Thanks so much for this video. I have the exact same fridge. The fan was making a lot of noise, and there were some other noises too. I removed the panel, exposing the evaporator coil, and let it sit for a couple of hours unplugged with the freezer door open. It worked like a charm. Everything's a lot quieter now. Thanks again!
I started doing hvac when I was 17, started watching some of ur vids to help me to become better. You're doing a great job. I'm 18 now, you've helped me to grow in knowledge so much. God bless
That's awesome! You have a nice head start. Thank you and it's nice to hear that the videos have been helpful for you, God bless you and yours as well!
I have this same fridge and it’s been annoying me for weeks. The popping, pinging and knocking noises were so bad I couldn’t concentrate. I came across this video and you have saved my sanity. Now, it’s quiet in my kitchen and I don’t hear my fridge in my bedroom anymore. THANK YOU!!!!!!
Thank you Sir you save my night. I could not sleep because of the noise and I am worried that I need to buy a new fridge. You are the best teacher. Thank a million! 🙏
It's amazing how true that old saying is: 'you learn something new every day.' Thanks to the ice build-up in the freezer and that little piece of information about Cayenne pepper, I learnt 2 things. Incredible. Thank you very much.
Really appreciate that you made this video. Even after 2 years from your video. Had this issue with my refrigerator today. Saw your video today. Used a hair dryer to warm up the fan area and noise is gone. Thank you for your awesome advice. Saved me a lot of hassle of getting someone to come over and fix this issue. Bless you brother
Solved my problem!! Thanks so much! I unplugged it then used a heat gun, emptied the ice tray and used a clean towel to soak up water and wipe everything down. It took about 15-20 minutes total. From emptying most of the freezer, defrosting ice maker and emptying some trapped cubes, then putting some things back. I have a side by side Frigidaire. This video saved me from having to call Lowes!
Great video!!!!!! Fixed my humming noise almost immediately!!!!! I left my refrigerator plugged in, cleaned everything out, noticed the ice built up inside, and simply left the freezer door open.. once the ice began to thaw a bit (3 minutes later), the noise went away, and I was able to readjust the temperature gage to the *recommended* setting. It had been pushed to the coolest temp by the overcrowding of the freezer as mentioned. Thanks again!!
Wow what a coincidence. Started getting this loud noise from the refrigerator and I find it's the exact same fridge and noise as in this video. Thanks for the very clear instructional video.
Thank God. I thought my 2 year old Fridge was screwed up. Turns out that was exactly what was happening. It’s a bottom freezer. And guess what… I had it packed full lol. Thank You for all your videos!!! Subscribed!!
Thank you so so much! Woke up at 4am to this horrible, super loud noise from the freezer. It's only 2 years old, and was worried I'd be forking out a lot of money to fix it. The hairdryer worked a treat, didn't even have to take the parts out. Can't thank you enough
Omg thank you! It worked on my fridge. We just recently got a new fridge and I went overboard buying ice cream and stuffed it all in the freezer. And then it started making a loud noise, bump into this video and I did the hair blow dryer method, ice melted and minutes and the fridge sounded normal again. Now I can enjoy my ice cream!!! 😋😋😋
Dude youre a savior! instead of changing out some parts, you helped me identified the true cause of my fridge's noise as well! My dad over-stuffing..... made space, opened the door for several minutes, lowered the temperature temporarily, and BAM, back to normal like magic, lesson learned, thank you so much sir, may God bless you
I watched a few videos, but this one had the answer. Never worked on a fridge before, but this was a straightforward fix after watching this video. Saved me ££ on calling out someone. Thank you so much!!!
Thank you very much. I had the same problem and just fixed my fridge after watching your video. I was just about to call a mechanic. I'm lucky that I watched your video first and fixed the problem. Thank you again.
OMG, you just saved my sanity! The humming on my fridge was driving me absolutely crazy!!!! I was having trouble unplugging it, so I just tried emptying it and blow drying it for a bit because I was desperate for any improvement. It’s a miracle that monster is finally quiet!!! I was ready to buy a new fridge lol
Thank you so much, your video saved me from going insane. I thought the motor or something in my fridge was broken and I was thinking to myself, why is this happening after having this fridge for a few years. Glad you explained how overstuffing the freezer can cause poor circulation and such. Triple thumbs up to you hero!
This just helped me big time as of today thats when I discovered the loud buzzing sound in my refrigerator, it turns out everything including the vents on the freezer and fridge were frozen and that defrosting trick really solved it for my fridge. I gave it a few minutes before plugging it back in. Thank you sir 🙏 ☺ didn't cost me a dime. Now its back to its quiet self again 🤗 a huge thank you to you good sir
Thank you so much for this video! It worked!!! All I did was throw out some frozen foods and left the top trays empty as well as the side. Left the freezer door open for about 10-15 mins and it worked! Appreciate you. Liked and subscribed!
The noise my fridge was making was super loud...I could hear it over my TV with the volume completely up...I did option #2 I put on a big sweater because I was going to be in front of the freezer for over 15 mins... I turned off the switch on the power box figured that would be safest and used my hair dryer on high heat for 15 mins....there was a huge puddle in the freezer about two inches tall so I'm glad he said something about a towel. After I turned the switch back on the noise was gone...I got to clean and reorganize my whole freezer So happy I actually get to sleep tonight.... Thank you so much!
The Hairdryer trick worked for me!!! Didnt uplug the fridge , just turned the setting inside fridge all the way off, so it stopped the fan from spinning. Emptied my freezer only, and used the hairdryer for about 10 minutes, thats all it took. do it just like the video says, it works. no need to defrost a whole day. its been a week now and no problems or loud fan noise.
I am so grateful. I was about to buy a new refrigerator. The noise was so annoying that I thought that the compressor was broken. I just took Eve from the fridge (yes, it was packed 🤦🏼♀️), used the hair dryer for about 15 minutes and leave the fridge desconected for couple of hours. Voila 🙏🏻 Thank you 😊
Jay, your video was easy to follow. Glad to learn new steps. Our loud noise was plugged drain from the freezer drip making a solid ice block in the refrigerator side. This caused ice to form at the bottom of the freezer side. So far 2 day of No crushing noises after midnight!
Jay, your videos are always full of great information. I always tell my wife not over stuff the freezer. If people followed some simple steps they would save hundreds of dollars in repairs. Thanks 👍🇺🇸
Thank you so much for your advice, the noise my fridge started making was annoying, as soon as I took everything out of the fridge the noise stopped! Thanks you saved me a lot of headaches and having to call maintenance!
Man u save my life😮. I only watched u vifor 1 minutes and 14sec, I Saw u Pointed out tha main problem. U don't want a full Freezer. Man I moved stuff around made my freezer Look like yours. Half Full Circlation. FIXED, THANK U MAN😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮 I HAD TO FOLLOW U😊❤
You are amazing! My girlfriend accidentally didn't close the fridge all the way so it was overworking itself and froze over. About 5 minutes using the hairdryer and everything was fine!
This was very helpful. I cleared the 3 vent areas in my freezer and unplugged it for about 5 minutes. I used my blowdryer on high moving it side to side and it cleared the ice. I cleaned out the little melted ice water and plugged the freezer back in. It cleared the noise.
This video worked! I heard some kind of soft tapping sound in my freezer and the fan wasn't turning on, so I emptied it and put a bowl of boiling hot water in the freezer by the ice covered coils and looked up solutions to the noise problem. Sure enough, while watching this video hoping to find the solution to this problem i heard the fan turn back on and the freezer running.
where did you help me out I had a real loud refrigerator and I did exactly what you said and sure enough it work thank you this is why RUclips is so good and I love it does a guys like you and help guys like me out thanks
This video was super helpful - thank you! I was able to unscrew the covering for the fan without taking anything out. Took about 10 minutes. I first tried with a heat gun without unscrewing because I wasn't at the point in the video where you warned against it. But I noticed a bit of bending in the plastic and stopped, then proceeded to unscrew the cover. My problem is solved now thanks you your video. Much appreciated 🙏
Have to say thank you for saving my day!! Can't live with this huge noise and the renter company just won't come to help immediately... may headache went away!
Thank you so much!!! I thought I was going to have to either ring a handyman or buy a new fridge! I just took everything out, and took off the back panel (easy, there were no screws) and chipped off a bit of ice. The fan started working normally after a minute of doing this, and I just put everything back and it is sooo quiet now! The reason the problem started is because I stuffed my freezer last night. Again, thank you!!! :)
Thank you parents are away and out of the house right now and my fridge started making that noise and I was confused on why it was so loud and not stopping. Thank you
Thanks a lot mate did the 2nd method/option which was the quickest and fixed the issue now the sound is calming down just like new you're the best mate.
I have less stuff in my freezer now and I made sure the vents aren't blocked. I turned my refrigerator off for about 2 hours. That was enough to stop the noise. If needed I'll do 24 hours later. Thanks!
Your model is same as mine. nice. I found that this video was helpful. My issue was same as yours. And I found that after I cleared away all the frozen goods and opened the panel, there wasn't any ice on mine either. But oddly enough, it was super silent when plugged the power back on. I figured it was quiet now because I removed all the stuff blocking the two vent openings at the bottom part of the panel. I figured the 'over stuffing' of freezer pushed all the goods to press against those 2 vent openings at the bottom and like a lung, if you have a hard time taking in air, you'll have to work harder to get it in. That was probably why my pump was running so loud. After I did the same of leaving space between the frozen goods and the back wall, my noise all went away. Now I have to find time to get some 'bumper gap' things made to all me to stuff my freezer without pushing into the vents...ironic. now that means my freezer space is ACTUALLY smaller than it is. Since you don't want to literally cover the bottom part. I figured some new plastic trays and a bumper would help me sort that out....hope that helps someone out there too.
Thank you, wow it worked I just cleaned out my freezer.. and Wala no noise you saved me today dear thank you so much God bless you for making this video! SandyNYC ❤️😊🌈

Hi. I just watched your video and have the exact same refrigerator and between the two of us......I fixed my refrigerator !!!!!! The noise is gone and I will be careful not to overfill my freezer in the future !!!
I have found using a leaf blower to defrost a freezer works very fast and efficient. Just make sure you have towels or something to soak up the water. It will only take about 10 to 20 minutes and your done. I’ve used this method several times and it work great. Just prop the blower in the door and let it go.
This was a really '' Cool '' vid ... Lol ... And you were right about blocking the air flow ... I take a mixture of 1/4 tsp of Cayenne , turmeric and Braggs ACV every mourning on an empty tummy and it works well for inflammation ... Aloha ...
Aloha Eddy!! Mahalo for the healthy morning mixture recipe! That sounds like a wonderful thing to drink every morning! You must be as healthy as an ox! 😄 We need to start drinking that every morning too..

YOU JUST SAVED ME 2 GRAND!!!
Great stuff! Fixed my noisy fridge with a hairdryer in 15 mins. Thank you 🙏
Did you unplugged a full day before you use hair dryer?
@@naznintayef2010 I fixed mines in 3 mins just using a hair dryer
Thank you so much!!! It helped so much to just clean out the freezer and unblock the lower fan. THANKS
Thank you so much dear. I fix my refrigerator today following your instruction 🙏🏾
Wow 😮 all i did was move a few items around and it stopped! Thank you!
Thanks! I did it; it worked! Saved me plenty!
Although my fridge wasn't over stuffed and nearly empty, this still helped and saved me so much trouble from having to call the matinence guy. I think it had something to do with me accidentally leaving the freezer door slightly opened while I was at work. I guess when everything started to refreeze a bunch of new crystals formed around the fan from everything melting. 🤔
Thanks a bunch!
thank you so much for the quick fix. I used the hairdryer method and in 10 minutes, the helicopter noise was gone.
But not only for this material but for so many more that you made !😁👍
Fantastic .. i will just check up second method to remove accumulated ice .. and try for not getting any sound ... Thank you gentle man ..
Thank you so much!!! The blow dryer fixed the problem!!!!!
I have a Haier (GE) refrigerator that's not even 3 years old and I have that exact noise, but also a loud hum that almost sounds like it's coming from the side. Thank you for this helpful info on the fan.

Excellent video, excellent advice. This is definitely a channel to learn from. Thanks!
Thank you Mano! I appreciate you watching and commenting!
Thanks bro. My wife has the thing packed.
