selected these as I play Wilson Staff V6 irons and they were much cheaper than other ‘ major’ manufacturers, and I got fitted for them. When it comes to irons Wilson Staff V6 are as good as any. Wedges are not the softest but I personally love the solid feel off them and the forged ‘iron’ look. Really looking forward to this series.

I’ve always used Vokey wedges and especially liked the Oil Can Finish but now use the Chrome finish which is nice but not as nice as the Oil Can and don’t produce the same amount of spin as the oil can. I recently bought a Ping Glide 2.0 stealth black which I love, ball feels great coming off the face and it’s really helped me playing in wet conditions.

I tried the Ping forged 50 deg. wedge the other da, and O.M.G!! Loved the feel, the forgiveness, and was at least 6-10yds longer than the RTX, Ping glide 3.0, and the Mizuno T20s. However, the price tag of $200 pushed me to by the 2nd best wedge I tried. The Wilson Staff Model. Which are forged as well and *almost* as forgiving and long as the Ping. Both are SUPER soft and just "GLIDE "thru the turf!

Hi Pete. If you haven’t already, you should check out MyGolfSpy and TXG’s wet/moisture testing with wedges. Real eye opener! In a nutshell, the Ping outperformed everything because of the hydro pearl finish on the face. Mizuno also performed really well. The drop off in spin and increase in launch when moisture was introduced, was crazy! Tech is king.

felt the same way about the SM7’s feeling too firm. found a fix... the raw finish! noticed a big difference in feel and spin by going to the raw finish SM7.

Great video! I love this kind of “build my bag video” I think it’s a great way for other players to get to see a lot of different club options that they might otherwise not get to see.
