The wonder effects sometimes play a really sped-up version of the Mario theme, and this is the same one that plays in the ending of Luigi's Mansion, when Mario is being put through the Portrificationizer in reverse.
If you 100% the game and never ever had a game over, this stage will spawn. If you play it, it will respawn after you played any other level. I played it for the first time after finishing the game at 100% (even unlocking the Voice (Off?) Badge yes), making it 101% I suppose ?
I never got a game over and found multiple of the bonus stages I believe that could be a condition but I think it could be like other games with some form of timer syncing with your score which when the last number is the same then it spawns it

you're actually missing one, perks of being young. when you do the battle challenges where you pick a power up to fight. it plays the a remix of the original mario bros game start up music. the one where you had to jump under enemies to knock them upside down
The bonus coin stage has nothing to do with game overs. I didn't get a game over for my entire playthrough, and I've seen three of these stages so far.
