Hello James & Helen Just recently discovered your show! Love it!!! I was born in Woolton Liverpool and lived down the road and around the corner where John Lennon lived (never saw him!) I emigrated with my family to Australia in 1965. I used to go to Llandudno on holidays as a kid with my family. I saw your show about Llandudno, but you and Helen never went up the Great Orme by Tram or by cable car. You missed out on a wonderful experience! Anyway, thank you for showing the lovely places around Yorkshire (never been there!) Kind regards, Lyn.
I'm so sorry that we didn't go up the Great Orme! What a faux pas! Sorry about that. Would have loved to see it. We absolutely love Liverpool. Thank you for your lovely comment 😊
Hi another lovely clean and friendly Yorkshire village I think we exel in Yorkshire by showing others how we care even with those knitted things or with wonderful flowers I'm so proud to be a Yorkshire man ,great blog shame you missed the Race Course flowers keep it up.
My sister lives in Richmond North Yorkshire, Next time I Visit I'm going to ask her to take me to Thirsk looks really a lovely place, Love the video James.
What a lovely town and what lovely people, if only every town was like this wouldn't it be a better life for everyone. This goverment needs to get a grip grow some b...s sort out crime and lock these knife wielding scum up so we can all have a lovely existence like those beautiful people in Thirsk I'm sick of it. Sorry for the rant james but I get angry when I see what we could all have with a gov willing to do something about it. Well done pal for the vlog of tranquility it gave me an escape of madness for 30 min❤❤❤❤
Nice video James. I like the look of Thirsk town centre - Helen would be in heaven there with her favourite kind of shop. All the best to you on your travels.
We stayed in The Three Tuns a good 22 years ago , it was a private hotel back then , and now it's a jolly good old wetherspoons ( Love spoons ) it's nice to see the place still operational.
Enjoyed that. Number of times I've travelled through Thirsk on way to Dales/Lakes and can't remember stopping there. I must make the effort. Walked along the escarpment from Sutton Bank car park to the airfield where the gliders take off. The views are brilliant and it takes you, via approx 100stone steps if I remember rightly, down to a car park below the white horse.
Well we took the plunge and went to Thirsk today and loved it.we finished off in the book cafe which my son loved.my daughter has special needs and enjoyed it too.enjoy your weekend with Helen.we always enjoy your vlogs.keep up the good work.🙂
I go to Thirsk every week with my Dad , we love them fish and chips and Thirsk also as the best pork pies ,I have bought some lovely dresses from the charity shops .The lady you was talking to from the charity shop she always gives my dog lassie a treat its my dogs favourite place to visit too., glad you went James you need to take Helen she would also l9ve the friendliness.
Surprised. What a lovely town. Loved the South African lady. Shame about the rain, I’m sure if it was sunny you could have spent longer mooching around. Thanks James. Looking forward to your next trip.
Oh I was in Thirsk 3 weeks ago with the Mrs.... Washout at the "Great Yorkshire show" tractor had to tow us out the mud!!😂 But ticked a bucket list by visiting James Herriot's ol' veterinary practice... Magic 🪄 love Yorkshire ❤ thanks for the videos great to watch 🫶
Another brilliant video, thank you. Will definitely add Thirsk for a place visit. Fascinating story re chair. Love watching your videos so relaxing and both you and Helen so genuine.
Great town. Lovely people. Suggestion, if you’re up that way some time, would you take a run into Carlisle and do the castle, military museum and the cathedral.
Just been to the White Horse and Thirsk this morning on the way back from 3 days travelling around North Yorkshire in the camper van. We parked near the Gliding club and walked along the path above Horse and along the ridge with great views! 👍
I absolutely loved this fascinating story about busby goodness me what a cad he was and quite rightly got his comeuppance lovely people lovely quaint little place brilliant 👍😎
AUSTIN REED, London (iconic, upmarket ladies & gents outfitters) had their HQ in lovely THIRSK (I worked for them, many, many moons ago). Another FAB vid, James 👍✨ Helebobs would love the town (and, like me, it's quality charity shops!) 💖✨
When you filmed in the van at the beginning, you looked to be looking off to the side a little, maybe looking at the screen and not the camera..but when you filmed in the van after your lunch, you were defo looking straight at the camera (us) ..thought it was my eyes at first..anyhow thought I’d tell you incase you’d not noticed n wanted to change it..if not I’m waffling for nothing 🤣😂🤣😂 Praise God for you cheering our days up 🌈✝️🕊️😘🥰😍😇 x x x miss Helibobs though x x x but you do great on your own too x x x
Great video James I think the horse on the hill is a great place got some great memories of going there often when I was a lass. You could actually play on it years ago but then I think the English heritage got hold of it & stopped people going on it to preserve it…….
That looked a really nice place . I am going to go and visit that all creatures great and small museum and all those charity shops lol. You need to start selling those mugs I want one 😊
Aw, Thirsk is gorgeous. I went a few weeks ago, mainly to visit a National Trust place, Fountains Abbey. I dropped to see my daughter too in Dishforth. A very beautiful place!
Honestly all creatures great and small is prob one of the best things on tv these days . It’s my guilty pleasure reminds me of old school Sunday tele . 😂❤
Thanks James, I really loved this one …makes me want to come up norf and have a nosey!! I think the little town had a lot to offer, I’m not interested in the Vet thingy but loved the other museum and all those charity shops❤️❤️I would be in heaven 😂🙄 Church was interesting too but I don’t really like it when people feel the need to talk to you when you are alone….its not that I’m an unfriendly person but I like to do my own thing and after chatting for a few mins it’s time to move on!!! That’s not normal is it ? Do you think I need help😮😅 and can you recommend a shrink!!! Love these kind of blogs ….we see things that we would probably never see so thank you ….and no i wouldn’t sit in that chair (you never know)
Thirsk is so lovely. The Pet Blue Cross Charity Shop was sweet as was the lady running it. Your lunch looked amazing! Haha, story of cursed chair was delightful - eerie music added to fun. I wouldn't sit in it - why take the chance, haha? White Horse is beautiful.
We go to Thirsk 2 or 3 times a year and always stay at the old oak. Literally everything on the menu is top notch and the accommodation is mega. Crab and Lobster is a must visit too. And finally . . . . . if you like Terry Hall, checkout his collaboration with Dave Steward under the group name "Vegas". I reckon you'll love it. Much love big fella x
One of the best bits of your vlogs is the music you add. I loved that music going in to Herriot museum. No he’s not my cuppa but we learn as we go. Looks like a Norman church. I love those knitted things as part of some group for thirsk. Whoever made that wood thing over the font 🤷♀️ was it? Anyway, must have done a few hours carving that. One of the cities you made me want to visit was Newcastle. I never got a good look at it years ago when I went. Thanks for sharing…. Very quiet where you are today. People doing those carvings today would be called vandals lol. Go get food now… enjoy!
Ah, James, thank you, I love Thirsk & I now have to go back & visit that Blue Cross shop , those ladies have it beautiful. I also spied the loveliest dress for Helen too, it was that blue patterned one on display as you passed at the top of the shop, perfect for Spain 😊 😉

Wow been years since i heard that song. Wow look at your muscels lucky Hellibobs. When you walk down a high street and its really really quite you should play "ghost town" fun boy three. That was lovely the James Herriot museum. Your telling me you didnt watch that on a Sunday along with Black Beauty!!!!
James, I too have been having dpf troubles with my diesel ford car. I was interested in the Carly device in your promotion so I took a look. I was put off after realising that although the device is actually free, you would be paying a yearly subscription in excess of £50. Your discount code only applies to the first year too. So, BUYER BEWARE, be careful and read everything before making your purchase. Also, I live near Haworth. So a heads up of your intended visit date would be good. I may see you there. 😊
Quality track by fun boy 3 and quite apt of what’s going on in the uk at the moment Bloody diesels pain with all the sensors but keep on top of things 😊 Great vid by the way as always 😊
In the weeks video …. The general takes on an undercover solo mission as he infiltrates the good folk of North Yorkshire (typical southie), to sample some proper food done reet, then almost blows his cover by ordering an ‘earl grey’ (he’s a wrong un). All whilst GI Jayne may or may not be on a covert mission back in South Yorkshire (rumour has it only Yorkshire will do!)
