Of all the paces and times in history I'd go to if I had a time machine, a ride on the ET&WNC from Johnson City all the way to Cranberry would top the list!
#12 was olive green from the factory.....and then painted black in the early 1920's, then from 1936-1943 she was southern green, and back to black from 1943-1956, since then she has been green.
All of the sound is from video that i have of #12 at Tweetsie. I tried to match it the best that i could....took about 2hrs to do 3 mins. If i could get a recording of 11's whistle i could do one with her in it.
Greetings, I operate a website showcasing the history of Carter County Tennessee. I have a little footage of the last days of the ETRY when it was shutting down on the site. I would like to put a couple of links to some of the video you have on youtube. I know I could have done this without asking but wanted your permission before posting. It looked like some of this was actually shot in Hampton. Can you verify? Thanks, Rusty Melton cartercountyhistory
I can not grant permission to use this as i do not hold the copyright on the film. I do hold the copyright on "this" video along with the sound as you see it. I had permission from the owner's to produce this small clip for youtube.
Beautiful movie ! I love to see old trains in color !!! In France, we use N&B until the 70' s !!!
I love it. I grew up only a few miles from Tweetsie. I also have a couple of pictures from 1957/8 of #12 on the back of a flatbed heading up 321.
Wow! I can tell you put a lot of time in this! Very Nice footage and sound! #12 is such a great engine! Great work, Tim!

Did #12 ever look like that On30 model of her by Bachmann (green/black)?
@SBA191 12 is Black in this video. 11 and all the 4-6-0's was only green for about 4-5 years from around 1936-1942.
may I use this in a documentary
@ericpdav um ... no your thinking of southern railway ... tweetsie did have a "love affair " with southern but #12 is not a cresent
