I have changed a clutch on cars but not a bike so this is a very helpful video and saves money. 👍👍👍👍Good job man.
When I would be in gear, I would rev up the bike and I would not accelerate as fast as I am usually able to.For example I was would be in 3rd gear riding 20mph at 1800rpms (almost full rev) I did some research and found out that the problem I was having was called "clutch slipping." I called my local moto shop and after explaining that my clutch was slipping, he said it would be 350$ to take a look at it. Smh then I started doing research on slipping clutches and to resolve the problem I needed to replace my clutch plates. Replacing the clutch and changing the oil is easier than I thought it would be. My ninja 250 runs stronger and has overall better performance with the new clutch and fresh oil.
After watching the same part a billion times without success, i decided to start from the begginning. Then and only then did I get that damn clutch lever pin in right... I feel so dumb, you made it look so easy 🤣 if only i watched the full thing the first time it wouldve been so much easier.
thank you dan
Always watch a DIY video all the way through or you miss steps 😉
Springs and plates rocked up today nice wet day outside so perfect for service on the old girl got plugs and filters to while I'm at it she'll get the full love job
I just ordered my kit with them and it came in USED!!! some of the plates are warn out and I have a track day in two weeks. Hope they will send me a new part ASAP
That's unheard of??? I would definitely be raising h***
Will gas getting in the crankcase ruin a clutch? My carburetor overflowed into the crankcase and now my bike won’t shift.
the bearing....is it supposed to be way bigger than the shaft?
this is an amazing video man keep this stuff up
Every time I get a bike into work on it I try to show people how to do things without bullshiting anyone
Its always best to soak clutch plates before!! even if its just for an hour or so. You run the risk of using up and or scorching the first time you ride next
On this model you can actually just open the clutch plates with the clutch while the engine is running and it will circulate the oil through the plates
Same thing with the ninja 500R
Whats the name of the company you ordered from on ebay?
Caltric
hi mate i saw caltric clutch and its good price but is it good to this day after u install it ? i have suzuki intruder 1500cc and i want try it give me an advice pls and thanks
I've been using their parts for years I've never had one single issue
did you soak the clutch plates ? ive read everywhere the plates need to soak in oil overnight
The clutch plates do not need to soak an oil overnight and for a wet clutch with a bottom sump like this it's really easy to install them dry and squeeze the clutch open and close a few times and oil will get in between the plates without having to wait. Now for bigger bikes I would definitely oil the clutch ahead of time but never in the history of installing a clutch do you have to wait 24 hours. On a small bike like this if you want you can pre oil them just by dipping them and then installing them or like me the clutch Springs are huge allowing lots of displacement between the plates for easy oil to penetrate and get inside the clutch without the need for dipping them at all. The Choice is yours but you do not need to let them sit overnight
Hey what oil do you recommend for ninja 250r? Mine carburated version. Is shell advance ultra good? Or motul 5100?
So I'm actually using 10-40 full synthetic Valvoline 4-stroke motorcycle oil in mine and it does just fine it's really good for the clutch as well. This will allow you to go much longer before needing an oil change and it will be a lot better for your system.
@@IFixShet what’s ur opinion on T6 on the Ninja ?
What is the name of the kit or the ebay store for the clutch kit that you picked up for so cheap?! Looking to get this done on my 250 soon. Cheers great video

Is the bearing larger than the shaft. Like way larger?
I'm not sure what you're talking about
On the steel plates does the machined side face away from the bike of the rounded sides? Does the bike need to be in neutral?
Join my Facebook group then post a video and ask the question so I can see what you're talking about.
@IFixShet the metal friction plates for the clutch have 2 different sides. One side is machined flat and has a flat "sharper" edge. The other side is smooth and the edge is rounded over. U may not have even noticed it when installed them but yea I'll do that
@@maxx_life Did you order from the company I suggested?
@@IFixShet no I ordered mine directly from kawasaki
So the ones that I put in didn't have a forward or a backwards. All of the plates were identical
Anyone facing the same problem? The clutch cable had been adjusted perfectly. However the engagement point it’s too early. If I loosen the cable the engagement point will be perfect but level will have lots of free play. Is there a clutch spring release or something. Can’t figure out what’s the issue even after opening the clutch case
With that clutch cable, did you slack it off at the clutch lever m8?
I adjusted the clutch after I installed
What’s the name of the screwdriver you’ve got??? I’ve been looking for the same but couldn’t find it
You have to be way more specific give me a timestamp in the video so I can view it and see what you're talking about there were a lot of tools used in this video it's an hour long
Sorry, Man. My fault. You’re absolutely right 🙏
I was talking about the electric screwdriver which you used at 21:01

Don't forget to smash the like button and subscribe my dude
Just did it. Thanks man. I recently changed the clutch on my bike using this video. You saved me a lot of money
Hey dude have you replaced a rear tire to bigger tire too ?
No sir
Great video Dan looks and sounding great 👍
It's coming along great
Did you not leave tha new plate and clutch in Oil
No need it's made with organic material it will immediately soak up the oil once it's spread across the clutch which is why I opened and closed it a few times to allow the oil in
Hello need help with my when I put firt gear they turn of 😭I got the kit idk if that problem
Could be kick stand sensor
Hey, can you please link the ebay listing.
I did and it was removed by RUclips if you want to find it just search on eBay for the clutch kit trust me it's easy to find
@@IFixShet is the seller name
