- Last week I posted a score of 20,357 on the empty leader board for the new Diverse world map (NMPZ) and it was swiftly knocked off. Here I am trying to jump back on.

Hey Tom got a tip for you. That last guess that went to Manitoba was funny for me . Because when I saw it I thought man that looks just like it does around where I live. And look at that tit was only 30km away from our farm. A tip for you to help identify gravel roads in Canada : They are ALWAYS Raised with a Slope of 3-1 (most of the time) . Also one side or the other will have a bit of a gravel ridge from where the machine grade the road. Usually in the late fall the grass on the side will also be cut back just like it is in that picture. This is done so when the snow blows it catches in the ditches and we don’t get snow drifts.
That ending though. OOF
He's probably flipping tables over after the camera cut's.
These videos are so refreshing to watch - just found the channel recently and have been bingeing. Thanks for all the laughs, Tom! Keep it up
Same here.... I've always loved geography...
ProTip, we're not driving on the left in Poland ;)
He misspoke- he meant the right.
Neither we do in Hungary btw
Unus annus, respect
Memento Mori. Unus Annus.
Neither we do in Denmark lmao
oant sjen is Frisian for "tot ziens" or in English "Goodbye/ until next time). It's was considered a Dutch accent since forever but has recently been awarded a seperate language. This made the Frisians very happy
ik wist gewoon meteen dat dit friesland was ondanks dat ik zelf uit zuid holland kom lol
Je hebt dit sws geschreven toen je op de wc zat
@@HardstyleGamerz ha ha!
But Frisian is older then Dutch. How did it became an accent?
@@2009heyhow That I do not know. I guess some ignorance played a role
Honestly I am not good at this usually and wouldn't have guessed nearly as well as Tom on most of these, but for some reason I knew it was Canada. I think it was the cold landscape and really straight gravel road.
Same here, it was the flat desolate landscape, dryness, sparse conifers and look of continentality. Canada's very big though
I got that too, but I think I cheat by being Canadian.
I right away said central Saskatchewan. P
i'm from southern ontario and have never been to the prairies, but DAMN something inside me was screaming "manitoba"
I’m from Manitoba, I had a feeling it was my province but I wasn’t sure if Manitoba had made it on the diverse world map.
For future reference, in the US/assumedly Canada people generally drive near the center on gravel roads like that last round, only moving over if someone is oncoming. There will often be a single set of ruts that both directions follow
Truth
I mean even if you got a perfect 5k at the end you wouldn't win, you'd have 23240, just 5 points away
Specifically avoided taking geography in school and here I am 10 years later watching a record attempt of a geo-game I've never heard of.
Thoroughly enjoyed m8 9/10 .
that was one of the saddest most defeated moment ive seen 😂😂😂

That sign in the Netherlands is a West Frisian language
Kim jong-un? More like Kim de Jong-un🧐🇳🇱
Bet you could get a perfect score every time.
How do you know that? Don't you have a country to lead?
No it’s not. Just Frisian. West Frisian is a dialect, not a language.
Actually, West Frisian does refer to what in Dutch is called Westerlauwers Fries or just Fries. West-Fries, the dialect you're thinking of, is called West Frisian Dutch in English.
3:23 Frisian ('Fries'), the second official language in The Netherlands, spoken mostly in the provice of Friesland (North-East)
Grunnnnn
you also have northern frisian spoken in coastal regions around south west denmark and north west germany :-)
I was like... wait what that ain't dutch
I didn't know that people actually still speak fries
2:25 That flag is from Marseille, a southern French city, second largest in France. As soon as I saw it, I thought it was Senegal because there are a lot of football fans who support Olympique Marseille in Senegal :)
That last round looked very Canadian to me but I do also live about an hour away from where it was so I know the landscape very well
Every time Tom leans in to the screen I think he’s going to kiss me
Same, I even lean in for it
Well, that is certainly a comment.
Already excited to see you next week on Rocket Beans TV! Kind greetings from Germany!

@@danielstief5468 wow mega cool Danke!! Ohne deinen Kommentar hätte ich das gar nicht mitbekommen
The langauge you saw was Frisian. In this Dutch province called Friesland they speak both Dutch and Frisian. It's actualy a cousin language of English since the Anglo-Saxons spoke it as well when they moved to England.
Oh man, that last guess result crushed my soulll... Frankly, it was a very hard one to guess. Could very much have been in Romania or Bulgaria really... A valiant effort nonetheless!
That's the first time I see Frisian in a video of yours! Although it must've occurred in your Netherlands perfect score attempts; I don't think I've watched that, though.
*sees no car
Tom: obviously we are driving on the left
you can see from the google van that would’ve taken the lictures
But in Hungary they drive on the right so I really dont get it, since you can see a truck in the right lane coming and the google car is going on the left lane.
I watch your videos when I'm on break and now I've found that every time I hear your voice I get hungry! Great videos for tips and keep it up mate 👍
@3:08 That sign is in Frisian, if you think you are in The Netherlands and the words look more Scandinavian, a good bet is that you are in Friesland province. (Frisian is an official language.)
Ja ik was ook echt zovan alsjeblieft denk daar aan maar helaass...
yep, after I heard that and saw how flat the land was I immediately thought friesland
One too many "nondescript rural road in the middle of nowhere" rounds...
Geowizard x Rocketbeans so hyped
you should do a video with an eye tracker i think that would be really interesting to see what you are taking in and the major factors that you notice
The Netherlands one with "oant sjen" was actually rather cool. Being from the north of the Netherlands myself, I'd recognized it instantly. It translates to goodbye and is the Frisian language. Which is from the northern province Frisia or Friesland how we call it. However, they do say the Frisian language is comparable to the Danish, so you weren't far off.
That ragequit ending was priceless.
More like sadquit.
Kudos for uploading that footage
I love seeing the comments and there's so many people from different countries talking together. Its nice to see so many different cultures and countries coming together.
Riley Borchardt I like seeing that too it's special in YT videos. (:
I live in Alberta, Canada. That last round I was thinking the something about the trees gave me Canadian prairie vibes!
The Gambia just looks so weird, the intestine of countries
It's borders were designed by the English to keep France from having access to the river Gambia lol
It's the result of a treaty where France gave 200 miles of land along the Gambia river to the Brits, roughly 10 miles on either side.
Just for once please dont like bot your boring ass comments

Game on indeed 😏
Idea: Group geoguessr.. so the idea is to get an “expert” of various cities around the world, put them all in a video chat and as a team see how well you can go!
Love this man. The first video I watched from him was when he named all British cities he could think of in 1 hour. I’m still impressed
14:30 Tom has a think
As Romanian, Im happy to see this :)
I grew up in rural northwestern Minnesota and that last one felt like home. Not surprised it was just north of me. You are unbelievable at this though, very impressive.
That was incredibly weird, when the Japan one came up, I thought "This is so similar to me, I'm pretty sure I know where this is", turns out I lived in the town it was for 7 months. It's a little town called Inuyama for anyone wondering.
**Helpful advice** For your last attempt there. There was a mixed Forrest. Coniferous and deciduous trees (evergreens/softwood and broadleaf/hardwoods). This isn't a common occurrence. Its limited to the Canada/USA border (Saskatchewan and eastward to the Atlantic). Also this occurs in some of Europe, but it is easy to distinguish as Europe is much much more mountainous (or even hilly) than the eastern half of North America. Here you can see very flat terrain typical of Central Canada maybe northern USA.
I have an unfair advantage recognizing Canada being from here, but just some helpful advice for next time
Good luck on breaking that record!!
3:30 in the Netherlands there is a province called Friesland, they have a.different language then Dutch, they speak"fries" so the sign that you where seeing said, tot ziens/see you later. It is in "farmer language"
*nothing but a sky and a bird*
"i'm thinking northwestern Hanoi"
*gets it exactly right*
I guess it's time to replace "are we recording?" with "is the sound on?" LMAO
That Borat impression at 9:32 was brilliant
Oooof! So close!
(And frankly, you could play with no zooming on the world map either, and still get more points than many of us here :-) )
"driving on the right - must be northern Argentina" :D
"Oant sjen" is saying "goodbye" in the Frisian language (that's sproken in the top of the netherlands in a province called Friesland / Fryslân)
That weird language "oant sien" was Frisian, a language spoken in the provice ofFryslân in the Netherlands. "Oant sien" is the equivalent of "see you next time" or "bye bye".
Hi Tom. I'd like to give you a bit of inside information regarding the second guess of the video, for future endeavours. The northernmost province of the Netherlands, called Friesland, has its own, officially recognised language: Frisian. You can even find it in Google Translate. The language you see on the sign is Frisian and would be a dead giveaway if you're familiar with the language. It basically reads 'goodbye,' as you're leaving the municipality.
Argentina doesn't have yellow intermittent lines in the middle. That's Brazil.
In Argentina is either white intermittent or continuous yellow on bends, which means no overtaking
That last round HURTS.
I like how he didn't even say goodbye and just walked away. Embarrassed by that last one, no doubt.
6:08 HEY it is my city!
I know this is an old video, and you probably won't see this, but I'd like you to know that "Oant Sjen!" actually not Dutch is but Frisian, and it means "Goodbye!". Its the second official language in the Netherlands spoken only by people from the most northern province Friesland.
ok
I live un Córdoba, Argentina and i had no idea that was Córdoba, very good guess
The last guess scuffed it. I'm not good at this but the firs second i saw the last picture i said canada never even been there it just felt like canada. I knew it wasn't Bulgaria since i'm from there. We usually have more evenly distributed trees on roads like these left and right side would look about the same and when traveling small houses are seen very often. Also fences or cultivated land is also seen very often. But it isn't a bad guess since in the winter it does kinda look like that when traveling.
Wanna add that the Turkey guess was amazing.
May tom's soul rest in peace after that fatal heartbreaking last round
GeoWizard: "okay this is obviously (insert country name)"
Me: "I didn't even know that was a country"
The last one looked like a country from the western hemisphere to me. The gravel road was nearly perfect straight und even.
12:52 "I was tempted by out here, you know, Brittany, but I thought 'no, it doesn't look that abstract, it looks fairly normal'"
okay I am somehow scared of Brittany now
When is straight line mission across Norway coming?
Later this month I think
Nov 22nd i believe
@@PribPrib thanks
That second guess is really tough though - its a Frysian sign, which is a province in the Netherlands with a language that looks and sounds more like Danish/English
So excited that you are gonna take part in the rocket beans' geo battle! :)
I don't why, but his voice makes the gameplay so soft. I just mean his excitement doesn't take over the video.
Do more of "A Complete World", that episode was great
The last one I recognized as Canada (it's very close in looks to my home, which is very close to the border.)
If you see a bike path with a stream besides it, best guess is Netherlands, we generally don’t have as many streams by our bike paths here in Denmark.
Do you recommend the GeoGuessr merchandise?
Being Canadian I had a feeling right away that last round was Canada. Not much clues but could just tell. What an unfortunate way to lose it :(
I’m from that part of Manitoba, and I wouldn’t have even guessed Canada there
no offense but that round seemed the Underworld xD
Carlos Lorca hahaha oh it is the underworld alright
That was brutal in the end mate!
Actually that last scene reminded me of a very poor-looking part of Canada seen on stream a day or two ago - was it on your tourney? It's all a blur these days.
saw you on rocket beans. nice work mate! cheers
That last one I was quite sure it was Ukraine or Russia. - I would have scored even less ...
For the one in the Netherlands, the language that was on the sign was in Frysk, which might be why it confused you with Denmark
Oh man that last round was brutal. The desolate landscape and leaveless trees just screamed American plains to me.
When is the straight line across norway videos coming out? Cant wait
Am I wrong or are you wearing an Italian hoodie in the second part of the video?
Don't feel bad about the last one. I said it could easily be Finland too as I live here. So it could have been anywhere.
I have nothing to say really, but I appreciate your content, and wish to help with the yt-algorithms.
few extra pints of Guinness after that haha good stuff mate, Im Canadian but would have picked somewhere in eastern Europe as well
This is good to remember, if it looks Dutch but they use a funny language, it is in Fryslan. The most Northern Province in the Netherlands. 4:00
