This is Winter, an almost 12wk old Cavapoo. I’m just showing basic grooming on her; toenail trims, brushing her coat, trimming her feet and face and brushing her teeth.
I worked with a dog trainer a few years back and she used to tell parents of fuzzy faced dogs to keep the hair clear of their eyes for the first 6 months as that is the critical time for eye development.
My dark red cavapoo is almost 4 months old. I've been doing sort of grooming with her at least twice a week, but she hates it, bites me all the way through it. She absolutely hates water. When I got her about 2 months ago, I started with a couple of inches of water, I keep the bath rather short too. I also hand wash her face and eyes with a wash cloth & baby No More Tears shampoo, I never run water over her face or ears, yet she freaks out, like I'm going to drown her in 2 inches of water. I sure hope she holds still some day, like your puppy did!!
