Disclaimer: Up until around lap 60, you'll notice tiny bits here and there that are missing. This is due to me flipping back and forth between the 600, the rain-delayed Indy 500, and a Red Sox game. Very little of the 600 is missed and there are ZERO interruptions after the lap 60 mark. For shits and giggles, I even left in bits and pieces of the Indy 500 that I caught while flipping over to it during the Coke 600 commercials. There's a recap of the race up until the red flag for rain, and then there's even a replay of Marco's flip in the backstretch later on. Just think of it as bonus content? lol
An interesting note about this race and it's eventual outcome. Casey Mears won this race, his only Cup victory, on the 28th anniversary of his uncle Rick's first Indianapolis 500 win. This race was run on May 27, 2007 and Rick Mears' first Indy win was exactly 28 years earlier, on May 27, 1979. This race also marked the final top five finish for Kyle Petty, who picked up his only really big win in this race 20 years earlier, when he won the 1987 Coca-Cola 600 driving for the Wood Brothers.
