  • I share my easy, inexpensive, and unusual DIY fix for top-load Samsung washers that have a recurring DC error code. I use a Walmart $1.00 swim noodle for this fix which takes only 5 minutes. (Please note that this is a temporary workaround fix and not intended as a permanent solution.)

So glad I came across this video! I have hated my Samsung washer since the day I bought it because of the way it goes out of balance so easily. Every load of towels or sheets had to be readjusted repeatedly to finish a cycle. This pool noodle solution was the best! Pool noodles aren't available in November so I used new paint rollers strategically placed over the top of the drum, and it worked like a charm. First time ever to get thru a cycle with towels without annoying delays! Thanks for posting this clip. And seriously Samsung - if this has been a problem since 2015, it's time to ramp up your game.

Hi Donna, glad it helped you. You might want to watch the followup video for the update just in case it doesn't hold up as a backup measure. I had to jam in a pillow for further reinforcement. ruclips.net/video/3Q3xedrFozM/видео.html . Having said all that, I think I might have a more permanent solution this week. I hope to get my 3rd video on the Samsung washer issue next week.

I just replaced my rods because of the spin cycle issue. I bought new ones from Amazon with the rubber material on the springs and it's been running great.

This was a temporary fix to buy time until I figured a permanent fix. I ultimately replaced the suspension rods which I made a video how I did it.

This is genius! I am so thankful to not have to babysit my load of laundry anymore or have it take 2.5 - 3 hours to complete due to repeating the rinse spin cycles over and over. I ended up taping just one side of the pool noodle to the top to keep it from coming out, but my fear/concern is it possibly still coming loose and getting stuck behind the drum where I can't reach it. What is the risk of this happening and will the washer still be usable if it does that?
Oh and btw the noodles are no longer $1... I paid something like $3.29 for it from Walmart last week. Darn inflation lol

Hi April, Since that first video, I was able to make a more permanent fix for our washer. That Samsung Washer was a multi-month journey for us. Here is the video link to our final fix and it is working to this day: ruclips.net/video/8KUprY5NYfQ/видео.html

Hi Brett, I agree with you. That dang DC code annoyed me to no end for months. Go to the Part III of my video series which I show people how I replaced the rods which ultimately gets rid of the DC code.
