Awesome video! As an amateur disc golfer learning to throw far but still be accurate I was wondering if I should go with a power grip or stick with my pinch grip?

My thoughts:
1. Coach T you're approaching fast but then slowing down and wasting your approach. Your "coil back" should be plyometric like a counter movement jump (To jump, we quickly drop our hips and then jump, we don't squat slowly and jump. In the same way, we should quickly coil back and then uncoil). Cola looks great.
2. You guys need to use a Techdisc. At your level and arm speed, a few degrees of nose angle, elevation angle, etc easily add or subtract 100ft to your throw, and it's very hard to feel a few degrees. I'm 5'8", 42 years old, and my max speed is 66 mph. A good distance for me is around 450ft. A few degrees of nose angle, etc can easily cost me 100ft, and you guys are way past me.
I'm a believer and fan of Tech Disc myself. I think it's been a great tool for learning, and can probably be an even better tool for teaching in the right hands. 🙂

Just stop. The 'slingshot' technique is trash. Not a single slingshot video has ever helped my throw.
Hell even Overthrow has been more useful, and most of their videos are just BS Josh though of the day before.
Has any video or online coach ever helped you? Not trying to be combative, but I think both SS and OT have put out some solid content, and I find it hard to believe you're at a level where you're watching videos from both of them, but not taking anything positive from either.
@@NickCarroll I already said I've gotten some value out of some OT vids. But honestly the best things to watch are slow-mo videos of pros throwing.
I'm also a member of PowerDGA, all their videos are from actual tested pros and I've seen a ton of improvement from their instruction. And you know what none of them say? None of them say to throw from the back leg, and none of them preach the 'deep coil'.
Cannot dispute Eagle has a deep reach back. It works for me because I’m limber and strong. Proper coil is stretching the muscles slingshot indicates. Pros are different for many reasons. Primarily (I see) ex baseball players are already developed to throw discs. The new Canadian girl … was a competitive rower
Distance is important but control is just as important not to mention putting practice and upshot practice and mental discipline. My competitive putting is good, my practice, very good, but alone … my pressure on myself is choking the game out of me. It all counts. Disc golf is life
@@ERICWAGNERSLUCID to be fair eagle has been playing since childhood and has developed the tendons and such necessary to pull it of. BUT he also just got back from injury because he overdoes it, so.....

You can put up a target that he has to coil and touch with the disc to give feedback he coiled back far enough.
