For some odd reason, I hit the fairway woods better than hybrid or iron. However, the distance sometimes goes far, sometimes goes like 120 lol
Finally a great explanation. Par 5s kill me. I always lay up on 2nd shot Bc I cant hit a wood
I struggle with a lot of my game,(still trying to break a 100 on a consistent basis)but my 3 wood is one of my biggest struggles. I wish I would've found this video sooner, but I can't wait to go practice this set up and see how much this helps.

Used my 3 wood yesterday for the 1st time and a while, topped the ball and then benched the club for the rest of the day. Great timing on the videos as always!

The best piece of advice was the loft. I discovered that last year. I could never hit a 15 degree 3 wood. I changed to a 19 degree 5 wood and hit that further Than I ever could with the 3 wood. It’s my 220 to 235 club now and makes those par 5s easier to reach.

I’m back and forth between puring my 3 wood 275 and topping it 3 yards
One suggestion is to slow the arms down a touch. Might give you 255 but will eliminate some of the top shots.
@@chiragpatelgolf2897 worth a shot. I’ve been struggling with driver lately. Not setting up properly with my hip shift, but instead loading up weight on my back leg. Thought it might be leaking into the 3 wood setup.

Great tips. I have a 4 wood which is best for me as gives a little bit of extra loft without sacrificing much distance.

Ok with the 3 wood off the tee, even drawing the ball sometimes. Off the fairway, I tend to trust my hybrid 4 wood-22 degrees- I love it! Will try the 3 wood drill guys and thanks for the video.

My fairway wood play this season has been a disaster - this may be the re-set that I need. Off to the range!
I keep thinking i am but after my last couple rounds of golf breaking 75 (69 on par 71) I wanna listen to what he says but I also don't want to get inside my own head and then try something that won't work and will mess me up lol thats what you guys should do!! A video on like mental preparation or how to keep the right mind set while playing 🤔

I’ve found that if I put the ball back a bit in my stance to where it almost seems too far back, it’s actually at the bottom of my swing and I get it higher and straighter with my fairways. Did this yesterday when I played as was getting good height and distance with both my 3- and 5-woods. Thanks guys for the video.

That, and I took Andy’s advice and got fitted. Loved the experience, and I love my new set. Much better than my old demo clubs. No more slicing my driver, and better distance and dispersion with everything. Scoring clubs are very precise. Played a 4-player scramble yesterday at a charity and our team shot a four-over 76. So I got a glimpse of how the game is supposed to be played. Thanks, Me and My Golf, for the great content and encouragement.
I can't stop slicing my 3 wood and I do struggle of stopping my slicers but the trouble would be that you two play two handered as I am a one handed player
Okay that's no problem at all Hopefully we can help you still! Is it just your 3 wood your slicing the golf ball or is it most clubs?
Excellent stuff, and great production quality to boot. Curious if the setup for a hybrid shot is similar to the fairway metals? I just started golfing this year and default my hybrid set up quite similar to my driver setup.
Enjoyed this lucid exposition of technique for this club. Two points:
1. Would you be agreeable to being banned from playing the courses that insist on shirts with collars?
2. Any response on swing energy? I've wasted many shorts by swinging aggressively , looking for more distance. Now I play at say 70% energy and find average distance is better since the regular result, on average, is better than the average of the 1 in 10 wonder shot and the 9 poor shots.
Hi Ian. I agree that you can waste energy when hitting. I do believe we all have a % that is a sweet spot for us personally. It’s just finding what that is for each of us. If 70% works then that’s great

This is just what the doctor ordered! Next question, is a fairway wood something special? I have a three wood and a five wood that look like small versions of my driver. It is a very cheap set of clubs though, so I don't know how much difference that would make. But thank you for all your video's!

I am terrible 😂. But I don't think that's the clubs fault. Managed to use my 5 wood on the fairway this weekend. Was able to make good contact, so I am happy. Just need to hit straighter now😂

@@meandmygolf. Not always! I am inconsistent due to lack of playing. If I am lucky I get to play 10 to 15 rounds a year.

Many times I'm hitting from the rough and not the Fairway with my 3 wood and 5 wood, and I'm really trying to crush it. That's when my misses usually happen.
When you’re playing from the rough, majority of the time is the rough fairly thick?
@@meandmygolf. i would say moderately thick.
Our advice would be in positions like that use an iron. Using a wood from the rough is one of the biggest mistakes me see and more often that not they top it and have to force things even more. Keep it simple, get an iron up as far as you can and go from there and this could make a big difference to your score👍
