I wore ear plugs to a rock concert once as a spectator and found it actually made the music sound better. Could still hear everything perfectly clearly since it was so loud but could not hear all the other noise at a concert that isn't music. Didn't go home with tinnitus either.
Yep. Concert plugs are fantastic. No droning noise getting in the way of the music and no ear pain either. It's definitely unintuitive, but ear plugs make concerts better.
Yep, during normal times I attend a lot of concerts and gigs, and wearing earplugs almost always makes the music sound better. If the sound engineer is wearing ear plugs, the music always sounds better with earplugs.
I use the motorcycle ones shown in the vid. They are from Alpine. They work great, and the helmet coms sound better because of them. Music is clearer and less "raspy". Next season going for custom ones though.
I was literally just told TODAY that I will have to be let go from my job working at a dog shelter because the fact that I wear earplugs to protect my hearing from the constant head splitting barks that a lot of our dogs let out. I don't know what to say as this is clearly an OSHA violation so I did all I could so far and filed a complaint. Their reasoning is that wearing hearing protection makes me unable to possibly hear one of my co-workers being attacked by dogs or some similar emergency, which is down right ridiculous. The timing of this video makes me start to believe I am in a simulation, god damn.
Ok, like surface level I get their point, but ear plugs don't block *that* much noise, and they come in various, uh, strengths. I hope you can fight that somehow
Ive had tinnitus since I was a kid I found out that small ringing at night wasn't a thing for most people, since then I've tried to protect what I have. Now I work in aviation and almost every day I'm standing behind jet engines, so I always wear double hearing protection, Ear muffs and ear plugs. Most people just wear earmuffs and it drives me nuts. I'm glad too see videos like yours expressing the importance of proper hearing safety.
If you're just wearing muffs you gotta shell out for some *serious* dB reduction. I mean a jet engine is nearly as loud as a gunshot, but continually. My dad's got hearing loss and it was absolutely from his time as a aircraft mechanic in Vietnam.
I work in aviation as well, as a technician, and one of the really frustrating things to me is the fact that if you have a comm headset, you are less protected. And I need to have a comm headset so I can help the pilots troubleshoot.
Same for me. Childhood fireworks took some of my upper range from both ears and left tinnitus. Doubled up for military service so I didn't lose the rest.
@@AhDollar Steve Jobs also famously pulled out the original iPod nano from there (not that most people have those anymore, but this is at least partially an iPod channel)
I had a pair of silicone ear plugs for swimming that were freaking neon radioactive green. Went to the doctor's six months later and she goes "WHAT IS THAT???" in shock and slight horror. Broke out the giant syringe and blew like six full syringes worth of water into my ear and finally ploop, out comes a chunk of that. Never even noticed. Yeah. Avoid those.
I've been using the Alpine ones that have filters on them for ages... They are awesome. It's like turning down the volume dial in real life. I use them for rehearsals and also going to concerts and all that. Sometimes even for sleep if there's construction noises outside or stuff like that. Love them.
Yea same. One cool benefit is, that you can "adjust" the volume with the filters. So in a Jazz concert i take the lowest filter, while in a Metal concert i take the strongest one.
For the earwax-situation: There are sprays you can buy at pharmacies and drug stores for that. You spray it in your ear (which fells weirdly awesome) let it soak a bit and after 5 minutes all the gunk is dissolved and runs straight out. It works really really well.
I love the occasional "ahh my pkcell" I got real hard core into hearing protection after I started noticing some mild tinnitus. I'm in my mid 20's, I want to keep hearing good for the rest of my life, so I had to do something. A well-timed video entitled "Get some goddamn..." on the channel "Matt and Tom" got me to buy my first set of christmas tree musician's earplugs. I've since gotten some goddamn... custom fitted ear plugs and, while the ones I got aren't super comfy for sleeping, they're brilliant for concerts! I'll have to give those happy ears a go since I live by a fire station and they just go on their PA all night regardless of the fact that they're literally 150 yards from a residential building :|
It's been years since I first saw that video, it may be time to get some god damn. I've had tinnitus since I was a little kid and figured that it was normal, then when I learned what it is I figured it would just stay like that, but I'm worried about my future hearing. I should get some god damn, not to sleep (I can't sleep without youtube videos in the background) but for the regular protection. Thanks for reminding me of the matt and tom video!
You know you're a good creator when you can make *earplugs* interesting. On ya, Dank! P.S. I've been daily-driving 3M's yellow foam plugs for years now, though now I'm tempted to upgrade...
What the heck I was sleep deprived and delirious at 2am last night and I thought to myself "dankpods should do earplugs so I can get some sleep." Seeing this day after is soooo trippy.
Wow! Dankpods really has that extra edge when it comes to engaging and helping his audience. Unlike other audiophiles, besides helping you explore actual good audio, he also encourages to explore good solution for protecting your ears! It all comes down to this, whether audiophile or not, you only get one set of brilliant, rather priceless ears!! Take care of them, and they will take care of you! Much love Dank!
I’ve been having horrible, horrible sleep problems for years. I’ve done all the ear plugs, and all of them never worked for me. After a terrible night of no sleep, I drove extremely tired and slap happy to a local electronics store and dropped $200 on the Bose Sleepbuds based on your recommendation. I sleep so well now, thank you. It’s so peaceful.
I read that wrong the first time and I thought you said that after a terrible night of no sleep, you drove extremely tired _into_ an electronics store. 😬😂
I work at a factory that requires ear protection (you’d be surprised how loud the clanking of empty metal cans are). I’ve tried and had to use the foam earplugs many times and they just hurt my rather small and narrow ears. I honestly don’t like in ear buds either. So I’ve had to use the over the ear muffs (luckily provided by my work, as are any ear protection) and they are so much better. Granted they made my ears sweat and produce more earwax than I used to, but comfort and protection wise, they’re great
Tip for the Bose Sleep Buds: I got mine after watching your first video about them. In the first week, I had the same problem of pain from my ears. I even nicked one ear and found myself bleeding in the morning, even if it was just a little bit. After that, I put them in more properly, as they mention in the app. That helped a lot. I had no issue since then. And yes I really need them. The motorway isn't far from my room and in my dorm people just don't see the possibility that there are more than themself.
Kudos to you for recognizing that there are other people around and choosing earbuds to block out the noise. Instead of just turning what your listening to up which only causes everyone else to do the same. I wish the people near me when I lived in a dorm closet for a year did the same.
Mate, fellow drummer - I swear I've had that literal exact ear cleaning experience at the doctor. It's hard to describe how satisfying a sensation it is to suddenly turn the volume of the world up a couple clicks
This reminds me when I first started going to concerts. My dad is both a musician and goes to a lot of live events. He gave me a pair of the squishy orange ones and my biggest regret is not using them for the first few times
You are my patron saint of audio! I've not bought headphones without seeing if / what you have rated them since I discovered your channel and now my newly diagnosed neurodivergent brain can finally buy earplugs! Saving not only me but everyone around me. (side note your accent was so comforting every time I was home sick in lil old Tokyo)
I absolutely love the Earos Ones. They're really good for going to concerts. You can be pretty close to the amplifiers and all the noise well still protecting your ears and filtering some of the sounds through to your ears at the same time. They usually go for about 40 bucks a guitar center and come with two separate fitting Christmas tree style silicone tips. I use them at a festival this year and I was really satisfied watching St Vincent at the front of the stage protecting my ears and still taking in the music.
0:28 - Can confirm, I'm a Dad and I absolutely have a big bag of orange foamy boys in the garage, I have them for when I'm using powertools and stuff. But what I use for my everyday reusable earplugs i.e motorcycling and sleeping is the Loop "Quiet" earplugs. They're super comfy and low profile, I barely feel them and I haven't pulled them out in my sleep yet! Totally rate them if you haven't checked them out, but don't bother with the "Experience" ones, they're rubbish and the hard plastic makes them less comfortable. The Loop's case is a bit nicer than the Happy Ears too which is a plus.
+1 for the soft loop plugs. I swapped out the silicone tips for some IEM tips I prefer and they're the best earplugs I've tried, and by swapping the tips between silicone and foam I can change the sound reduction for different conditions.
@@ImCannibalOfficial Foam tips are a godsend! I find normal silicone ones irritate my ears after a long time so for earphones I use comply foam tips. Oddly the standard Loop Quiet tips didn't irritate my ears so I haven't bothered changing them. 🤷🏼♂️
@@comuniunecuosho-campulbudi7611I personally think the loop quiet are way better and I've used both. The largest happy ears were too small for my right ear canal and had to be removed with tweezers. Luckily happy ears has a really good refund policy and actually proactively email you a couple weeks after your order to see if they're working out and remind you to request a refund if not. Great company to deal with, but I far prefer the loops.
As someone that marched 7 years as a snare drummer without protection, I can certainly tell I'm a bit deaf because of it. I only started using protection after I got a nasty infection that left one of my ears really sensitive and now I can't play without earplugs
I bought a discovery pack of these on your recommendation and they have been an absolute lifesaver. I can actually sleep at night without waking up constantly throughout the night!
@@DAnn-wi7nm yes. It dampens sounds significantly but doesnt block everything out. But all the tiny noises in the house, or people moving around outside my room are blocked out. I still use them nightly.
I have a mental disorder called misophonia. It causes me to have EXTREME emotional reactions to certian sounds that I find annoying. All sounds made by people. Being in public sucks, but obviously I don't want to be a hermit. I've been on the hunt for good plugs that make it so I don't have to be anxious about being triggered in public. I've been blasting music in my ears for years in an attempt to overcome this, which has predictably led to tinnitus and slight hearing loss. I kept finding expensive plugs and I don't want to gamble $200 on plugs that might not work for me so I'd rather do ones like what you had recommended. I will check these out :) Also your snake is cool
Drummers are the greatest people to get earplug recs from I'm definitely gonna watch this Could be useful for marching season next year! (I'm in pit and I handle electronics, so I'm at the focal point of a lot of noise. and don't get me started on when we're in the stands. I'm either in front of snare drums or trumpets) EDIT: Etymotic makes some great earplugs. if you need stuff for similar use case (near the loud percussion, brass blasting in your ear), but still want to hear other people- their filtering ones are great.
If you need a good set of headphones, Senny HD25 ‘s have amazing passive isolation and crazy separation. Gotta be careful not to add to much mid into the mix, but they’re amazing
@@lightningbot85 I'm a Mello- at the start of this last season, I started off marching. in the stands, we were right in front of trumpets. I was in front of two 1st trumpets, and one of the stadiums had narrow stands. so, given the height difference, I had high notes blasted in my ears. not fun. and since I joined pit about 3 games in, I was then in front of 2 snares. they're LOUD.
@@noahs.627 Need? I'd say yes. Your ears are sensitive, and you can damage them much more easily than you think If you play a brass instrument- it takes some getting used to, but it actually made it easier for me to figure out my pitch in the stands. It feels WEIRD tho
you should try the decibullz ear plugs. you custom mold them yourself and they come in varying noise reduction ratings for different applications up to 32db reduction
Are you having trouble sleeping due to noise? Have you tried: -Sleeping harder? -Screaming to drown out the noise? -Holding your breath until you pass out? Hope this helps
being someone who has misshapen ear canals due to multiple ear infections as a child, this is nice to see that company thinks of a kit so I don't have to buy separate kits for my ears. My ears are totally different sizes and it's that companies are starting to give out multiple sizes for in ear stuff since my left ear canal is smaller than my right ear canal.
I work in manufacturing, I wore ear plugs for months until I couldn't handle it anymore. Doctor had to flush the wax out my ears like Dank described, and now anything being in my ears hurts the ear canal walls so bad; I couldn't even wear IEMs if I wanted to. So i've just been having to deal with earmuffs, which are so annoying with safety glasses and just don't block sound as well, especially low frequencies. So I should try these out, hopefully they work!
I've been working in manufacturing for four years now. I have hated when I have to wear ear plugs. I'm going to buy these to be able to test them out and see if they are better than the other options. I equally hate the foam ones, and the Christmas tree ones do hurt my ears after a while, and the building I currently work in, it is mandatory to have earplugs in. If I can find a better alternative to the company supplied ones, as a result of your video, you would be a lifesaver in my book! Thank you so much for making this video!
Gotta find the right ones for you and get used to them. I've been sleeping with foam earplugs every night for about 13 years now. Can't sleep without them. Never had a problem with earwax buildup either. It seems to come out with the earplugs.
One time I had a earplug in ear piece get inside my ear, you never realize how scary it is. I started getting disoriented, and you start having a crazy head ache as your ear starts to throb. I was panicking because I was struggling to find some tweezers to get it out. Yeah 0/10 don’t recommend the experience.
Dank I’ve just bought a turntable setup and HD 600’a because of your channel, you’ve made me discover a new hobby. Thank you so much and keep up your great work! I’m going to be coming a patron so I can binge watch your after shows !!
I really appreciate this video. I have Misophonia which means certain noises trigger a bad fight or flight response which as you can imagine is exhausting. I've never had luck finding sleep ear plugs (currently I use white noise but I cant use that everywhere) So thank you for this wonderful video
I love how this channel isn't just talking about audiophile stuff, and that you talk about ANYTHING that in your experience find interesting or important. I'm all for these videos about niche topics that most people don't really think about.
I dunno about that, protecting your ears from loud noises is just as important for an audiophile as listening to good noises. I'd say it's still right on brand.
I bought a portable otoscope (lil ear camera) with scraper attachments specifically to clean out my own ears. They’re surprisingly affordable, the one I got just connects to your phone for live video out AND recording. My ears had not been cleaned since I was a kid, and the amount of wax I got out was mind-blowing.
Recently I’ve got myself a pair of individual silicone ones. They come with audio filters (mine plugs are made for stuff like shooting, but there’s a load of different applications). Oh boy, it’s the best way for ear protection. They worth every dollar in my opinion
Thanks for the recommendation, ive been having trouble with my silicone/wax type ones lately. I will check this out. I was happy to see that they ship directly from within Germany.
I’ve moved rooms already in my dorm because my first roommate kept setting alarms at weird hours (4AM and 12AM) and now my new roommates like to laugh and talk until 2AM and keep me up. I can’t afford to move again. I need something that will work to wear while I sleep. Why do people have to be so inconsiderate to other peoples sleep? If these work to let me finally have one nights uninterrupted sleep I will praise your name sir
Super late but I've bought myself a pair of Happy Ears plugs and am willing to answer any questions people have about them. So far they're pretty great, have a break-in period where they become more comfortable but also more easily slip out and don't block out all noise but enough to remove any distractions. Also the large size just barely fits my ears and I've never thought I had especially large ear canals, so they definitely will not fit everyone.
@@RobertNotKeen tough at first since they're stiff out the box but not terrible later on. the stem goes at an angle into your ear so it smushes down when you lie down and the part that goes in when softer collapses really easily
hii, next to my house there's a construction place and my dad struggles with the noice at all. He doesnt want to hear any of the noice, but we want him to be able to conversate with us. Do you think they will work? Are they comfortable to sleep as well? Thank you in advance!
@@swamppotato_ depends on how loud the construction is. if it's around whisper level then the happy ears will cancel them out, but above that it will probably muffle it which will help, but not completely erase it. one thing to note is that he'll hear his heartbeat, breathing and other body noises if he wears the earplugs for long periods, which can be annoying too depending on the person. you will be able to talk since he can take out one of the plugs which is very easy with the happy ears. I sleep super well with them myself but they do fall out sometimes at night. it's annoying since they're hard to find after because they're so small. otherwise it's a great sleep aid, but they do need to be worn some beforehand to soften enough for sleep wear.
AMAZING! I've used Happy Ears for a couple of years myself, and got REALLY surprised seeing these on your channel. Nowadays they're seemingly IMPOSSIBLE to get a hold of, so last time I found a shop (in my country) retailing them I bought a ton of them!
I discovered the Loop earplugs last year and I've been pretty happy with them as well! Especially for sleeping, they're very comfy. I use the Quiet version which is said to reduce sounds by 27dB, they also look pretty good in ear when outside :) I don't know how I functioned before them, I guess I never realised just how noise sensitive I really was.
Same, though I got the plastic ones with removable insides (experience pros). I regretted not getting the silicone quiets though because I realised I could’ve slept in them and I don’t take out the insert anyway
@@nurhanturky yes. As someone who wears a headset at work it keeps loud high pitch noises to something bearable. (Listen to sirens through a high pitched speaker, it’s not fun)And that was with the cheap set so I’m sure the higher end ones will help you.
Foam plugs are the best, they are by far the cheapest, the most comfortable and the most efficient ones, no matter if you are on a bike, on a stage or just want to sleep in a hospital
This is so interesting, I ride dirt bikes, drum and drive a mower for work and I've never used plugs for all my life. So I should probably be take some of this to heart
I regularly use debrox to dissolve the excess earwax when I'm feeling muffled. I hate putting things in my ears, ear buds make my ears snotty and I worry about deafening myseld using them too often.
I can relate. I've received two pairs of earbuds because I hate the loudness of public transportation, but they also come with the clause that I can't use them elsewhere because, if I use them too much, I would gunk up my ears, requiring several rounds of debrox. I would rather have over-ears, but oh well--guess it's tinnitus in my right ear for me.
Deafening with earwax or with volume? ANC prevents the whole volume situation cause it makes your surroundings quieter making it so that you can listen to your music quieter.
Have you ever tried Loop Earplugs? They have some for -18db and -27db. There are ones where you can put in a filter ring so you can decide whether you wan to cut out more or less noise. I’ve been wearing them at work for 4-9 hours straight for the last year now and really like them.
Mate I've been getting woke up at all hours of the night due to crazy noises. I remembered you post this video so now I'm watching it for real world advice rather than memes.
Oh man, thank you... I have a condition in my ear that is extremely distracting and upsetting, and the doctors don't know what it is and don't bother to try and figure it out... I've just started covering my other ear every time it happens, but it really starts hurting after a little while. No earplugs I've tried are good enough or comfortable enough to use daily. This video title in my subscriptions made me super happy, I'll definitely try these
Find yourself a new doctor ASAP. They should not be ignoring symptoms like that! A good doctor admits when they don't know what is wrong, and then suggests / refers you to other doctors that can better help you. They shouldn't just be giving up. Source: had bad doctors dismiss symptoms because they didn't know what it was. Found an internalist DR who did his job very well and immediately knew some of what was wrong. For things he was unsure of, he made that clear to me and sent referrals to the appropriate specialists so they could diagnose those issues.
@@zebraloverbridget Seriously. I suffered daily migraines for years and horrifically bad allergies. Finally found a doctor that was willing to take my issues seriously and my health is so much better now. Migraines are far less frequent and my allergies are under control.
Yeah thank you, I will try to go see more doctors. The previous ones really just checked my ears, said that they don't know what's going on and sent me away... Comforting to know you guys are doing better now
I've been falling asleep with audiobooks for about 10 years now, and after a long time trying to find the right buds I've settled upon the soundmagic pl50's. The driver is really small and the body is tiny, flat and has rounded over edges. They are a little fragile, and the sound is anything to write home about but coupled with a pair of Shure memory foam tips they work an absolute treat. I always sleep on my side and have no sore ears or anything. I hardly notice em. The pl30 are pretty good aswell. Just a tiny bit chunkier

3:12 The same thing happened to me lolol. I had *so* much earwax in there the doctor was shocked. Mine was caused by having really tiny ear canals though, not because of earplugs. I had to walk home after and I felt high because everything sounded so ~crisp~ and my tympanic membrane felt so taut.
I turned my volume up before the video started, and that second of silence made me think it was muted, so I turned it up more. That was the loudest (ironically) I've ever heard the phrase "Ear plugs".
Pretty good information. I used to have noisy neighbours. None of the earplugs I had were terribly comfortable if I slept on my side. Fortunately, I found that my pillow did a good job, so I just popped the plug into the opposite ear. I always found that they weren't in my ears anymore, later in the night, but by then the neighbours had usually quieted down.
That little denim jeans pocket was originally used for pocket watches. Miners couldn't wear wrist watches because they'd break and fall off, so they started wearing jeans with a button on top to attach a pocket watch chain and a pocket to store it.
Speaking of super gross but kinda awesome earwax stories. I had a hard chunk of wax built-up in my ears that came out in the shape of my ear canal. I went from failing a hearing test to having better than normal hearing when they got it out lol.
I had a set of custom molded ear plugs for work that I started to sleep with and they were great but a bit uncomfortable. I tried out the happy Ears and they're fantastic. Honestly having the best sleeps I've had in a while, highly recommend them
I started wearing soft foam earplugs every night for the last 6+ years and now it's very hard to sleep without them. Even if it's quiet outside the noise from my fan can keep me up I'm too used to everything being muffled. Even being too uncomfortable to sleep if I don't have the feeling of plugs in my ears keeping the air out.
The ammount of ear plugs i find around the house because me and my dad both go shooting is surprising i think the most ive found is a bunch of like 10 or 12 in drawer and we still have like a couple hundred around the house waiting to be used
5:05 i work blue collar and I can personally confirm this. It doesnt "hurt" but it feels super uncomfortable when it happens and feels super damaging to your ear's inner workings if repeated
I can't tell you how thankful I am you made this video, man. I've been using earplugs for a while now at night and my ears have been aching and started actually getting dizzy, so I'm going to give the Happy Ears a go soon after I'm done with these silicone ones (also yes, long hair and pillow cases? really fun with them!)
Dankpods, I want to sincerely thank you. Thanks to you each time I hear someone say "nugget" I involuntarily prepare for the nugget arming procedure and start laughing uncontrollably. Best channel ever 10/10
Musician here - I got given a pair of these Happy Ears a few years ago when starting at the Royal Academy of Music in London as part of a hearing experiment. They seem great but none of them ever fit my ear properly as I don't have a usual ear shape so limited to foam/mouldable ones :(
The squishy malleable silicone putty ones get sticky again when you rinse them off with some water and hand soap. Pat them dry with your shirt, good to go. They start to fall apart eventually, but I get several months of nightly use out of one pair.
I live in a town right next to Logan airport in Boston. Planes come so close to the houses. Looks like you can throw a ball at them. I don’t even notice the noise from a plane any more. It’s crazy how you can adapt to almost anything over enough time.
I used to dj, and the hearing damage is very real. I work with powertools now and I religiously protect my ears. Dont be complacent about your ears people.
I used to have both custom ones (before they got expensive I've had like 4 pairs, sadly grew outta them) and the christmas tree ones for showering n swimming n stuff in the past haha! My ears are really shitty and I've had 9 surgeries on them, luckily I no longer need earplugs for that!

(Its called tempanoplastiek in dutch or smth) Then 2 years ago a joke went wrong and I got hit on my right ear, in such a way the air pressure ripped the eardrum in 2. Last year I had a rly long surgery to get that replaced too. Luckily it should all be fine now, it sounds way worse than it is haha!
I live with two snorers that I can hear through walls and I've been using sleepphones....except they have a four hour charge time. I can't tell you how many times I've forgotten to charge them until it's far too late. (Yay ADHD!) I would love to have a comfortable backup for the nights I forget.

@@pwnedyouwithpurple that’s understandable - I have a lot of daily repeating reminders in my Google account! But also like you say, if I don’t do it as soon as the reminder comes in, it could be hours or days before I actually do it 😅
So, with the Christmas trees.... I've always thought they are different sized earphone rubber bits This means that I would be getting some scissors and cutting each one (usually ditching the tiny bit) and swapping between each when I'd eventually lose it. I never knew what they were actually for until now because I never bothered to check the manual (I got them with some pairs of crappy earphones at my local gas station). The thing is though, the little hollow rubber in the middle of it all fitted perfectly around the earphone!!
Fun fact the small pockets in your jeans is for your pocket watch when jeans we’re made that put that in them and for some reason that never took it off
I wore earplugs at an indoor concert provided to me by my workplace at the time. Best decision I've ever made. Blocks out a lot of the noise without removing me from the experience entirely
I knew a drummer who borrowed my shooting ear pro over ears. Looked like he was wearing head phones and he loved them. He got the really nice ones that plug into things so you can hear talking but block out loud noises.
5:10 - no lie I once got a small rupture on my left eardrum by pulling one of those out when I was working at a hillclimb racetrack (race cars are MEGA loud, for those who've never experienced it), as I walked from the bottom of the track to the top it kinda created a small vaccum seal in my ear and the pressure differential when I finally ripped them out of my skull was enough to permanently damage my eardrum. Most painful thing I think I've ever experienced... I genuinely couldn't walk straight for a day because it messed my balance up so much, I have permanent tinnitus in my left ear and it's like super sensitive to loud noises because of the scar tissue. So yeah... Be careful when shoving things in your ear canals AND when taking them back out, kids.
dank, im begging you, please make a video on headphones or headsets that are comfortable for people with glasses. i just find mine being pushed into my ears and causing pain after a few hours
I work in a warehouse/factory So I'm always wearing the earplugs they provide, n they're great. Its a brand called skull screws. Its the squish kind except get this... you don't have to squish them!! they have a rigid bit of plastic in the center that lets you just cram them in. Now so long as you don't Q-tip them and push them in too far, they're really comfortable for hours at a time, and as for the pull -> *P O P* That hard plastic bit comes in handy, all you gotta do is grab the stem and give it a gentle twist and they glide out no problem. They do get dirty after a while but that's what's nice about a workplace providing them, they provide them for free and I stash them for that odd day when we run out so I'm always protected B)
Got some molded earplug from a past job, they are dedicated for heavy machinerie (cost around 200$). That mean that in front of a very loud machine, you can talk with your co-worker without raising your voice, that thing is amazing, I use them now for motocycle and it's perfect as it cancel the wind noise like nothing else I tried.
Hey Frank's Master, you could try the Loop Earplugs "Quiet", they cancel 27 dB, come in 5 sizes, in the same package, they don't go so deep in the ear and when laying down on a pillow or something I don't even feel them... and I've been wearing them every night for like 6 months now, it's beeen great. Bought them through Amazon btw.
The first and last video I will ever watch on earplugs. It says something special about your channel that you can get people completely uninterested in the topics to watch your videos. Whatever it is that makes a youtuber great, you have it Mr DankPods.
For sleep, I use foam ones with a wider base section, not the ones that taper like a cone. The ones that gradually get wider tend to squish in further and further as there's nothing to stop them. And I wash them though you're not supposed to. Bit of hand soap, mush them around, rinse. Press dry with some paper towel (takes about 4 firm presses on a dry bit)

@@debesys6306 task failed successfully
Yep, during normal times I attend a lot of concerts and gigs, and wearing earplugs almost always makes the music sound better. If the sound engineer is wearing ear plugs, the music always sounds better with earplugs.
I use the motorcycle ones shown in the vid. They are from Alpine. They work great, and the helmet coms sound better because of them. Music is clearer and less "raspy". Next season going for custom ones though.
I got some but they’re not that great. Bad damping “signature” so bass and treble comes through but mids really suck and I can’t hear vocals well.
I would go about getting a lawyer
Call an employment lawyer and enjoy your $10k+ severance and wrongful dismissal payments!
Get a decibel reading when barking is happening. If it's over like 70 you can complain and they have to provide ear protection
I feel like if safety is their concern they would require visual contact of each other. How are you gonna hear a cry for help over all the barking?
I don’t mean this in an offensive way or anything but reading I’ve tried to protect whah I have straight to now I work in aviation made me laugh

Tip for the Bose Sleep Buds: I got mine after watching your first video about them. In the first week, I had the same problem of pain from my ears. I always found that they weren't in my ears anymore, later in the night, but by then the neighbours had usually quieted down.
I just watched a 10 minute video on plastic to shove in my ears for silence. I'd watch this again. How is this man so entertaining
That little denim jeans pocket was originally used for pocket watches. Miners couldn't wear wrist watches because they'd break and fall off, so they started wearing jeans with a button on top to attach a pocket watch chain and a pocket to store it.
I was told the little denim jeans pocket was for iPod nanos, but this makes more sense. Can’t believe Steve Jobs lied to me.
Speaking of super gross but kinda awesome earwax stories. I had a hard chunk of wax built-up in my ears that came out in the shape of my ear canal. I went from failing a hearing test to having better than normal hearing when they got it out lol.
Did you turn them into a candal?
@@o.o9709 unexpected shrek moment
I had a set of custom molded ear plugs for work that I started to sleep with and they were great but a bit uncomfortable. I tried out the happy Ears and they're fantastic. Honestly having the best sleeps I've had in a while, highly recommend them
I started wearing soft foam earplugs every night for the last 6+ years and now it's very hard to sleep without them. Even if it's quiet outside the noise from my fan can keep me up I'm too used to everything being muffled. Even being too uncomfortable to sleep if I don't have the feeling of plugs in my ears keeping the air out.
The ammount of ear plugs i find around the house because me and my dad both go shooting is surprising i think the most ive found is a bunch of like 10 or 12 in drawer and we still have like a couple hundred around the house waiting to be used
thank you! im a drummer as well and need some, these all look very good, thanks for the recommendations :)
Now we just need dankpods Earplugs as merch
nice that your on floatplane
5:05 i work blue collar and I can personally confirm this. It doesnt "hurt" but it feels super uncomfortable when it happens and feels super damaging to your ear's inner workings if repeated
I can't tell you how thankful I am you made this video, man. I've been using earplugs for a while now at night and my ears have been aching and started actually getting dizzy, so I'm going to give the Happy Ears a go soon after I'm done with these silicone ones (also yes, long hair and pillow cases? really fun with them!)
Did you get them? How are they?
Can these stop the noises in my head though?

"I've been trying so many different plugs."
....
That's one way to put it.
That moment you were born with chronic tinnitus and will never know what silence "sounds" like.
I've discovered Happy Ears myself a while ago, they're the only ones that don't make my ears scream in pain after only a few nights.
I used to have both custom ones (before they got expensive I've had like 4 pairs, sadly grew outta them) and the christmas tree ones for showering n swimming n stuff in the past haha! My ears are really shitty and I've had 9 surgeries on them, luckily I no longer need earplugs for that!
why 9 surgeries
@@_monti142 for a big part I have no Idea. Always had weak/weird eardrums (my right apparently used to look similar to a deflated balloon).
For years my left eardrum had a hole in it which they tried to plug up. 7 years ago they made a new eardrum for my left ear. (Its called tempanoplastiek in dutch or smth)
Then 2 years ago a joke went wrong and I got hit on my right ear, in such a way the air pressure ripped the eardrum in 2.
I hate when people say “so just plug them in when you wake up”, like, what did you think I forgot to do?!? >.> I’ve developed a bit of an anger response to “(so) just” being used to start a sentence
@@kaitlyn__L I’ve had a little more success by setting an alarm to remind myself to do it in the evening when I can just stop and do it, rather than trying to remember it first thing in the morning…but even then I still forget quite often anyway.
@@pwnedyouwithpurple that’s understandable - I have a lot of daily repeating reminders in my Google account! But also like you say, if I don’t do it as soon as the reminder comes in, it could be hours or days before I actually do it 😅
So, with the Christmas trees....
I've always thought they are different sized earphone rubber bits
This means that I would be getting some scissors and cutting each one (usually ditching the tiny bit) and swapping between each when I'd eventually lose it.
When I see dank upload, CLICK FASST
4:17 if planes are taxiing through your house you should have bigger concerns than noise
Scarlett Fire earplugs version incoming
I knew a drummer who borrowed my shooting ear pro over ears. Looked like he was wearing head phones and he loved them. He got the really nice ones that plug into things so you can hear talking but block out loud noises.
Dank is the only guy who can make a 3 minute video turn into a 10 minute video and STILL make it entertaining to watch.
one time the little silicon thing on my earphones came off and got stuck in my ear, scariest thing I've ever experienced
I'm pretty sure I've had several contact lenses behind my eyes for years. One time one just appeared.
I don’t wear glasses but sounds like an interesting video🧐
9:18 "Ohhhu my duckcell..."
8:12 ough my pkcell
