Theo, this is by far one of the best sweeping lessons i've found. I watched this about an hour ago and started practicing the A minor arp with my metronome and I'm already doing triplets at 120 bpm! I think I would be able to push it to 140 or 150 today if i had the time. Thanks again. Keep up the hard work.
Holy crap, 200pb is freaking sick!!! You are a beast, and i could hear the notes well. Its hard to keep it clean at that kinda speed without it sounding sloppy , you have insane technique.
great lesson! keep them comming, you really just got me outt of a hard slump! i couldnt seem to match my speed with my picking hand with my fingers, but then i relaxed them, played a little mellow song then dived at this lesson and it was very sucsessfull! thank you so much!!! :)
Finally I get it. I thought is took strength when actually you must relax to do this. That is why the Heads are good at this, because they are sooo mellow. Thanks Theo. I will try this with a beer.
Best lesson of sweep picking I've ever watched !!! Thanks so much for making it ! (And I've watched tons and tons of videos to learn how to do it right ... No one helped ...)
dude that last one was incredible. i’ve been practicing this technique every single day, and every time i think i almost have it its like my hands get dumb on me.
I couldn't believe that I someday learn the basics of sweep picking, but because of you, it seems that impossible can be possible!! I will recommend your videos to anyone who wants to learn some stuff with guitar :) Thanks Man!
OMG....thank you so much for this . I have been banging my head against ThE wall trying to speed up the Am Arpeggio. Once I shifted positions dam I..got it .now I can start to build speed .....ty
poly kali doulia opos panta theodor! poly kala kai voithitika mathimata gia intermediate level guitarist kai advanced fysika!!! keep up the good work!!
yes, i am using 3rd finger on both strings try to use the rolling finger technique, it is easy, do it very slow and then speed it up when you feel comfortable
Cheers dude for this video! Been practicing hard and developing speed i never knew i had before. I'll just keep at it upping the tempo and hopefully i'll be doing as well as you! Many thanks again!
so much thank you! don't have any electric guitar anymore :( :( :( :( :( :( so had to pick up classical laying around and try to see what you are talking about! love this!
Thanks for the lesson, I'm really liking your lessons you really break it down well. I've Subscribed to your channel and i look forward to more great lessons from you in the future. Thanks so much.
Glad to see a new lesson Ziras! Great lesson too. I hope to see more and different types of arpeggio lessons in the near future. Question I have a pretty good grasp over sweep picking, but when i lift off the last note, it rings out causing noise. Is this a matter of my technique? Noise gate? The guitars Action? Thanks a lot Ziras, your the man.
Hi Theodore! Loved this video, thanks! I was wondering if you could help with a 16th-note triplets piece I've been trying to pick up on guitar. I'm posting the reference video where they play it, below. The time-stamp is 19:27-19:41. The notes they are playing are these: B-E-G-(higher B)-G-E, then A-D-F#-(higher A)-F#-D, then G-C-E-(higher G)-E-C, and then F#-B-D#-(higher F#)-D#-B. But I can't figure out the correct fingering positions that will make it easiest to play these 16th notes sweeps. I can't properly catch the positions from the video either. Are they barring across the frets on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th strings? It would be great if you can get the time to have a look and help out! Here's the video link (19:27-19:41): ruclips.net/video/UPq3Y5XNjJY/видео.htmlm27s Thanks in advance!
These sound like 3 string sweeps done on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd strings moving down in a descending pattern. Pretty straight forward and easy to pick up speed on once you have them under your fingers. Hope this helps and make sure that you play each figure 3 times before moving on to the next figure. I wasn't going to tab out each figure 3 times as it would take up too much space. Good luck with it let me know how you make out with it. FIGURE 1 (play 3X) FIGURE 2 (play 3x) 1st-e----------------15----19-----15-----------------------------------------14----------17--------14 2nd-b----------17----------------------17------------------------------15-------------------------------15 3rd-g-----16-------------------------------16----------------------14----------------------------------------14
Hi man, my name is Omar, it's very clear and very important to do exactly you explain, but also isn't very easy to do. Please go on showing another lessons. Thanks.
Fully agree with you bud... been a metal guitarist for 15 years, ive never got ma head round.sweep picking.... until now!!!! Holy shit, no sleep.for me.tonight! haha.
Very good lessons! Do you use the same fingers for the same notes when going upwards again? that I didn't see... like that you're using the first finger again for the c on the b-string and so on.
@jekyll1776 the most important is to do a smooth movement of you fingers over the fretboard also you need a good distortion in order to pick NOT very hard
Helpful. I lack the manual dexterity to do these easily but this does clarify some things. Mine will probably always sound like mud, but oh well. I'm sure with some practice using your instructions they can at least become passable.
@phyrl3 divide you practicing time in to 2 categories 1. Technique 2. Scales-Improvisation take it easy...you know better which are you good and bad sides of your playing so...go for it
Thodori, during the upstrokes I have a difficulty playing the A (3rd str) and E (4th str) with the third finger. When downstroking is easy to get them with the same finger because i point with my third finger at E and then lie it down to get the A. But when i have to do the opposite is difficult. Are you using the 3rd finger for both A and E during upstrokes? Thanks for your videos and efforts in general. These are really helpful.

very helpful video.
Are there tabs for the lick at the very beggining of the video? ( 0:00 - 0:07 )
