- We finally got the opportunity to drive the new Toyota Hyryder which is on sale in the market for sometime now. Since we have already spoken about its exterior and interior details in our first look video, this will focus mainly on its mileage in city conditions. We drove it in city traffic for over 100kms to cross check the claim made by the carmaker that it returns greater fuel efficiency in city thanks to its self-charging hybrid system. The model we tested costs Rs 21 lakh on-road, whereas the entry level hybrid model comes at around Rs 18 lacs (ex-showroom)

I have Grand Vitara Hybrid. 70% run on the highway. Avg fuel economy highway/city 70/30% we get is ~24kmpl which is ultimate. It does not feel underpower at all on the highway as well.
Nice average u r getting sir 👍.I was apprehensive about its highway mileage but this is quite good numbers . If someone drive on speed around80-85 kmph than I think numbers can increase .👍
Even diesel car has 20-24 fuel efficiency

But in city they give around 15 -16 with ac I think .I have ertiga diesel .as far as turbo petrol are concerned they are good for highway and give around 18-19 if driven sanely .Now I have seltos turbo manual petrol .it return around 18-19 kmpl on highway if driven around 80-90 kmph ..As far as city is concerned it can come to single digits in heavy traffic around 9-10 kmpl.hybrid are good for both highway as well as city

Vikas Bhai, this is common practice in India, but no one should fill up fuel tank above auto cut!
3 reasons:
1. You will get less economy as a result of fuel over flow and lack of Air in fuel tank!
2. Overflown fuel gets into canister purge Valve, hence will damage it. It is an expensive repair. It is an Evaporative Emission Control System (EVAP)
3. "The EVAP system seals the fuel system of your vehicle to prevent harmful fuel vapors from entering the environment." Hence one will be causing harm to the environment.
Even the big automotive journalist and RUclipsrs seems to lack such basic mechanical knowledge in India.
There is a reason why manufacturer have engineered such thing as "Auto-Cut", and fuel pumps are required to have the detection system installed on their fuel nosel/Pistons!
I still have an old zen vxi that gives 11 km/l, though it has only clocked 80k kms.😢 But still, as zippy as ever😊

Your service cost for an oil change should cost about 6500-8000ps which means a 10000km service

Govt is ignorant to saving fuel, they like to sell ethanol at petrol rate. So much fuel saving with strong hybrid but they will not give any tax surcharge reduction.

On an average 60-70% of my commute is on Highways.
On Highway the mileage is 20.7 after 5000 km 10 percentage city and 90percentage Highway (speed 80 to 120)

Hello sir, I need highway run test also. I purchased it on 15 days back and my fuel efficiency coming to be 20.9
Would be helpful if some details about the battery life of Hyryder is also included as hybrid car manufacturers give around 3-5 years of battery warranty after which the battery needs replacement. So is it really fuel efficient if we add the cost of the battery replacement is one of the concerns i have about hybrid vehicles.

You don't have to replace your battery after 8 years. This is just a myth battery will continue to perform yes obviously your battery health would decline by 2 3 percent but that doesn't necessarily mean you have to replace it.

Yes in city it gives 24kmpl but in city like AHMEDABAD this big car is not just practical i think. SO WITH 5 LAKH COAT DIFFERENCE i can easily enjoy low mileage for 3 to 4 yrs.

This car is good. But not for me, as i have a family of 4 with a 3 month old baby. And the boot space this car offers makes this car useless for me. As i cannot travel with the luggage i have for all the people.
And i just can’t buy another car for boot space after spending 20+ lacs on one car. Plus in bangalore taxes are sky high

Many Diesel cars are cheaper than this...way cheaper than this...and giving 25kmpl in the city.I have experienced 30kmpl on the highway.Seems like not a good deal.

i also bought creta diesel knight after driving vitara(hoping hyryder is same)..even considered the ncap but ultimately the incar feel and driveability of creta just killed everyone else..taigun dsg was close but its single digit fe killed the mood
@@tigerfighter8921 congratulations.. I am not sure when I will get the delivery but from now on DEF/adblue will be required in diesel Creta, yes even my experience were similar with these cars.. Kushaq and Taigun are very impressive but the mileage, as you mentioned is really very less..
