I love how you guys get along. It seems like Chris really values your opinion. You guys get along so well and let each other talk and wow he even said sorry to interrupt...and he can build and instal anything. Genius !You are a lucky woman!
I have watched hundreds of RV videos and I just want to say your RV is by far the best I've seen. The floor plan is my favorite. The king pullout is awesome. The layout and decor are wonderful. I hope you have many happy years in your beautiful home.
For your bed you can just add another gas shock on the other side for about $20.00 you can get them at any Home Depot type store.... Nice job on your remodel. Ya'll did an awesome job....
You have done a really great job transforming that trailer. The white colour and the lack of wood paneling makes it look so nice and open feeling, not at all like a 1960s basement recroom which is what most RVs look like.
We are considering this lifestyle and have been watching videos from others who full-time. I love that you don't have a brand-new and extremely fancy RV and expensive equipment for filming. This proves that anyone can do it - even normal, boring people like us! Thank you for sharing!
+Francois Bernier House It is so encouraging to hear you say that. When we are self-conscious about the quality of our filming, we often remind ourselves that we just are not pros with professional equipment. What you see on our channel are the only videos we have ever produced in our lives - we are new to this. Some of the cameras that people are using are $10,000. I am glad for them, but we are just average, non-professionals, so it is just not an option. We also avoid debt, and we want to show people that you don't need a big investment to live debt free on the road before or after you retire. That seems to have become an anomaly, but we are proof it can be done. If you have any questions about RV living as "normal" people, please don't hesitate to ask. You can reach us through email too, at towanderfreely@gmail Thanks again for the encouragement, and for watching!
WOW! Love it! I had the same camper almost to a T! My kitchen sink was on the wall and bathroom was on the other wall. I did the same thing as far as changing out the furniture and I added a dishwasher, but I sadly didn't think to do the washer and dryer thing. That was genius! In the end after about 4 yrs. a tornado took our 5th wheel out. We were not in it Thank God! I miss it terribly though. Thanks for sharing!
That is too funny that you had a similar RV & reno! It is hard to find one with the larger rear kitchen. So sorry to hear that you no longer have it, but glad to know you were safe. Thanks for sharing your story with us!
Love, love, love your 5th wheeler ! Wish I could do a fitout like yours, it's beautiful. Light and airy , very jellie of your space. Safe travels, Alison Xoxox
Thank you for the tour....you both did a great job making your 5th wheel your home. I love the use of the fairy lights inside along the ceiling....I'm certain it looks lovely in the evening. I just found you, so will be catching up on past videos and also following your travels. Have a wonderful time, enjoy and stay safe. Happy Travels where you go next !
Wow, I remember watching this video 9 months ago just before buying my camper and it inspired me so much! I completely changed the interior of mine as well and we've been living in it since march. It has been such a journey and we are definitely not done adding our own little touches to our tiny house. I would love to share our reno video with you two!
The two of you are great! I can tell from the way you speak to each other and laugh that you have a great relationship. Obviously, you're having a lot of fun traveling. It was really entertaining watching you, thanks for posting this. You guys inspire me. Keep being awesome! :)
+Alex BePositive Thank you for the encouragement! We are high school sweethearts, and we have been married for almost 12 years now, but we are really best friends too, which has made for a great relationship for us. We truly believe God put us in each other's lives with a purpose. Glad you are enjoying the videos and thanks for watching!
+To Wander Freely I know what you mean. I too believe everything happens for a reason. It takes an open mind and heart to notice it though, so congrats to the two of you.
really love the reno, and the colored lights are great, wonderful low lighting but also bringing in color. very creative in the way you did your washer dryer.
+Mary West Thank you! Chris loves colored lights, while I am a white light fan - you can see who won that one! :) They are nice at night, just enough light but not too bright. Thanks for stopping by!
I absolutely love your redecorating of your RV. I just purchased your calendar and I wanted to see who was so ingenious. I'm extremely impressed. Donna
It may have started out as a camper, but you transformed it into a little house on wheels. My retirement plan is to get a 5th wheel & do the snowbird thing (32 months to go). I like the layout & execution in your unit much better than the new ones I've looked at. It highlights your skill as an architect.
Love what you did with yours! I did a day bed too from Ikea, only I don't have the drawers underneath. I hear ya on the space! I got a fifth wheel with a large bedroom and huge closet which was a selling point for me, BUT I envy the size and location of your kitchen!
Beautiful reno and beautiful couple...Watched with a family member and we really loved and enjoyed what you did...Thank you for sharing. #Manyblessings :))
You can get bigger stronger supports for the bed at home depot to make that easier. Loved the white clean look, and it looks like a younger couple lives in it. I find lots of RVs look designed for old people with old tastes, all browns and oranges..... but the update was great to see, thanks.
+Carla Garrett Yes, I agree, most RVs are very dark inside, which makes no sense to me, since you want to make the space appear bigger. Glad you liked our reno & thanks for the tip!
Nice job guys! Great teamwork!!! I remodeled our 2000 Four Winds 5000 into a mobile vet clinic eleven years ago and now I want to trick it out and sell it. I LOVED your concept of the rolling apartment. Perfect. Your vid is helping me to get motivated and formulate some ideas. Thanks!!! Oh Yeah...Moabs awesome!!...or used to be. ;-) Happy trails!! :-)
You mentioned in your video about the bed being heavy for the struts after replacing the mattress, we replaced ours with a sleep number mattress which probably weights the same as the mattress we replaced because of the air chamber. The mattress is very comfortable and easy to assemble. Buying a Sleep Number is a little more but you had said that you are Good Sam Club members and Camping World offer other options that similar for less. Our 1st 5th Wheel was 28 ft and laid out very similar with the kitchen in the back, it is the only way you can get as much counter space. We now have a 36 ft 5th Wheel which also has a rear kitchen, it took us awhile to find it. My husband work away from 5-6 months out of the year and lives in ours during that time, having the slide out in the bedroom is a nice feature, having the extra closet space make a big difference.
Hi, Roxanna - thanks so much for the great tips! We love our kitchen in the back, and you are so right, they are difficult to find! Thanks for the input, and for your unique story of how your husband uses the fifthwheel.
no wait...you just need a piece of wood (like a leg) to prop against the piece of wood under the bed base to keep the bed up. very pretty remodel! thanks for sharing!
+ysa herrera Thank you for the kind words! I definitely like to keep things organized since it is such a small space, and we move a lot. Chris is the Christmas light fanatic - can't get him to take them down :)
Wow! Thanks for sharing that. My wife and I are planning to purchase and move into a 5th for full time living next year. After starting our research and looking at RVs on dealer's lots we quickly realized that whatever we purchase is going to require some (or a lot) of remodeling. That led us to various web sites, Pinterest and RUclips, I have to say, of all the remodeled RVs we have seen, yours outshines most. Good job, safe travels and best of luck. I subscribed and look forward to watching more of your videos. Oh, I almost forgot, I believe you may be able to purchase heavier duty shock hinges for your under bed storage that may hold the extra weight.
Wow, Dave, thanks so much for the kind words! We are so glad that you like our reno. The little changes we made have made a huge impact. If you want more details, go to our blog at towanderfreely.com and click Our RV at the top. Chris did some write ups about the reno. Awesome that you and your wife are getting set to hit the road. Best decision you will ever make. Our sincerest best wishes to you as you prepare for your journey! Thanks for the tip on the bed lift...we need to look into that.
ouch! im from Destin! the congestion is a major migraine. Gulf shores is a complete gem however if you are ever back in destin...head over midbay to niceville...unbelievable fishing village that is a bit more relaxed than destin, especially in the Val-p area... siiiiigh! we have our travel trailer in a beautiful mountainous area of morganton, nc. super fresh and beautiful. great video. enjoy your newfound nomadic lifestyle 😘
we had to rebuild our Jayco too after our trip as the delam indicated more problems...tore the front off rebuilt the corner affected by rot ...made it better that before
Hey just found you guys. I am actually from the Mobile/Baldwin area and lived several times in Gulf shores. It is kinda our secret about how nice the area is and we tell people but don't try and sell them as it is getting really crowded. I have traveled extensively with my nursing career and spent many months in our Airstream. Now I (we) just purchased a Tiffin coach and we plan to do a nearly complete overhaul before some extended exploring up the East coast. thanks for the tour and the tips. Happy cruising.
Amazing what you done an excellent idea about paint the cabinets, looks beautiful, like a real home, thanks for explain. by the way congratulation, You put a washer in a perfect spot.!!! you are super!!! all the best!
Thank you for sharing. I noticed you have a water purifier.I have a similar one and love it! As someone else suggested, just use a strong stick under the bed. That's what I do with mine. I got rid of the mattress, too, and am using a single tempurpedic style mattress and have extra space on the side which I'm using to store extra stuff until I figure out what to do with it. I may have it renovated into a single bed that can be converted back if I ever sell it later.I don't have a problem with having to bend over in the bedroom, but I do have a problem with not having enough space along the sides of the bed. That's another reason why I may cut the bed down, so I'd have a little extra space on the side.I also had the dinette and convertible couch removed and haven't decided how I'm going to fix that part up yet. I'd like to paint my walls as well, so thanks for letting us know how you did yours!
Sounds like you have some great plans underway! We are glad you found this video helpful, and thank you for sharing your ideas! I love my Berkey filter too!
I feel removing the dinette booth & table is a must. They're really big, bulky, & not very comfortable. We'd eat outside usually so a small table & chairs would be plenty for us. :)
I wish we did, but for now, we are just looking to break even while we are on the road. We had no debt going in to it, and we made a commitment not to touch what we have saved for retirement. So, we are just trying to make enough to keep us on the road.
Hi guys. I love what you did with painting the RV. I've decided I'm going to do the same to my motor home, I think the lighter color gives it a huge open look..Also, last year I spent a month in Destin and loved it but you said you thought gulf shores was nicer. I'm going to have to check that area out. It's just down the road from Destin. Great videos keep em coming. Thanks vin
Glad our paint job is helpful. It has been over a year now, and we have not had any pealing or cracking, so we are glad that we just went over the wallpaper instead of trying to remove it. Yes, it has a very nice light and airy feel inside, which we love. Destin and Gulf Shores are very different areas. What we disliked about Destin was that we stayed on Okaloosa Island, which meant that we had to drive to everything and the road was a very busy road. In Gulf Shores, it was much more laid back, and there are a lot of trails for biking and hiking that are easy to access and free to the public. Also, the main beach had free parking in the winter. We like that it had more of a small town feel, and it was much easier to make friends there. To us, Destin felt like a better summer place that was packed up for the winter, whereas Gulf Shores felt more like a stable community. I hope that gives you a better description for deciding if you would like it. Thanks for watching!
Suggestion, Get heavy duty shocks for the bed and it will stay up because as you added the heavier mattress you added weight and the shocks are weight rated.
Im Denise and I think you have one of the simpliest well put together videos. Your rv was well thought out and has helped me alot. Were those leaf rods. I said yes, Im going to put the cutain rods higher up to give it tge real window effect. I have a fifth wheel where the shower is across from the bathroom. Im trying to come up with a color schemes with the accents being the accesories. I might want more color....not so much white...yours look great. I have a pullout futon bed couch with carpet. I wanr to pull up carpet but it overlapa slide...too much work. Theres much more , dont wont to bore you. I loke the warmth, silly me I m now lookung and hearing your head talk about what you did. I will add color like you...love your video. You moticated me to get started
Hi guys, Just ran across your RUclips Videos. Thank you for the Great information. I Really Like the White Cabinets and the bright open feel. Great Job. Why the heck is everything so Dark and drab in the new RV's? What you have is what I want in a new travel trailer. You gave me some ideas of what direction to go. Thank you! Be safe and God Bless!
Oh, I know, I have no idea why they make them so dark. It is definitely nice have the bright, open feel of the white instead. Glad you found this video helpful, and thank you for the encouragement.
Nice video and I love your 5th wheel. We will be full-time RVers in the future and think Iwould love to paint the inside like yours. Love the clean lines throughout. I also liked some of your ideas as to storage. Cute ideas. You really have to go outside the RV box and come up with some good ideas.
+Donna Vorce Thank you for the kind words! When I was thinking about the colors, I knew we would be spending a lot more time outside and hiking, so I would want to be able to come inside to something that would look and feel clean. The white also makes it look so much bigger in here (I really don't know why they make most RVs so dark inside - it seems counterintuitive). The other change that made a huge difference was the flooring - we have no carpeting, which means it is super easy to just sweep this baby out! We have a small steam cleaner too, and we use that to sanitize the floor when it is needed. Congratulations on making the decision to full-time - hopefully we will see you on the road some day!
Very stylish, in fact one of the nicest RV interiors I've seen. Safe travels.
+Sparrow Dean Thank you!
agreed amazing on the inside.
To wander Freely, 1 more question. Where did u buy the washer dryer combo? In a store in PA?
I love how you guys get along. It seems like Chris really values your opinion. You guys get along so well and let each other talk and wow he even said sorry to interrupt...and he can build and instal anything. Genius !You are a lucky woman!

Thank you so much, Leslie!
Y'all are a great couple. I really enjoy how much you two enjoy each other. It's really fun. Thanks for sharing your lives with us. Happy travels!
Get a strong stick to hold up the mattress. Then access is easy. Enjoy

Aisha Fehr you are right, I thought I'm the only one who noticed, people hate longgggggggg intro

Glad you found us! The bigger kitchen is a huge benefit. Thanks for watching!
Love the white paint, rv looks clean and bigger. Welcome to the wonderful world of RVing :-) We are going on 7 years!
Ha ha - you picked the perfect description for most RVs!!! Thank you for the kind words, and we are glad you like the transformation!
What a beautiful home. The best I've seen thus far. Most still look like what they are is. But you even have table and chairs. Good work.
Thank you!

You did a great job with your 5th wheel. The one thing I've notice is that your RV is very clean and it looks great.
Love, love, love your 5th wheeler ! Wish I could do a fitout like yours, it's beautiful. Light and airy , very jellie of your space. Safe travels, Alison Xoxox
Thank you for the tour....you both did a great job making your 5th wheel your home. I love the use of the fairy lights inside along the ceiling....I'm certain it looks lovely in the evening. beautiful RV... the white looks so fresh and gives the whole RV such an airy feel!
Thank you, Sue. We wanted it to feel clean and open, which I think we accomplished. Thanks for watching!

The most beautiful RV interior design I've seen so far! Clean and fresh. Congrats guys!
Thanks so much!
The two of you are great! I can tell from the way you speak to each other and laugh that you have a great relationship. Obviously, you're having a lot of fun traveling. It was really entertaining watching you, thanks for posting this. You guys inspire me. Keep being awesome! :)

+To Wander Freely I know what you mean. I too believe everything happens for a reason. It takes an open mind and heart to notice it though, so congrats to the two of you.
You guys make a really nice couple. Beautiful job. Good luck
Tip for the mattress: invest in a sleep number bed. When you need to access the storage beneath, just deflate the mattress slightly.
Best RV reno I've seen! It's beautiful!
Thanks, Cindy! We are so glad you like it!
You guys did a beautiful job inside that RV, congratulations.
really love the reno, and the colored lights are great, wonderful low lighting but also bringing in color. very creative in the way you did your washer dryer.
+Mary West Thank you! Chris loves colored lights, while I am a white light fan - you can see who won that one! :) They are nice at night, just enough light but not too bright. Thanks for stopping by!
You guys did an outstanding job on that . Looks great, one of a kind. Instant added value.
Thank you!
Looks fantastic! My family just got a class c, 31' and we don't have anywhere close to that much space. Love your upgrades.
I absolutely love your redecorating of your RV. I just purchased your calendar and I wanted to see who was so ingenious. I'm extremely impressed. Donna
Thank you so much! We appreciate the feedback! And thank you for purchasing a calendar - hope you love it!
Love your Rv, the white is beautiful!!!
Thank you!
Well done on the video guys ! I love what you did to the camper to fit your needs!
Thank you for the nice tour and showing us your upgrades.
Thank you for watching - hope it is helpful!
It may have started out as a camper, but you transformed it into a little house on wheels. My retirement plan is to get a 5th wheel & do the snowbird thing (32 months to go). I like the layout & execution in your unit much better than the new ones I've looked at. It highlights your skill as an architect.
Nice job. Really like the extra storage you guys added for shoes and the laundry!
Thank you! Both have made full time rving much more reasonable! Thanks for watching!
Nice white dwelling, makes it looks spacious. Thanks for sharing.
we did a 5 month trip and loved it...snow birds!!!! We can relate to what you guys are saying...Gulf shores Rock !!!! Love the vid !!!

And being all white inside makes it feel bigger as if it was darker, you have a lovely RV!
+Whisper Latina ASMR Thanks so much and thanks for watching!
Very nice! So clean & bright!
Good to see your reno guys
Looks good all in white
Love the cabinets! Cannot believe the difference it makes in your camper, all the ones I have seen are so dark!
Jean Peters-Khan Thank you! Yes, they do typically make them with dark interiors. We were really pleased with how ours turned out.
I love your place! I love the way you designed the living area. It is wonderful!
So happy you have enjoyed being there....❤️
You mentioned in your video about the bed being heavy for the struts after replacing the mattress, we replaced ours with a sleep number mattress which probably weights the same as the mattress we replaced because of the air chamber. Hi, Roxanna - thanks so much for the great tips! We love our kitchen in the back, and you are so right, they are difficult to find! Thanks for the input, and for your unique story of how your husband uses the fifthwheel.
Great setup you guys. I like the level of customization you put into it to make it your own.
+Stan Lee Thanks!
I especially love your kitchen!
Painting everything white make it look clean and classic.
Thanks - we agree. It helps it look bigger too. Thanks for the feedback!
Great RV you guys have done a great job on redo it. Enjoy it.
+Diane Larra Thank you - we will! :)
I agree the trade off of the smaller bedroom for a lighter “load” is well worth it, and I love your kitchen.
This is so awesome!! So glad I found you guys!

+Staar Fields Thanks so much for the kind words and encouragement! We are so glad you like the reno!
I love your RV. Beautiful inside. I wish you shot a Video of the park around so I can see what it looks like.
Very nice!! I'd love to see how you've organized your storage.
LOL! We lived in a retirement campground when we first got out of college. I totally am cracking up with you all talking about the social calendar!
It really is a good thing they have going! I can totally see why people like it so much!
ours was a bit like a college part most every night. LOL Watch out, they are all not soooo innocent.
Just Sew Trish LOL
Really like ur RV... Clean and organized.... Except for the Christmas light, it's perfect ❤️
+ysa herrera Thank you for the kind words! I definitely like to keep things organized since it is such a small space, and we move a lot. Chris is the Christmas light fanatic - can't get him to take them down :)
Super lovely! Our bedroom is a bit bigger, but our kitchen is way smaller. Trade offs, ya know, but doable

Cindy Arquette I agree. Since it's just myself I didn't need that much seating at the table. And they were all uncomfortable anyway.
Thank you. I saw the computers and heard work so thought he would have to have a constant reliable resource. :)
I wish we did, but for now, we are just looking to break even while we are on the road. We had no debt going in to it, and we made a commitment not to touch what we have saved for retirement. So, we are just trying to make enough to keep us on the road.
very nice, clean, keep going, every RV should look like yours
Great renovation. Like your kitchen set up.
Thank you for sharing. Loved the tour and great ideas.
Great job! Very inspirational.
Thanks
vin
I love what you have done.I am going high gloss white with my vintage Class A.
Wonderful! We are so pleased with it, and I hope you will be too!
Nice job; so light and airy. We are going to paint the wallpaper in ours, but I think we will leave the cherry finish where it is.
Thank you! We are really happy with the paint job and have not had any trouble with leaving the wallpaper there.
We have same rv!wow now I have a really good idea how I’m going to renovate mine !
Very nice renovations. Looks light, airy, and happy. Just found your channel and subscribed. Safe travels.
+Go Big AND Go Home RV Adventures Thank you, and safe travels to you as well!
We had the same problem with our mattress not staying up. You can get stronger hydraulic arms that will keep it up.
Love your 5th wheel set-up....
+Ramona Wilson Samuel Thanks so much! Glad you stopped by our channel!
Hey nice job.One thing you can get heavy gas struts for the bed, easy fix..
Suggestion, Get heavy duty shocks for the bed and it will stay up because as you added the heavier mattress you added weight and the shocks are weight rated.
Thanks for the tip!
We are both just turned 53 early retirement off so I took it and selling everything and hitting the road in January 2019 after the Holidays.
Glad you found this video helpful, and thank you for the encouragement.
anyone else go 'ohhhhhhhhhh' when she opened the washer/dryer panel?
FYI You can get stronger struts on E bay...or wherever. Check the part # then search for it, find the rating for it, then go from there.
Thanks for the tip!
Very nice home. Very open and clean decor
Thank you! We are happy with how it turned out. Thanks for stopping by!
