I have a feeling that either Solaris or the Time Eater might be involved with the time travel paradox, Since bulma is out of the picture destroying the time machine plan.
Damon What If? Can I make a few suggestions for this story? If I have sent this to you before then I apologize. Because I had just a blast of inspiration.
Can I make 6 suggestions? Have the Time Stones and also the Chaos Emeralds slow Sonic and his Animal friends aging. Frankly with all the time travel shenanigans in Sonic it's not that far fetched. Also can I make another suggestion? Have Sonic the Hedgehog reach the same level of power, all of the same transformations, and also the sheer speed he has in the Archie Comics and him becoming a force of nature.
Also give him all of the abilities from the video games and also co-op or in vs mode in some games such as aerokenisis, And the abilities he has in Sonic Battle and also all the Sonic Games. Eventually make Sonic become an incarnation of Chaos Energy like in the Archie Comics.
I would do the same with Knuckles and also the other Sonic Characters. Make them composites of their various official incarnations across the franchise but also boosted to fit the setting. For example give Knuckles the back story he has in the games along with some of the abilities he has across the franchise and make Knuckles into a Living Chaos Emerald like in The Archie Comic's series! That would be awesome!
Add that with God Ki when you go into Dragon Ball Super and you can make sure the Sonic Crew are going to go places.
And here is suggestion for Goku's growth. Please let Son Goku get all of his official Super Saiyan forms to make him a little more powerful before going into Dragon Ball Super.
Let Goku keep his tail to master the Oozaru, Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan 2, Super Saiyan 3, and The Golden Oozaru form too and finally him getting Super Saiyan 4 and it's variants before going into the realm of the Gods.
Son Goku can prove he has mastered himself and gains better character development. Goku's path of accepting the Saiyan within ends with him gaining Super Saiyan 4 and it's variants in the Buu Saga under Old Kai. If that happens it would be symbolism of him mastering the primal powers within him and is symbolism of Goku fully accepting his Saiyan roots.
And when you go into Dragon Ball Super Son Goku gets the Super Saiyan God forms to really push Son Goku's power into the stratosphere with Goku mastering Ultra Instinct in the Tournament of Power with his Super Saiyan forms being the final step of Son Goku mastering his mind and also all of his Super Saiyan powers. Super Saiyan 4 can act as a bridge to Son Goku going beyond the apex Primal Saiyan Power and into the realm of the Divine.
Ultra Instinct must be the apotheosis of Goku's journey. When Son Goku has mastered his body and also his mind and the power of his roots. Imagine Son Goku slowly breathing in and after reflecting on his journey and that's when it snaps when Goku gains that form. And then he add's Ultra Instinct into his base forms, his Super Saiyan forms, and his Super Saiyan God forms.
For Sonic have him face down the monster inside him and conquer it to gain full control of the power inside him and transform it into light. Maybe Illumina, The Goddess of Dreams and also Lumina Flowlight from Sonic Shuffle help Sonic to conquer the demon inside him.
Now for the Gods of the Universe. Here is an idea for the various deities for when you approach Dragon Ball Super. In fact you can rip this off whole sale if you need it.
Let Solaris be the head honcho of maintaining all of Space and Time with Chronoa acting as his stand in and second in command for when he has to be elsewhere in the multiverse, Chronoa also has the Time Patrolers who also work as the multiverses police like the old Archie Comics Zone Cop Corps as extensions of her and Solaris's will.
Kami's job and those like him are meant to do their official job of overseeing the developments of planet's they inhabit and reporting to their superiors. But Earth's Kami has to pull a double shift of watching the Master Emerald(Which has all the abilities it has across the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise)and it was made by the Primordial Gods such as Solaris, Light Gaia, Dark Gaia, Illumina, The Goddess of Dreams and also Lumina Flowlight from Sonic Shuffle to keep the powers of the Chaos Emeralds in check.
Make the Sonic the Hedgehog deities be like the Titans of Greek Myth, powerful primordial entities who helped order the cosmos before the next generation of deities took over, unlike the Titans they are still around and they have a lot of power.
Give the lesser Kai's jurisdiction of ruling over stars and the four quadrants of the universe they in habit. The Supreme Kai's job is to lead all the Kai's and they are also responsible for creating planets and races and working with the Dragon Ball God's of Destruction to keep Balance between Creation and Destruction.
The Angels serve under their father the Grand Priest and Zeno and train the Dragon Ball God's of Destruction in their duties. The God's of Destruction work to destroy old planets to make way for the new and also part of their job is to eliminate universal level threats.
Shadow is the ultimate lifeform my ass, when cell shows up he is gonna have everything he needs especially after absorbing the androids

Don't get me wrong tho I absolutely love Cell probably more than I like the sonic series in general but that doesn't take away from the fact that shadow is still the ultimate lifeform by default

While Sonic still remained mostly the same, TAILS WAS EXACTLY WHAT I WOULD EXPECT FROM A CHARACTER GOING THROUGH TRAUMA, GRIEF AND LOSS!
Also that Fleetway Super Sonic moment...it sure will be intriguing to see what else Sonic kept in that pocket.

What I like the most about this story is the liberties you take with it. You don't just add minor elements to the story and just do a little bit of change there and there. You expand, you make us wonder, you show clear cause and effect. It's like I am looking at a whole new story here entirely. That's what I like the most from this series so far and what I always anticipate to see in the future.

The fact that 18 and 17 fused into one, means that Nazo and possibly other fan worked characters from Dragon Ball AF, Nazo Unleashed, Sonic RPG, SMBZ might be part of the story

In the present timeline why do I feel like with Eggman will eventuality get Sage as a daughter by the time that happens he will not work with anyone and sage also sees that as best because how much he gets backstabbed by any other people working with him. And in fact when more people approach Eggman like the red ribbon army would probably do to make cell max. Eggman And his forces literally chase out the intruders out of eggmans base

My god... Surge and Kit stole the show while they were here. Truly might've been able to kill the Androids once and for all if they didn't play around and just killed them quickly. Or they went in with a plan. Hope their past selves can also get some time to shine eventually.
Bulma being gone means the time machine is... Hmmm. Hopefully Silver learns his time travelling technique or Tails is smart enough to surpass Bulma, though with how angry and depressed he'll be with Gohan and Sonic dead i dunno. Eggman and Bulma really were on a different league.
Speaking of Eggman... Truly Cell has to be a monster in order to even go against these monsters. Would he actually be the hero of the future at that point? Ironic.
Also... Random thought but since i saw Scourge pop up in the intro... He's either in Universe 6, is Goku (Sonic) Black, or... Eggman had a sense of humor and made his final creation look like his greatest rival as Cell. The anticipation is killing me!

I’m honestly shocked Future Tails was mourning Vegeta considering the Prince of All saiyans literally SNAPPED his neck like a stick of Pretzel or a Kit-Kat in front of Sonic just to emotionally screw with him to kill him
He wasn't mourning him per say the same way he was with everybody else he mentioned there. He was mainly only mentioning him because he was Trunks' father, and since in these years he'd understood his saiyan pride more and more. I'll try to touch on that a bit more in Part 3.

Here’s an idea in the future.
When Perfect Cell come back after blowing himself up he fires two deathbeams at Trunks and Silver but Amy pushes Silver out of the way. Getting hit by the death beam herself and dying along with Trunks. This combined with everything he’s witnessed in the future timeline causes Silver to snap and turn into Dark Silver.
The stakes are so high and we haven’t even reached 06 yet.

Really hoping Mephiles shows up next part, like the Androids kill off tails with no way to make a Time Machine, but then mephiles shows up trying to manipulate silver and trunks, saying they can save the future and all that crap before sending them to the past.
It makes sense since the doomed Freiza arc was shadow the hedgehog and the next game after that is sonic 06.
I think mephiles will appear in the Goku black arc and it would make more sense there since they're gods
SILVER [vo]: To this day I still think nobody won that battle. The androids managed to kill Sonic and Gohan. But, we destroyed the only thing that turned anyone into mechas. But after that. The androids started showing no mercy. If you can call being mechanized mercy.

The Chaos Z-Fighters are gonna have a blast with the Androids, Emerl, and Cell, and whatever else they run into in the later specials. Seeing Surge and Kit was a nice touch, even if they were only a match for the Super Androids before they fused.
Looks like Sonic forgot one thing for being the Master/Sensei to Silver and Trunks...

This story was amazing I wish we could get more of the future story. Just see how trunks and silver train, and how tails will react, but Oh my God this is so good.

I am curious to see where this goes. This version of the Future timeline seems way more hopeless then normal, yet so far you’ve blended both Sonic and Dragon Ball really well, so am eagerly awaiting the next part.
I will admit, Surge & Kit were really short lived tbh, felt like they added very little to the story. Maybe better luck with them in the past timeline? Starline could still be a thing?

I’ve been watching this story since part one, and it’s has grown to be much more than a story. Everybody in the dragon ball fandom knows that the future timeline is dark but after watching this, even with the extra fighters, they still lost. but now trunks and silver are the last Warriors of hope another amazing part Can’t wait to the next one Bravo 👏👏👏.
This hits so fuqin hard like HOLY SHIT. Confessions, im a SUPER casual Sonic fan. Like never had a chance to play the games growing up although i was a super fan of Sonic X. When does series ended I guess that was pretty much it since I didn't play any other games besides like Sonic Heroes once or twice.
So half of the time i dont know what the hell is going on but following your what if 1st then Pickled Dil's What if Metal Sonic Turns Good and The Mighty Emperor's What if Sonic Died, I pretty much got the gist.
So even if im Casual now, just letting you know.... This is close to a masterpiece

Man, this was wild how in the world are they going to beat Perfect Cell in this story? Maybe Super Saiyan 4 or maybe Hyper Sonic even then I'm not sure, I definitely don't see even Super Saiyan 3 or the Super Sonic 2 Form from Final Horizon giving our heroes anywhere near enough power to win this. On another note, I really like how you used the image of Super Saiyan Rage to show the mix of the Chaos Energy Super Form and the Super Saiyan Transformation it actually gives Super Saiyan Rage a reason to exist. Anyways thanks for all your hard work on this part Damon, I can't to see the next part of this series.

Love how much the characters changed and transformed over the years, both figuratively and literally. Tails in particular was possibly the most interesting one to me 😎
God though..... even Bulma bit it in this timeline. That one gripped the heartstrings 🥺😭.
I wonder how they're going to patch things up in this story. It's looking pretty bleak, and yet you know that there's going to be a way because otherwise the story would just end. But I'm hanging on the edge of my seat eagerly awaiting the next episode. It's just that guuuuud 😍
After 13 Years of dealing the Andorids, at first their plan of finding the weakness to 17, 18 and emril; to creating the counterparts andorids to surpass them, Surge and Kit. All seems close to comfort of ending the nightmare of the andorids once and for all, but alas the enemies have to use their last resort. As 1718 a fusion that unleash the hidden powers of the chaos emeralds power was Strong enough to not only defeating them, but killing their counterparts and finishing off the King of resistant Sonic The Hedgehog and the son of Son Goku, Gohan. But as both Trunks and Silver seeing the fallen heroes/family members lifeless, awaking their power of hope and avenge the fallen and all citizens that were killed or inficted by the metal virus.
But How did andorids discover the hidden powers of the chaos emralds?
Will the heroes use emril to find more data on the andorids?
Why did Sonic mention/aplogizing to Cell?
And what are the last of the Chaos Zfighters next plan against the Andorids and Merge 1718?

I can bet that they did a lot of playing with the emeralds and discovered the fusion techinque, smart of them to save it as a last resort, but bad news is they can make a easier target to be killed off.

Both trunks and silver have finally unlocked. They’re hidden power but at what cost still now that they’ve locked their power they’re the only ones who can fight the androids now and hopefully tales will get over his morning and build the scene they need to get back to the past.
Dude this episode is literally peak, can’t wait for Part 3 of the Cell Saga.

I admit I'm not a huge fan of IDW, but seeing Whisper, Surge and Kit was a nice surprise! Too bad we lost Bulma and Sally tho, after Tree of Might and you revealed Future Sonic's design, I was a bit expecting to see a young Sonia or Manic (or whatever their kids in Archie were called) but who knows, maybe they and Lara-su get more lucky in the present. On other hand, the fact that not even a SSJ2 Gohan could do a thing to Super 1718 makes me really curious about what's next. Good job as always, Damon!

Quick Question: In universe did Future Tails based Surge off of Scourge because the events of the Tree of Might would have had to have happened in the Future Timeline. Also it’s kinda nice Tails likes Sonic enough to create an android that’s eerily similar to his evil counterpart. I wonder if that says something about him that this story doesn’t tell or show like if Sonic died and Scourge were to somehow comeback to Universe 7 how would Future Tails react?
Edit: I also like how you had Future 17 genuinely care about Emerl’s well being I mean I know he cared about 18 in canon when Future Trunks killed her but I highly doubt canon Future 17 would care about Emerl. It really makes all these characters feel so human and shows that in another time ( aka the present) they all could have been friends but a combination of situations outside of their control, bad decisions, monologuing, oversight and the Androids having 13 years to develop each other’s powers caused all of this to turn out the way they did and to be honest it might be even more tragic then in canon like a old play
I had Tails base Surge and Kit in this scenario on himself and Sonic. Mainly since he viewed "the old days" as his peak, and thought that if these two were like how they were back then, then they would easily defeat the Androids.

this is an amazing episode. i didn't see that plot twist with kit and surge coming. i cant wait for episode 3 to come out.

Once more, the future timeline is as bleak as ever. I really liked that you took from a lot of sources like Prime, SaTAM and IDW for the ruined world, plus the voice acting was definitely better than last time.
Surge & Kit were pretty enjoyable too, just wish you didn't kill them off just like that...

This is greatest part of the story yet showed off a whole bunch of new abilities, such as the chaos unification to me to be honest I wasn’t expecting to see a fusion with it here at least this type of fusion and gohan using chaos energy along us super sayian form.
Though I am sad about all the deaths that happen seriously this feature is even more bleak than how it wasn’t canon by a long shot.
But you still did a great job like always keep up the good work 😊

Damn, this was pretty good! Shame Surge and Kit kinda just appear here then just die, like yeah they were putting in the work but still, hopefully this won't be the only time we see them. (Even if it's impossible for that to be the case.)
I don't really have much else to say that everyone else probably hasn't said already, you cooked an excellent dish and i can't wait for more. (Though i will say that I love how the IDW characters are finally coming into the mix.)
I fully expect Surge to make a reappearance out of spite.

I honestly can't wait to see part 3, I'm hoping we actually get to see how those two are supposed to go back in time to stop Goku from dying while also not letting any of their parents know that they are their kids in the future. (Edit: I hope we can also see Android 21 in the prime timeline now I know that 21 isn't a part of the actual timeline until AFTER the movie where Gohan got into his beast form, I honestly think Android 21 should be shipped with 21, even tho Android 21 is actually 1 years old IN ANDROID YEARS she's technically older or still the same age she was she was turned into an android)

So from the fact that Emerl was shut down, I feel Damon is planning on Trunks and Silver bringing him back to Tails to find a cure for the metal virus and to make a fighter able to fight the androids better, but when he is reactivated he has no data from the shut down, so they time travel to be able to give Goku the medicine and get data for Emerl from the past fighters.
That was insane and amazing
