+doonglerules According to the Touhou universe, there's a human village some where in the Gensokyo. Why? I'm not sure. But amid the danmakus, human-eating youkai, and very whimsical deities wandering around I'm sure I'd question why I'd be living there in a kind of medieval Japan like village and not here in the 21st century with the internets.
Steeljaw XXI The Human village knows nothing of the modern world and barely in their own world outside the village. They pretty much stay there most of the time out of fear of being attacked or eaten.

This is exactly the sort of visual clusterfuck and visual spectacle that I'd expect a bullet hell in 3d to be. Great stuff and got a chuckly over the implication that Sakuya had to pick up all the knives she had been throwing.
Isn't it basically canon that Sakuya has to recollect her knives after (or even during) a fight?

Erik Karver Great find. It looks similar to the first phase of that card.
Erik Karver Heaven Sign "Immortal Sage's Rumbling" has Chen *infrequently* leave a semicircle of *red* bullets (or somewhat frequently a full circle, just before she comes to a stop) as she moves.
What we're seeing there is Oni God "Soaring Guardian God", which *very frequently* creates a semicircle of *blue* bullets as she moves.

Btw, Yukari > Remilia > Shinki
Wasn't Remilia already following the rules when Reimu met her for the first time?
She was, but there was a "Vampire Incident" before the events of EoSD. A vampire (presumably Remilia) started to take over Gensokyo, and it took an extremely strong youkai (likely Yukari) to defeat her. That's when the spell card rules were created.
Yukari's Hype Train is the best hype train. 9/9, would cirno again

I loved all of it.
But the most noteworthy moment was when I bursted out laughing at Yukari using the train because I thought Reimu got hit by it, but nope, she flew right through it from start to end.

Yeah, cos unlike later minusT animations, in this one characters still have emotions and facial expressions rather than goofy smiles(like in subterrarian stars)
Tbh don't listen to me, those minor issues are nothing in comparsion with the amount of effort involved in theese animations and quality of result. Keep it up minusT, u got a well-deserved like!

The fact that they had to use FIVE Spell Cards just to hit Yukari with ONE Master Spark is a pretty good indicator of her strength.
She has been told to be one of the oldest, IF NOT the oldest person in Gensokyo...

Actually, the whole Spell Card system was developed mainly by Reimu and was first properly used in the Scarlet Mist incident, so its actually not that old. Any incidents before that were mainly test runs to see if the system works. It was developed so that weak youkai, spirits and humans have a chance to defeat much stronger beings. In fact, the whole thing was designed by Reimu so that Youkai would have a chance in beating her in a fair match. Her ultimate Fantasy Nature (Musou Tensei), was originally so powerful it was banned until Marisa gave it a proper name and limitation as it literally made her untouchable to any and all attacks against her.
+Frederick Glass. nope,if she was the oldest she would be inactive,the oldest person in gensokyo is the native godess suwako.
Suwako, along with everything else related to the Moriya Shrine, appeared in Gensokyo after PoFV. Now that's something i definetely wouldn't call “native”.

I loved how Sakuya's options/orbs were mechanical knife reloaders/launchers. Not really the usual aesthetic for SDM members, but it looked cool nonetheless.
Remember seeing this years ago when I was still in middle school. Really nice memory, definitely the first and most satisfying 3D Touhou battle for me.
5 years old, but still as epic as new. This masterpiece is unbelievable, surreal. How can people dislike this ? When you see that, the rules of the universe itself force you to like this, to enjoy it from every part of your being. This animation is the most beautiful I've ever seen, including the other ones with Koishi for example. And I can't imagine all the work you must put into it. I don't care how much time I must wait for your other masterpieces, I'll wait patiently, knowing that in the end, everything will be worth it. Thank you, your animations make my life brighter.

Xanadu of Straight and Curve. The blue lasers are something you hardly acknowledge, trying to stay within the cell the bullets put you in, while also trying to squeeze between the bubbles.

Nah, he released multiple "Making of [x]" videos where he shows some of the making process. There's a tool for symmetrical duplication of objects, and it's possible to define the animation keyframes for one object and have its duplicates replicate the movement symmetrically. There's no way in the world somebody animates tens (or hundreds?) of thousands of bullets one by one.

I know this is four years old, but my god it's still incredible. That Border of Wave and Particle was insane, the quality and comedic timing is on point, and looking back it's amazing to see how much talent and skill you already were able to put into these animations.

minusT, you've outdone yourself again. Congratulations on setting a new unofficial record, for the largest number of Touhou characters appearing in any one 3D Danmaku fight, be that through MMD or Blender.
Just in the way all this was framed and lovingly brainstormed, going by the all the different moves and references used, it had me watching with bated breath. I can't overstate this... Amazing!!
You know... if ever there was a chance, if ever, to make a fully-fledged live action movie to do with Touhou, you would be one of the first to be brought onto the production team I reckon...
The way I see the dialogue going at the ending:
Reimu: So we beat you Yukari, Now you'll fix it as promised
Yukari: Oh? I honestly have no idea what you are talking about
Reimu: Seriously? The rift between the netherworld and here
Yukari: Oh that! Now when did I say that I would fix it if you won
Reimu: WHAT!!!
It was more of a draw, really.
Actually, reading the lip animation puts it almost exactly at the canon ending for reimu, check the phantasm dialogue on the wiki

The gender ratio is Gensokyo is the same as the outside world. The reason we don’t see many male characters is because cute girls sell games better. That is literally the only reason.

I don't know if this has been mentioned before. But if you slow the video around 7:29 or so, there's a glimpse of sakuya putting the knife. It's such a nice little touch.

I love how everyones commenting on things that they notice that are screw ups by the human side but perhaps maybe just MAYBE it's that Yukari is just so good at what she's doing shes making all the humans look like novices. Like a fully fledged adult teaching toddlers how to stand and walk for the first time.

Yukari, Okina, and Kasen have all been defeated by the human characters at some point, but I think the jury is still out on whether the Sages were just letting them win to some extent
That was absolutely beautiful. Everything about this was beautiful, the smoothness of the animation, the character models, the lighting, and the danmanku themselves. I can't imagine the amount of work you put into this. Kudos.

As always you have exceeded my expectations. Gorgeous, amazing, and I most certainly love the idea that rather than just the general boss placed in a 3D plain, the whole fight was something new and special with the girls putting strategy into their attacks, changing up Yukari's own plan of fire, yet staying true to her spells. Amazing work as always!
Utsuho will probably be just as great I'll say that much... but I still hope to see Eirin (or) Kaguya and Mokou SOMEday ^^' ...Or maybe BOTH! like a Kaguya/Eirin team in the fashion of the teams put together for the playable characters of IN. Of course this could just be my own thinking too far into it, you do whatever you feel is best. all the same I think this just makes me happier to know Koishi will be coming sooner than expected. Possibly Byakuren sooner as well... God I would love to see my favorite girl of the whole series in 3D action! I'm thinking so far ahead now I'm just torturing myself. XD

Wooah awesome!! Been hyped for this fight since Yukari's probably my favourite touhou character, and this doesn't disappoint. I like the emphasis on manouvering between the danmaku, it really captures that tense feeling from the gameplay. Really fantastic job MinusT on everything especially the danmaku particle effects, everything just looks so colourful and beautiful!

This is a fantastic video and it really captures the essance of being in there and playing through all of these seemingly impossible fights, VERY well done
This is the greatest Touhou-related thing I've ever seen.
I love it! I love it so much! Tthrown right into the action from the start, I love how Ran and Chen get brought into the fight as well.
The only problem is that they were barely in there
XxTouhouGamerxX If I'm not mistaken, they both count as summon spells, therefore they're not permanently involved in the fight. Yukari summons Ran, and Ran summons Chen. Still, it was an epic feeling when the two teams were staring at each other, and then they went one on one for a few seconds.
He did the same thing with Flandre, remember?
Okay one of my favorite things is video game fights brought to pre-rendered 3D visual media... That is to say, video. That way, the maker has total freedom with every movement; No need to make it work with a system, it's fully dynamic movement. Minus T takes this to a whole new level, blasting past, like, 3 other "whole new level" stages. Blown out of the water. I love this, and I am so, so grateful to Minus T that this exists. Truly beautiful. I wish more people did this, especially if they did it this dang well!
