Thank you for the informative video. I have been using the A-10 for about a year. They did a good job except for the battery life like you said, only 6 to 7 hours. The only drawback with these new ones is that there’s only four preset wake up alarm sounds. In my opinion, they are all too soothing. The A10’s had a beeping sound that gradually got louder, which I liked. Is there any other sounds? Can I download more sounds?
The rain sounds on Soundcore A10 earbuds have been helping me sleep for about the last 3 years. Even though one side has always been quieter than the other (apparently a problem when using with Apple products according to the manufacturer) & the fact that they time out after about 7 hours, they still work great for me. I may give the A20 a go as they seem to have some good improvements. Great reviews, thanks!
I've has mine for 4 months now and I'm still using them every night. Two of the downsides you didn't mention are (1) they are clumsy to place properly in the case to recharge in the dark. I know I have to flip them vertically but to get them to seat is still a challenge after 4 months. (2) they won't pair multiple devices like my airpods do. Every time I want to switch between using them with my iPad and iPhone I have to re-pair them. These two issues are nuisances, but they still are comfortable enough that I use them every night.
I have the A10 version. They do nothing at all to help you sleep. However I EQ them with the wavelet app and you would not believe how warm and bassy they sound. With the tiny form factor and the surprisingly good sound I find myself listening to them on most days. And just so you know my standards, I listen to Sony WH1000 XM5's and various IEM's. Don't knock the sound quality on A10's or 20's until you EQ them, you might be surprised!
I purchased the A20 sleep buds and haven’t had good luck with them. I have tried all of the inserts in various combinations to get the right fit, but no combination seems to work. I am also finding that even when using the breathable tips, my inner ears get super itchy. The volume at 100% in sleep mode also is very low, even when my phone’s volume is at max. I used to use the Bose sleep buds and loved them, but one of the buds died and I can’t get product support because Bose discontinued them☹️.
These have been my favorite earbuds in a long time. The fit options as well as how low the volume goes have been great on nights I have trouble falling asleep. I actually got them original for fitment under a motorcycle helmet as a substitute for foam ear plugs and for music. The sound pass through is plenty for hearing the environment while riding in traffic. I didn't need a more expensive comm system and the bonus was wearing them for sleep. Hope this helps someone else make a more informed purchase decision!
I have been using the Buds Live since 2020, replaced the left one a month ago and probably the right side soon as well (via eBay or FB Market, cheap) and they have been the best for sound, comfort and noise cancellation for me (side sleeper)!!
@@MikeOBrienMedia I just hate the feeling of jamming the gel tips in my ear when sleeping. I tried that before and I wake up from pain. The Buds Live solved all of that, best comfort for me. Now, I would only buy something similar to it.
Just wanna say I saw your best headphones comparison video and I'm so thankful for quality of your videos! I know it gets tiring after many years of such contents but I was blown away by the standard of quality you set for yourself. Hope you get your 1mil subs soon
I’ve used regular wireless earbuds with ANC for years. I kept my old Jabra earbuds because they turn off when the audio stops but still provide sufficient passive noise reduction.
Pretty sure they have sleep detection. I watch Netflix reruns on my iPad and they stop at random spots when I've fallen asleep and switched to sleep mode. Doubt I wouldn't hear alarms, they aren't that great but just good. The inbuilt alarm is quite good however.
He botched that feature. They definitely detect when you fall asleep and then switch modes. And he didn't mention all of the sounds you can choose from and even combine.
I did exactly the same switch. I had 3 pairs of bose sleepbuds 2 (they replaced it twice before the guarantee expired) and my last pair lasted 6 months, while the other 2 lasted longer. They still work, but one of the earbud shuts off after 4 hours, which wakes me up (i play the sound the whole night because interruption of the sound wakes me up). Anyway, I found the soundcore but I don'thave the same model as you, I have the previous one I think, and I like them but 1/ they don't last the whole night if you have them in your ears for more than 8 hours (i wake up a lot and thus sleep for a longer period of time) 2/ the smallest bud is too tiny, the one above too big (i use the regular size), so my ears hurt. I still use the bose, I switch buds when I wake up around 4/5 am to finish the night. It helps reduce the pain in my ears. I might give a try to this model though, looks slimmer!
hi i have them, I bought them to sleep because any noise can wake me up, I now use them for music during the day, the don't work for sleep like imagine you have to sleep with volume max brown noise to mask eventual noise, no way, earbuds loop are making the job 50 times better, they are 20 Euro
@@KvltKommando I assume they meant Loop Earplugs. I own a pair of Loop Quiets, which definitely help which noise. For me personally this isn't always enough for a good night sleep though, since it just blocks noise (they're regular earplugs, unlike earbuds that can send white noise). They do also sell the Quiet 2 Plus, which blocks more sound and recently released the Loop Dream, specifically made for sleep. They do cost more though: 45 euros. Hope this helps!
I always get to see very informative content here. Loved these headsets. Specially because they’re not just for sleep but can also do basic bluetooth streaming. How do you compare the sound quality though. As good as the original AirPods atleast?
I use the Kokoon nightbuds. They do not have ANC and do nothing for snoring but have a nice feature that they turn off the sound when they detect that you are asleep. This is nice when it works (not reliable) to stop a story. The sound quality is nowhere near the AirPod but way more comfortable.
I have a father that snore, I use earplugs and is just fine. I known of a person who used to sleep with the tv on and low volume. People who are looking for good sleep choices just find the way. I propose everyone try what's suit them best.
I sleep with soundcore space A40, it is comfortable & small enough for side sleeper like me and it have ANC, the only negative is that you need your phone on
I find the "battery low" voice/sound when they are low on power can wake me up and given that the battery life has gone down a lot in the year and a half I've had them, I can't really use them for a full night's sleep. Comfort-wise though I agree they are very adequate.
I just got them and slept my 1st night. I don't mind no active noise cancelation as you want to be able to hear a smoke detector or anything unusual going on in your house. I'm a father of 4 and can't be completely dead to the world when i sleep. I did wake up and delt a bit of discomfort. I took them out and had to rub my ear canal and then they were good. Overall i felt like i sleet better. The calibration porcess is horrible and failed several times so i gave up for now
I've been sleeping with cheap wired earbuds for years, figured I should step it up to these, they arrived today. I have Sennheiser Momentum 3 headphones as my daily driver so the sound quality of these Soundcore A20s doesn't matter much, I'm sure when compared to the cheap earbuds I used to sleep with they'd still be a big improvement.
@@OsheekuruThey serve their purpose, not having to deal with wires when sleeping is nice. They fall out once in a while but the app helps you locate them easily. The app showing you how long your sleep was and what side you slept on is interesting too, not sure how accurate it is though.
I tried these and took them back. Not comfortable enough for when I sleep on my side. But I have found the product that works for me!! A sleep headband with built in flat Bluetooth speakers. They're called Sleephones. My wife snores and it's made it so I never have to go into the guest room to sleep. They last all night and most of all super comfortable. I can't recommend them enough. If anyone has any questions about them feel free to ask.
@@PatriotsComing I'm a fat guy that hates to be hot I have no problem wearing them when it comes to heat. Actually I pull them down and cover my eyes. I use anapp that plays white noise (I like airplane noise). Helps block the morning sun when I cover my eyes. They easily lay all night. I've had them playing for 11 hours. The speakers and controller can be removed to wash the headband. I wear mine every single night and take it with me on vacations. It's great
Received mine yesterday, tried them last night, they stayed in all night which was good. Will give them a few more tests before I decide how good they are 👌
I had high hopes for these but unfortunately they don't get a high grade for my needs. They do not block any sound when off, if you're not playing music or sounds then they're useless. When playing music on the sleepbuds I find the lowest volume setting still too loud aka the change in tempo of the music wakes me up. A pair Loops do a much better job of blocking out noise and are much more comfortable and 1/3 of the price. Buy these if you need sounds to sleep but not to block out sounds like someone snoring or street noise.
i have a very specific question - I have ermergency service from time to time - i get notified via an app. can you set an app, that is connecting even in sleep mode - like an alarm,?
Interesting review! Not sure I missed this in your video but I'd like to know if while being in the sleep mode, can you listen to any other track besides those in the app? E.g. listening to ASMR, or some other sleep tracks from Spotify? Thank you!
6:30 Don't the A20 have Intelligent Volume Control? My A10 did and I've seen on the app that the A20 support them as well. I haven't tried it with the A20 yet, but it worked just fine with the A20 in lowering the volume based on external noise. The buds do have to be connected to the phone, as the phone mic is used to detect noise levels.
Does the constant direct masking damage hearing or agitate tinnitus? If you have tinnitus the ringing gets louder once most direct ear masking is removed. Feedback on that subject would be great.
I bought these on a whim after my Bose II died. Babyyyy these are significantly cheaper and they feel much much better. These are so soft and silky I almost forget their in!!
These work 4 naps, but if using Bluetooth one of the buds will be less than 5.5 hrs. Varries from pair to pair, but one of them that receives signal will drain significantly faster. I think they're very poor quality, losing connection often.. when my Bose II die, I'll be buying some Ozlos
I have the R50i NC (P30) that I sometimes use for sleep when I can't really sleep and need the white noise, but they hurt when you're a side sleeper. Seeing this review is great! (Yay, sleepbuds!) Quite convincing review too, but he never mentioned the price. So, I had to look them up and saw they're about 200USD converted 😂 nope
Have you compared the noise isolation with the A10s? These are supposed to be better tbh I'm finding it worse than than the A10s. Although, I've had the A10s a while so I'm used to the best way to fit them into my ears, and also the A10s have slightly more to get hold of to accomplish that.
Do you know ifyou can combine the ambient sounds with other audio playback? I have to sleep with a white noise machine to mask outside sounds, and then i play a podcast on my phone to fall asleep to. It would be amazing if i could combine all of that in one set of earbuds!
I don't think it has that feature unfortunately. Hopefully the passive noise isolation is good enough to mask both sounds while playing music/podcasts alone.
You just weren't fair to these earbuds. Their the absolute best. Soundcore hit it out of the park. My "Bluetooth" ocean sounds coupled with Samsung equalizer are fantastic. My Bluetooth music has excellent base. They get a 10 on a scale of 1 to 5!!!! ❤
You guys wear earbuds to sleep? That is crazy. The most I did was cutting 2/3 of the safety disposable earplug and put it my ear. Get the 3M brand, it is so soft, so comfortable, it like memory foam that adapt to your ear canal shape, and dirt cheap. 1000 times better than sticking a earbuds into your ear all night long.
I have tried several different options. I haven’t used these, but do have A40s. The best I’ve found so far are Sony WI-C100 earbuds, closely followed by the Beats Flex.
I’m currently falling asleep with some old Jabras. After a podcast ends they automatically shut off after 15 minutes. Do these sleep buds do something similar?
these ear buds will give you chronic ear wax blockages. you need over ears and even then you will get excessive ear wax. if you have hereditary wet ear wax, you should never sleep with anything obsructing your ears. if you put them in right after a shower before bed you will get an ear infection. i dont know how or why these things are advertised to sleep in, they are not healthy for your ears.
Good points for folks who make a lot of earwax. I've been sleeping with earbuds for years and have never had an ear infection. I would guess that if wax is a problem to use the tips with the holes to allow airflow.
I owe you an apology. Soundcore didn't kick the ball out of the park. Yes, rhe sound is good on these A20's but 14 hours on a charge is a joke. Mine have done 8 in the right ear and 9 in the left .That difference was also in their advertising for the A10's. (Promise 7, got 5) Yes, 8 hours should really be enough. It's just the boasting of 14 hours that really irks me. Their probably going to be returned just because I can't trust their battery to produce consistent hours. Bummer cause I was so excited. 😭💥
They boasted 9 hours of battery life for soundcore liberty 4nc which is my reason for purchasing then it last like 31/2 or 4 hour at most. When I look at their site again and subreddit the advertised number is behind a number of asterisk which is impossible to be reached. never buying Anker again
Do the ear tips have a mesh cover to prevent dirt from entering the earpiece? That was the biggest issue with the a10. I still use the everyday but need to clean them every week otherwise the sound gets completely blocked. A know issue with them ...
Kokoon is the only one that work... not that others are bad, but difference is huge... anc is not needed for any of these, it is like wireless charging, waste
I tried them for a week but hated them. WHY is the sound on power-up and mode switch so LOUD? Also, the touch controls didn’t always work. Lastly, I’m spoiled by AirPods controls and iPhone compatibility.
The best and cheapest solution is to buy a simple fan and just use it 😂 I have loud neighbors and the fan just provides white noise while eliminating sounds outside my room
Still tiny bit confused-can you set them to switch to silent at some point in the night? Did you say you can just set it to switch off after a few hours? Can it be minutes? My issue with this type of thing has always been the sounds relaxing me but not letting me actually fall deeply asleep. Hmm.
If you're listening to music you can set it to turn that off and switch over to sleep mode when you fall asleep. Then it will play whatever sounds you have loaded. You set that to turn off after a certain time - shortest is 30 minutes.
If they had anc I d buy them right now . I have the the new galaxy buds which are really small have decent amc but constantly fall out during the middle of the night. But I love soundcore buds I have all 3 pro editions since them came out . I need to get the 4's tho ..
Do they have ocean wave like the Bose had a board walk. That the only one I could used and my left sleep pod broke it charges but no sound come out anymore
Not even remotely necessary when you’re listening to such consistent sounds like rain or white noise. I use some cheap $5 Buds Live a-likes (only way flatter) I got from China and they completely block out the warthog level snoring and chronic coughing of my roommate, and they don’t even have the extra innate noise dampening effects of having silicon tips plugging up your ear canals since they don’t have any.
The A20s sound good and the battery life is ridiculous, but they don't stay in my ears over night. It's annoying when I feel the earbud slip out. I also have the Ozlo sleepbuds (technically the Bose Sleep Buds 3). They are more expensive, but they fit much better when I sleep. They are flatter than the A20s. The drawback to Ozlo is the software, functionality and stability. I'm not sure what is going on, but the sound tends to cut out when I use them listening to media. It hasn't happened when I sleep with them on. Also, the case and buds seem to lose battery life or power when I'm not using them. I'm still trying to determine what is going on. I use them overnight. The next day when I come back from work, they are seemingly dead and I have to reconnect them. The sound quality is okay, but it's not as good as the A20s and there is no equalizer to change the sound setting. I'm definitely leaning towards the Ozlo's for the fit. I just need them to be more stable and I'm too lazy to contact the company.

"Nothing"? 🤔
I tried sleeping with Airpods Pro 2. Luckily it is comfortable enough as long as you’re using a soft pillow specially for a side sleeper like me.
I mostly listen to podcasts and audio books so I wonder if I'd even notice the lower quality sound
Nice Henry Ford reference. “You can have the model-T in any color you want, as long as it’s black”
Very interesting use case for the buds live! Thanks for sharing. I'll try that sometime
@@MikeOBrienMedia I just hate the feeling of jamming the gel tips in my ear when sleeping. I tried that before and I wake up from pain. The Buds Live solved all of that, best comfort for me. Now, I would only buy something similar to it.
Agreed. 👍
Great review Mike! I would love to see your comparison to the new Ozlo sleep buds , which was the from the old Bose sleep buds team
They are also great at reducing wind noise for motorcyclists.
Ear buds loop???
@@KvltKommando I assume they meant Loop Earplugs. I own a pair of Loop Quiets, which definitely help which noise. For me personally this isn't always enough for a good night sleep though, since it just blocks noise (they're regular earplugs, unlike earbuds that can send white noise). They do also sell the Quiet 2 Plus, which blocks more sound and recently released the Loop Dream, specifically made for sleep. They do cost more though: 45 euros.
Hope this helps!
Comply sells some foam tips that are compatible with the soundcore a20, you could combine the white noise + the foam to get the best of both worlds

My neighbor is harassing me and I need sleep. I walk around with nosie cancelling headphones.
Great review! How do they feel on your ears after long hours?I want to purchase these but dont know whether it is comfortable
Hi, did you get these and if so, how are they working out for you?
Those look like they’d be hot to wear? I must stay cool in order to sleep. Are they washable? I can imagine them soaking up my sweat.
@@PatriotsComing
I'm a fat guy that hates to be hot I have no problem wearing them when it comes to heat.
It's great
@@Matt-fd9hc Thank you! These A20s have worked very well for me but I'm always looking around for other solutions.
Thanks for the lead! I found some cheap version for $4 from China with allegedly 10hrs of battery life.
@@bawla
Hopefully you get something decent for that price. Hopefully it's not the saying "you get what you pay for "
The Oslo ear buds are made by the Bose team, pretty good
My Bose sleep buds 2 finally gave out. Hoping that these give me a similar experience
Received mine yesterday, tried them last night, they stayed in all night which was good. Will give them a few more tests before I decide how good they are 👌
How are they??
Yeah, how are they?
I live in a loud area too. I sleep with an old pair of galaxy buds.
On your side or on your back? I used to sleep with Galaxy buds as well but it was never comfortable on my side
@@MikeOBrienMedia I sleep with one earbud. So I change the sides as I turn.
No
Interesting review! Not sure I missed this in your video but I'd like to know if while being in the sleep mode, can you listen to any other track besides those in the app? E.g. listening to ASMR, or some other sleep tracks from Spotify? Thank you!
Yes he says in the video you can listen to anything through Bluetooth including ASMR 😀
Why would these not work in a plane for sleeping? Normal earbuds are too big and can fall out
6:30 Don't the A20 have Intelligent Volume Control?
I’ve slept with AirPods for years! Loud ass rain
Ass rain.. is that diarrhea
I thought about buying them Thanks for the review 🙂
Thanks for watching!
Could you elaborate on what you meant when you said using these helps you wake up more naturally?
Do you know ifyou can combine the ambient sounds with other audio playback? I have to sleep with a white noise machine to mask outside sounds, and then i play a podcast on my phone to fall asleep to. It would be amazing if i could combine all of that in one set of earbuds!
I don't think it has that feature unfortunately. Hopefully the passive noise isolation is good enough to mask both sounds while playing music/podcasts alone.
I set mine to listen to audiobook for an hour and then the smart switch turns on brown noise for the rest of the time.
Est-ce qui'ils ne s'enfoncent pas dans le conduit auditif et peuvent-ils agir sans musique en mode passif pour stopper le bruit extérieur ?
what about max decibel levels? is the max volume on sleep mode safe for our ears? thanks!
Can you try it to play asmr ? Hows the rumble for ear tingle ?
You just weren't fair to these earbuds. Their the absolute best. Soundcore hit it out of the park. My "Bluetooth" ocean sounds coupled with Samsung equalizer are fantastic. My Bluetooth music has excellent base. They get a 10 on a scale of 1 to 5!!!! ❤
Wow. It's they're* and bass*. Get educated.
Do you use it for ASMR ? hows the rumble for ear tingle ?
I use ear plugs, same purpose. There’s different types that block out certain Db amounts well at least where I get mine.
Can I also use them for my daily things like listening to musing and all that?
You guys wear earbuds to sleep? That is crazy. The most I did was cutting 2/3 of the safety disposable earplug and put it my ear. Get the 3M brand, it is so soft, so comfortable, it like memory foam that adapt to your ear canal shape, and dirt cheap. 1000 times better than sticking a earbuds into your ear all night long.
That sounds really budget friendly but how do you wake up to an alarm?
@@donaldjuan4934 And?

Thanks for the great review, I'm going to buy one for sure
I only want one as well. Do you want to split a pair?
Would have been nice if you compare them to the A10
I have tried several different options. I haven’t used these, but do have A40s. The best I’ve found so far are Sony WI-C100 earbuds, closely followed by the Beats Flex.
These are waaaay different than the A40. So much more comfortable for side sleeping.
@@PatriotsComing lie
I’m currently falling asleep with some old Jabras. After a podcast ends they automatically shut off after 15 minutes. Do these sleep buds do something similar?
still not sure if this is for me- but thanks mike. just curious are you wearing a smart ring?
Yes, I've been testing the Ultrahuman ring again. I wore it for a while last year and I'm working on a new video with it now
these ear buds will give you chronic ear wax blockages. you need over ears and even then you will get excessive ear wax. if you have hereditary wet ear wax, you should never sleep with anything obsructing your ears. if you put them in right after a shower before bed you will get an ear infection. i dont know how or why these things are advertised to sleep in, they are not healthy for your ears.
People listen to music on max volume all the time, they don’t care about their ears at all
Good points for folks who make a lot of earwax. I've been sleeping with earbuds for years and have never had an ear infection. I would guess that if wax is a problem to use the tips with the holes to allow airflow.
I've been sleeping with earplugs for 15 years. Never had an issue.
Not that hard to keep your ears clean. If your that worried about they sell water cleaners that do an excellent job that can be used daily.
never had an issue either - doing this for years
Just clean your ear as you should do aynway
Interesting. These have always caught my eye.
How you alive if they caught you everytime
Instant buy. Thanks for the review!!
I hope you enjoy them!
@@MikeOBrienMedia so far so good, I get to sleep so much quicker now
@@mitchimusprime4613 still good?
it really help me a lot, thanks to the great A20...
A know issue with them ...
timestamp 2:45 answers your question
Kokoon is the only one that work... not that others are bad, but difference is huge... anc is not needed for any of these, it is like wireless charging, waste
I tried them for a week but hated them. WHY is the sound on power-up and mode switch so LOUD? Also, the touch controls didn’t always work. Lastly, I’m spoiled by AirPods controls and iPhone compatibility.
I did try these , but prefer the kokoon sleep headphone , much thinner profile
great on plane?
I want one! I always sleep faster whenever I'm listening to music using earphones.
Why is the case so massive, and why are the 150 bucks?
Soundcore is not Bose
You didn’t say what the alarm feature is, you just said it’s better than a phone alarm.
I got a cheap sleep headband with earphones from Amazon. Works great for $20
The best and cheapest solution is to buy a simple fan and just use it 😂
I have loud neighbors and the fan just provides white noise while eliminating sounds outside my room
Only thing that helps for me is customised/moulded silicone sleep plugs from an audiologiat.
I'm a back sleeper, so i use status 3anc, app2, jlab epic lab or iems.
Do they have ocean wave like the Bose had a board walk. That the only one I could used and my left sleep pod broke it charges but no sound come out anymore
I've sent mine back as the volume is too low for music and audible plus the sound quality is poor for the price.
I’m a fan of the QuietOn 3’s, as a very light sleeper, they saved my life. I need total dead silence.
I have the quiet on too. The right bud no longer charges. Went to get a new one under warranty and they are now out of business
@@michaelpeck5685 oh no! Darn, I should have bought a backup set while they were still around :(
Great job, thanks!
great video, thanks a lot
At this point I'm just gonna invent open earbuds with slim profile for PARENTS with babies out there. Ngl there are absolutely none in the market!
Wait, so no ANC? So it does not do anything to reduce low frequency sounds like from snoring? I don't see the point of these.
Even decent ANC will not block a snoring partners sound. It just muffles.
Sounds amazing. I want ear thing that when I sleeo i can't feel a thing in my ear
ok i only have one question - i have a car that wakes me up every morning at 6 am. Its muffler is loud. Would these earbuds help me block them out ?
no
The A20s sound good and the battery life is ridiculous, but they don't stay in my ears over night.
